Microsoft is bringing its Wallet 2.0 app and NFC Tap to Pay with its Anniversary Windows 10 update (Update here to experience the awesome OS), scheduled for sometime this summer. Tap to Pay works only in the U.S right now and is made available to select participants in the fast ring of Microsoft's Insider program. Wallet 2.0 works with either credit or debit cards, or with loyalty or membership cards. When the app is launched for the first time, any cards linked with the user's Microsoft account will be imported for Tap to Pay.
New cards can either be added manually, by filling in a form, or by scanning them through the app. Once added, each card is verified via an SMS code to complete the process.
The new feature is expected to be available in the U.S. only at launch, although Microsoft has not publicly commented on this.
