These events are designed to bring together entrepreneurs, investors and the tech community to talk and learn about the current state and future of diversity & inclusion. Especially 2017 is going to be an eventful year for the Bangladeshi Tech lovers, IT professionals, and Startup enthusiasts I must say.

The GP Accelerator, powered by SD Asia, is designed to help local tech startups with the resources they need to build and grow their businesses. It is an initiative to help build the country’s ICT sector by providing a platform for local tech startups to meet this new market demand. The GP Accelerator is a four-month business boot camp that will provide extensive training and resources to grow a business quicker in a short span of time. Through seed funding, workspace in GP House, expert mentors and a weighty set of contacts, the GP Accelerator aims to help entrepreneurs succeed and scale up.

Software Expo (February 1-4) by BASIS:
Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services or BASIS will organize the country’s biggest software and information technology exposition on February 1-4, after a lull of four years.
One of the objectives of this year’s BASIS SoftExpo is to boost the use of local software, especially in government procurement.

Startup Weekend (April) by SD ASIA:
Startup Weekends are weekend-long, hands-on experiences where entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs can find out if startup ideas are viable.
Beginning with open mic pitches on Friday, attendees bring their best ideas and inspire others to join their team. Over Saturday and Sunday teams focus on customer development, validating their ideas, practicing LEAN Startup Methodologies and building a minimal viable product. On Sunday evening teams demo their prototypes and receive valuable feedback from a panel of experts.
