Administrators please review – “From Email”

Please check Advanced Settings > Maintain Settings > SYSTEM-EMAIL. This is the source address for emails generated through OneCampus – i.e., API notification emails, distributed publishing workflow emails, rating/review emails – all emails that come from OneCampus EXCEPT URL Checker reports and feedback emails. Please ensure this field accurately represents the preferred address. We have made a small change to this setting that will now result in “from” emails using the value you have entered in the SYSTEM-EMAIL field. It is important that you use a real email address in the field so that if users reply to OneCampus emails, replies go to the correct person or team at your institution. Or, use ‘no-reply@your-institution.edu

‘ or similar if you want to make it clear that replies will not go anywhere.

Administrators please review – Footer

Some of you were reporting odd footer behavior and positioning. We have made updates that should now fix your footer to the bottom of the page. If you made a taller footer to compensate for the odd positioning, feel free to update to the desired height and check again.

Default Role Filter (Optional)

By popular request, we have added a way for SAML 2.0 Authentication to pass the role attribute from the authentication source and default the role filter/dropdown in OneCampus when a user logs in. Please note this functionality will not work for those using basic CAS or Google Auth due to the core way those two authentication systems work.

This is a completely optional feature but for those that are interested, there are two pieces that must be

in place in order to take advantage of this new feature:

1)  Your authentication system must release your desired role attributes to OneCampus in addition to the required unique identifier. Most institutions are currently not passing this information in as an attribute.

2)  You must create a map in the tenant setting that identifies OneCampus what attribute value(s) from SAML equate to the role(s) created in OneCampus.

Under Advanced Settings > Maintain Settings > Application > ROLE-ASSIGNMENT-MAP create a map of the SAML attributes you are sending and the unique key for that role in OneCampus. For example, if “stu” is one of your SAML attributes that identifies a student role and you would like to map the “stu” attribute to your “Student” role created in OneCampus with a unique key of “student”, the role translation map should be entered as “stu=student”. Please note that you must use role unique keys in this mapping and NOT role displayed names. To have multiple entries in this setting, separate the entries with a comma (“,”) such as stu=student, fac=faculty, aff=affiliate.

You can also set multiple SAML role attributes to one role in OneCampus such as freshman=student, sophomore=student, junior=student, senior=student, stu=student, fac=faculty.

You will find a second new setting related to this feature under Advanced Settings > Maintain Settings > Application called ROLE-ASSIGNMENT-OPTIONS that will provide you with five different choices for how your roles are defaulted at time of user login.

Don’t show a message and manually selected roles remain selected (default option)

a) If nothing was manually selected by end user, role(s) will be defaulted by SSO.

b) If role was manually selected, manual selection stays but no notice is provided to end user.

2. Notify user on login and keep the manually selected roles

a) If nothing was manually selected by end user, role(s) will be defaulted by SSO.

b) If role was manually selected and same as what is being passed, roles stay and no notice is provided to end user.

c) If role was manually selected but different than what is being passed, manual selection stays but end user is notified with the below.

3. Notify user on login and change the manually selected roles to match SSO

a) If nothing was manually selected by end user, role(s) will be defaulted by SSO.

b) If role was manually selected and same as what is being passed, roles stay and no notice is provided to end user.

c) If role was manually selected but different than what is being passed, manual selection will be overridden by what is being passed and end user is notified with the below.

4. Don’t show a message and force the SSO roles

a) Whether or not roles were manually selected by the end user, roles will be defaulted to whatever is passed over by SSO – no notice of change will be provided to end user.

5. Don’t show a message, force the SSO roles, and hide the roles list.

*Please note: This option is only recommended when Advanced Settings > Maintain Settings > REQUIRE-LOGIN is enabled.

a) Whether or not roles were manually selected by the end user, roles will be defaulted to whatever is passed over by SSO and the role dropdown will be hidden.

If you have questions regarding this feature please email support@rsmart.com and our team will work one-on-one with your team to assist you in setting up the initial map.

Require Users to Login (Optional)

You can now require users to log into your tenant before accessing any of the OneCampus functionality. Visit Advanced Settings > Maintain Settings > Application > REQUIRE-LOGIN to turn this feature on. Once on, regardless of how a user may come to your site, he/she will be prompted to log into your authentication source before continuing on to OneCampus.

Copy Task Feature

To copy a task, visit Task Settings > Maintain Tasks and locate the task you wish to copy. You will find a new button on the far right titled “Copy”. Click this button in order to create an exact duplicate of the task, update the fields as need be and press save. Please note, that due to the way the unique key field works, we are appending a number onto the original task’s unique key as part of the copy process. Please update this field to reflect your unique key naming convention before pressing save. This functionality works for both Admins as well as Publishers.

Change Text on the “Successful Logout” Screen (Optional)

There is now the ability to customize the message that appears on the logout screen when a user has successfully logged out of OneCampus. The default text is “You have been successfully logged out” but you can now change this to whatever you’d like by clicking Advanced Settings > Maintain Settings > Application > LOGOUT-TEXT.

Enhanced Thumbnails for Videos

When adding videos to tasks under the “Screen Shots & Video” area, you will now find an additional field that will allow you to add a thumbnail, if desired. This thumbnail will appear in the thumbnail gallery/bar area of the task detail page in lieu of the default filmstrip icon. If you link to a YouTube or Vimeo video and do not upload a thumbnail, the thumbnail will be automatically generated. If you link to another type of video and do not upload a thumbnail, the default filmstrip icon will appear as the thumbnail for your video. For videos linked prior to this release, you will need to go back, delete the videos and relink them back in, in order to take advantage of this new feature. As a reminder please use the embed links for YouTube and Vimeo videos (see Maintain Tasks Quick Guide on how to pull this type of link).

Hide Tabs on TDP/TCP (Optional)

For those not currently using task level announcements, you now have the ability to hide the Announcements tab found on TDPs and TCPs by visiting Advanced Settings > Maintain Settings > Task Detail/Task Center Page > SHOW-ANNOUNCEMENT-TAB.

For those not using tags and/or that find the “Related Tasks” tab not optimal, you can hide this tab as well by flipping Advanced Settings > Maintain Settings > Task Detail/Task Center Page > SHOW-TDP-RELATED-TASKS-TAB to “no”. Please note that hiding this tab does not affect the way the search works with tags.

Enhanced Preview for Task and Global Announcements

We have enhanced the preview for task and global announcements to give you a better idea of how these announcements will display on the front “store” page.
