About the Government Medical College & Hospital
Government Medical College & Hospital Chandigarh ‘City Beautiful’ is one of the country’s best educational facilities. Punjab University and the Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in addition to an engineering college of architecture, College of Arts, colleges, public and private degree-level research institutes and a number of other prestigious and important. Although the city of Chandigarh MBBS and post-graduate study or undergraduate students is the lack of a medical college. To overcome this shortcoming in Chandigarh decided to establish a medical college. For this purpose, the Department of Medical Education and Research was created. NOC issued by the Government, in pursuance of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the UO vide No. 12013 / 31-90ME following broad objectives was launched in 1991 with the Government Medical College dated 15-01-91 (P ):

As and when required, from different specialties to provide facilities for conducting activities related research
Foundation stone laying ceremony of the 36.09 acres of land allotted by the Chandigarh Administration, Sector 32 on quilt India before January 20, 1991, by the Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar was. The college and the hospital building itself were started in 1991. Meanwhile, as the government medical college attached teaching hospital Prayaas Building, Sector 38, Sector 16, Chandigarh with the General Hospital started functioning.
College, Punjab University vide letter No. 8334 / miscellaneous MBBS course was granted provisional affiliation. Dated 12/09/91, and permanent affiliation vide letter No.2730 / A-4 / Misc. For filing annual 50 dated 03.04.99. The Medical College of Punjab University strictly / NEET by competitive examinations conducted by CBSE and JEE is based on merit. The first batch of 50 students in August 1991, was admitted and each subsequent year, the same batches were admitted. The first session, Mr. September, was inaugurated in 1991. Balasore opinion, then advisor to the Administrator of Chandigarh. The first batch of students in January 1996 by the Punjab University, made his final MBBS examination and their 12-month compulsory rotating internship completed in January 1997, the College, by the Government of India’s Ministry of Health has been recognized for the award MBBS degree and FW is effective from December 30, 1996, vide letter No.34 (41) 98-Med. / 21035 dated 11/9/98, and the Medical Council of India vide letter by No.MCI-34 has been included in the list of accredited medical colleges (41) 97-med / 2276 dated 04.25.97.

These cells have been lying dead for the past year. Rats feed on the softer parts of bodies and it is very difficult to prevent their decomposition. In addition, the water supply to the morgue was closed four months ago and IV category for room cleaning staff yet to bring water from blocks away. There is no proper waiting room for relatives of the dead.
