IBPS Clerk Exam Eligibility: Nationality/Citizenship

A candidate must be either –
A Citizen of India or
A Subject of Nepal or
A Subject of Bhutan or
A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Important Instructions:
All the above candidates belonging to any category must have a valid citizenship certificate issued by the Government of India.

Important Instructions:
The relaxation in upper age limit to SC/ST/OBC candidates is allowed on cumulative basis with only one of the remaining categories for which age relaxation is permitted.
Candidates seeking age relaxation must submit Important Documents Required at the Time of Joining in Banks.
The following rules applicable to Ex-Servicemen re-employed under the Central government would apply to Ex-Servicemen candidates appearing for the CWE:
Ex-Servicemen candidates who have already secured employment under the Central Government in Group ‘C’ & ‘D’ will be permitted the benefit of age relaxation as prescribed for Ex-Servicemen for securing another employment in a higher grade or cadre in Group ‘C’/ ‘D’ under the Central Government.
However, such candidates will not be eligible for the benefit of reservation on the second occasion for Ex-Servicemen in Central Government jobs.
An Ex-Servicemen who has once joined a Government job on civil side after availing of the benefits given to him/her as an Ex-Servicemen for his/her re-employment, his/her Ex-Servicemen status for the re-employment in Government jobs ceases.
Candidates who are still in the Armed Forces and desirous of applying under Ex-Servicemen category whose date of completion of the specific period of engagement (SPE) is completed one year from the last date for receipt of online application are eligible to apply.

Educational Qualification
A Graduation degree in any discipline from any reputed and well recognized Indian University.
To ensure their applicability, candidates must possess valid Mark-Sheet or Degree Certificates clearly stating about the Academic Marks and Percentage along with the Pass-out date.

Computer Literacy
Aspirants must have enough knowledge of Computer Systems.
They must have the valid certificate/degree/diploma in Computer Operations or Information Technology.
Language Proficiency
Candidates applying for IBPS Clerk should know how to read, write and speak the Official Language of the State/UT for which they are willing to apply.
Important Instructions:
The candidates should have passed their Graduations from a University/ Institution/ Board recognized by the Govt. Of India.
The passing date of the concerned Graduation Degree and authority’s seals or signatures should be present on the Result Marksheet.
If the Result was declared online, then the proper document/certificate in original issued and signed by the appropriate authority of the University/ Institute indicating the date of passing properly mentioned there on will be reckoned for verification and further process.
Candidate should indicate the percentage obtained in Graduation calculated to the nearest two decimals in the online application. Where CGPA / OGPA is awarded, the same should be converted into percentage and indicated in the online application.
The candidate must produce a certificate issued by the appropriate authority stating that the norms of the University regarding the conversion of grade into percentage and the percentage of marks scored by the candidate is in terms of norms.

Ques 1: What is the maximum age limit to appear in the IBPS Clerk Exam?
Answer: It’s 28 for General Category Candidates and the candidates belonging to other categories will be benefited with Age Relaxation.
Ques 2: Can I appear in the Exam with 50 Marks% in Graduation Degree?
Answer: Yes, your score or percentage doesn’t matter for appearing in IBPS Clerk Exam. But you should be declared as passed or qualified in the Graduation Degree.
Ques 3: Which type of persons belong to PWD Category?
Answer: Under Section 33 of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act 1995 only such persons would be eligible for reservation who suffer from not less than 40% of relevant disability and are certified by a Medical Board constituted by the Central/State Govt.
Accordingly, candidates with the following disabilities are eligible to apply –
1. Visually Impaired (VI)
Blindness refers to condition where a person suffers from any of the following conditions namely –
Total absence of sight
Visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 in the better eye with correcting lenses.
Limitation of the field of vision subtending in angle of 20 degrees or worse.
Low vision means a person with impairment of visual functioning even after treatment or standard refractive correction but who uses or is potentially capable of using vision for the planning or execution of a task with appropriate assistive device.
2. Deaf & Hearing Impaired (HI)
The deaf are those persons in whom the sense of hearing is non- functional for ordinary purposes of life i.e. total loss of hearing in both ears.
They do not hear, understand sounds at all even with amplified speech.
3. Orthopedically Challenged (OC)
Orthopedically Challenged candidates are those who have locomotor disability or cerebral palsy with locomotor impairment of minimum of 40% and only those who fall in the following categories are eligible to apply –
BL – Both legs affected but not arms
OA – One arm affected (R or L) [Impaired reach, weakness of grip, ataxia OL]
One leg affected (R or L)
MW – Muscular weakness and limited physical endurance.
Candidates claiming such benefits should produce the original certificate in support of their claim at any stage of the process if provisionally allotted to any of the Participating Organizations.
Note: Persons with Disabilities must work in Branches/ Offices as identified by the respective Participating Organization.
