IBPS RRB Eligibility | Know How Much Eligible are you

Each organization has some benchmarks which filter out the eligible candidates from a large number of applicants.

IBPS has also fixed some requisite conditions i.e. IBPS RRB Eligibility for RRB Aspirants. Those who fulfill all the conditions are applicable to apply for the exam.

Below we have mentioned important factors that define eligibility criteria, please check carefully!

1. Nationality

A candidate must be either –
A Citizen of India or

A subject of Nepal or

A subject of Bhutan or

A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or

A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

2. Age Limit (As on 01-07-2015)

For Officer Scale- I:  18 to 30 years.

For Officer Scale- II: 21 to 32 years.

For Officer Scale- III: 21 to 40 years.

3. Educational Qualification

The candidates must have following degrees to become eligible for the concerned test.

(i). For Office Assistant

Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent.

Proficiency in local language.
(ii). For Officer Scale I

Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.

Preference will be given to the candidates having the degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.

Proficiency in local language and Computer knowledge or awareness will be an added qualification.

(iii). For Officer Scale-II (General Banking Officer)

Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Preference will be given to the candidates having degree in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.

Experience: Two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

(iv). For Officer Scale II (Specialist Officer)

Information Technology Officer

Degree from a recognized University in Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / Information Technology or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Desirable: Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP etc.

Experience: One year.

Chartered Accountant

Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Experience: One year.

Law Officer

Degree from a recognized University in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Experience: Two years as an advocate or should have worked as Law Officer in Banks or Financial Institutions for a period not less than two years.

Treasury Manager

Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or MBA in Finance from a recognized university/ institution.

Experience: One year.

Marketing Officer

MBA in Marketing from a recognized university.

Experience: One year.

Agricultural Officer

Degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy/ Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural Engineering/ Pisciculture from a recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Experience: Two years.

(v). For Officer Scale III

Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Preference will be given to the candidates having Degree/ Diploma in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.

Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institutions.

4. Language Proficiency

The candidates applying for the posts of Officer Scale I and Office Assistants – (Multipurpose) in any particular RRB or RRBs are required to possess proficiency in the local language of the State / UT in which the RRB is situated to be eligible for interview, as per the notification of the concerned RRB (The condition does not apply for the posts of Officer Scale II and III).
