Art, science, foreign language and karate are just some of the classes available for elementary school students during after-school programs starting January 12.
A variety of classes will be hosted at 21 Round Rock ISD elementary schools and are divided into six, 10 and 12-week periods. Each class will feature new material from previous semesters.
“Community Education is a valuable learning opportunity in addition to the quality education our students receive in the classroom each day,” said Albert Hernandez, director of community education. “Students in our classes are able to reinforce their daily school work in a fun and interactive environment.”
Round Rock ISD Community Education works in conjunction with the YMCA to allow participants to alternate between the two after-school programs during the week.
Secondary and adult courses are also available through Community Education. SAT and ACT courses are offered at a cost to students at each of the district high schools. Adults can utilize education resources through English literacy classes or with Ed2Go online classes.
Families interested in signing up for the after-school, secondary and adult programs can visit the Community Education webpage at www.roundrockisd.org/CommunityEd. The deadline to register is the first day of class. Space is limited, so interested families should register as soon as possible.
