Job Title: Director of Fundraising and Communications
Responsible to: Chief Executive
Location: Victoria Charity Centre, 11 Belgrave Road, London, SW1V 1RB
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £60,000 plus benefits
Hours: Full Time – 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday 9.30am – 5.30pm, with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break)
Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal charity is a well-respected national charity that:
Supports anyone affected by the death of a baby
Works in partnership with health professionals to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care
Promotes and funds research that could help to reduce loss of babies’ lives.
Sands are seeking to appoint a new Director of Fundraising and Communications who, as part of the Senior Leadership Group, who will play a key role in ensuring the success of the charity. The post holder will be in a position to contribute to innovative and positive change and will lead the Fundraising and Communication teams to deliver the income and profile Sands needs to fulfil its strategic ambitions.
The key areas of responsibility will be:
As part of the Senior Leadership Group, take a lead role in the development and implementation of organisational strategy, specifically devising the Fundraising and Communications strategy.
To lead and develop Individual and Partnership Fundraising, devising and delivering an effective plan to increase and build income streams.
To review and develop the Sands ‘Shop’.
To build Sands’ brand and profile ensuring effective use of all communication channels, including traditional media, social media and the website.
To ensure effective and clear external communications support all of Sands’ work, enabling a clear focus on the mission of the organisation.
Develop strong channels for internal communications to ensure Sands is working effectively as one organisation.
Manage the Fundraising and Communications teams to achieve the effective delivery of the strategy and business plans.
