“Listening is an attitude of the heart, a genuine desire to be with another, which both attracts and heals.”

In human relations of any kind, listening is so simple, so basic and yet so powerful. It is good in every respect. Want to be more successful in all you do? Just become a good “listener.” With your customers, your manager, your colleagues, your family, even with strangers. It’s a fundamental form of respect. It enables you to work better with others, whether you are a heart surgeon, a plumber, or a seller of fish. Listen carefully not only to what is said, but to how it is said, and to perhaps why it is said, too. Now here’s something to ponder: the exact same letters in the word “listen” are the letters in the word “silent.” A coincidence? I think not. As many have said before: that’s why we have been given two ears, but just one mouth. A coincidence? I am sure not.
This fine quote was sent to us by Rex of Wetherford, Oklahoma who is engaged in the commercial printing business. He says good listening is responsible for both his success in business, and the peace in his home. Great thought, Rex. We are with you.
