Tidal wave of calls slammed Senators nationwide
I spoke to industry insiders this morning who confirmed that the offices of many U.S. Senators were hit hard with a “tidal wave of calls” from concerned Americans. Even many Republican senators are starting to come around on this issue, and GMO labeling continues to gain steam across the country as food consumers increase their demand for honest food labels and overall food transparency.
The Environmental Working Group released a statement on the victory:
In a major win for consumers, Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) failed to earn the votes he needed to stop debate on a bill known to opponents as the Deny Americans the Right to Know Act, or DARK Act.
According to EWG, the defeat of the DARK Act offers Congress the opportunity to find a compromise for a national mandatory GMO labeling measure that consumers and industry can support.
Scott Faber, senior vice president for government affairs, said:
“Consumers have made their voices heard to their elected representatives in the Senate and they said clearly, ‘We want the right to know more about our food.’ We are pleased that the Senate made the right decision to stop the DARK Act, and we remain hopeful that Congressional leaders can craft a national mandatory compromise that works for consumers and the food industry. We applaud Senators Debbie Stabenow, Jeff Merkley, Jon Tester, Barbara Boxer and Pat Leahy for their efforts to defeat the DARK Act.”
Scott Faber vindicated after mini civil war inside the labeling movement
The defeat of the DARK Act vindicates Scott Faber, who was previously accused by several pro-labeling industry insiders as siphoning money away from state ballot measures (Natural News covered this story and quoted three industry sources). However, it is clear from today’s victory that Scott Faber is working hard for labeling at the national level, and he deserves tremendous credit for today’s victory, regardless of the previous disagreements among labeling advocates in the “states vs. federal” debate.
It’s clear that the Environmental Working Group and the Just Label It campaign are both on the right track so far, and the EWG now tells Natural News that they fully support the Merkley bill created by Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore) which creates a national mandatory standard for GMO labeling.
As explained by Consumers Union:
Consumers Union, the policy and advocacy arm of Consumer Reports, today praised the introduction of the Biotechnology Food Labeling Uniformity Act. The legislation, sponsored by Senator Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), would create a national standard for GMO labeling and require food manufacturers to label products with GMO ingredients via one of several options on the ingredients list section of the Nutrition Facts Panel. Another option would give FDA the authority to develop a symbol, in consultation with food manufacturers, which would disclose the presence of GM ingredients on packaging.
Jean Halloran, director of food policy initiatives for Consumers Union, said, “This is what real disclosure looks like. This bill finds a way to set a national standard and avoid a patchwork of state labeling laws while still giving consumers the information they want and deserve about what’s in their food. This compromise offers food companies different labeling options and ensures that all consumers – no matter where they are in the country or whether they own a smartphone – have the information they overwhelmingly say they want. We urge Senators to support this proposal as they move forward on GMO labeling legislation.”
Merkley’s bill comes the day after the Senate Agriculture Committee voted to move forward an anti-consumer bill that would preempt state GMO labeling laws and direct USDA to develop duplicative standards for voluntary labeling and promote biotechnology. The legislation, which is supported by biotech giants and some of the country’s largest food companies, is the latest attempt to block a Vermont law requiring labeling on the package of genetically engineered food sold in the state before it goes in to effect July 1.
Consumers Union is urging consumers to call on their lawmakers to oppose preemption of state GMO labeling laws, and to support meaningful, mandatory on-package labeling for GMO foods, including engineered animals like salmon and engineered produce and processed food. Ted Cruz just got slaughtered at the polls after declaring his support for Monsanto; pro-GMO Republican establishment now in state of total collapse

(NaturalNews) Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz suffered nationwide devastating defeats at the polls just one day after denouncing health-conscious Americans as “anti-science zealots” for their opposition to GMOs. In a shameless endorsement of agrichemical giant Monsanto during an Iowa speech, Cruz made it known that he was all-in for the agricultural establishment that poisons America with weed killers and toxic GMOs linked to cancer.
But Ted Cruz didn’t just casually say he supported Monsanto; he went out of his way to parrot Monsanto’s talking points and domineering arrogance, choosing to insult tens of millions of health-conscious Americans by calling them “anti-science zealots” and mocking their legitimate concern over pesticides, herbicides and GMOs in food.
A man who would unwittingly eat a horrific booger on national live television, in other words, doesn’t think Americans should have the right to know what they’re eating, either. Somehow, this is just as grotesque.

In less than 24 hours after my article ran, Ted Cruz got absolutely slaughtered at the polls, all but ending his attempt to challenge Donald Trump for the Republican nomination.
Riding an accelerating wave of anti-establishment sentiment from Americans who are fed up with being lied to, poisoned, over-medicated and economically punished by bad government, Donald Trump achieved resounding victories in Florida (yep, Rubio is out!), Illinois and North Carolina, with Missouri results too close to call at the time of this writing.
Ted Cruz didn’t win anywhere, and while he did pick up a few delegates for his partial losses, it has become increasingly clear to everyone that Ted Cruz can’t beat Donald Trump. Nor can he beat Hillary Clinton, for that matter, because his overly preachy demeanor and holier-than-thou attitude is nakedly offensive to nearly everyone except the delusional devout.
Nor is Ted Cruz even a constitutional liberty supporter as he claims to be, or else he would support the right of all Americans to freely choose what food they eat by supporting honest food labeling. There is no freedom to choose if your choices are concealed by a corrupt cabal of Washington sellouts who are little more than legislative prostitutes for corporate interests. Hence my new nickname for Ted Cruz: “Monsatan’s Preacher.”

Bernie Sanders totally supports GMO labeling
On the Democrat side of things, Hillary Clinton is a complete Monsanto sellout… she actually did legal work for the biotech giant when she worked at a law firm in Arkansas. Bernie Sanders, in contrast, brings a breath of fresh air to the issue by fully supporting GMO labeling laws like the one passed in Vermont, his home state.
Sadly, the Hillary Clinton criminal elections machine has already steamrolled Sanders’ chances, as the DNC obviously pre-decided that Hillary would be the Democrat nominee long before any votes were cast. (The DNC does not believe the choice of their nominee should be left up the their voters, after all… and neither does the GOP for that matter.)
If Sanders had been able to beat Hillary Clinton, he would instantly be the anti-GMO choice for President. Sadly, he appears to have already been mathematically “extinguished” due to the rigged superdelegates controlled by the Clinton camp, which is staffed and run by criminals worthy of being prosecuted for treason.
Donald Trump remains a wild card on the issue of GMOs and food
So where does Donald Trump stand on the issue of GMOs and honest food labeling? We honestly don’t know yet.
There have been clues that Trump supports organics, and he’s definitely an anti-establishment personality. He’s also from New York, which tends to be more progressive on issues of clean food and food transparency. Doctor Oz, for example, runs his show out of New York and has been a remarkable pioneer in teaching the public about food issues.
But until Trump actually says something on the record about Monsanto, we can’t be quite sure where he stands on the issue. There was a tweet that went out a few months ago from his account which implied that Iowans might have made poor choices in their votes due to them being poisoned by genetically modified corn, but Trump retracted that tweet by saying it came from a staffer, not himself. Perhaps he really did tweet it but decided the backlash from Iowa was too great to let it stand.
So as of right now, we remain in limbo on the Trump question when it comes to GMOs and Monsanto.
Ted Cruz a traitor to the American people
What we know for sure is that Ted Cruz is a Monsanto shill and a traitor to all Americans who seek the right to choose safer food. We also know that the GOP establishment that has long supported Monsanto just COLLAPSED with the desperate demise of Marco Rubio (and Jeb Bush before that, thank goodness).
The pro-biotech Republican establishment has just imploded. The masses of America have now turned anti-establishment in record numbers… this is a watershed moment for this nation, as every single attempt by the media, the GOP insiders and all the big money lobbyists to push another Monsanto-controlled Republican puppet into the White House has utterly failed.
Make no mistake that Donald Trump is NOT owned by Monsanto. And my guess is that he’s very likely to support honest food labeling for America.

Ted Cruz goes all-in for Monsanto; insults tens of millions of health-conscious Americans by calling them ‘anti science zealots’

(NaturalNews) U.S. presidential candidate and Texas senator Ted Cruz went all-in for Monsanto on the campaign trail in Iowa, parroting Monsanto’s propaganda by proclaiming that GMOs are feeding the world while insulting health-conscious consumers by equating support of GMO labeling with “anti-science zealotry.”
At the Iowa Agricultural Summit, Cruz revealed that he in effect fully supports the mass poisoning of the American people with hidden (unlabeled) GMOs, cancer-causing glyphosate herbicide, farmer suicides caused by GMO crop failures and the widespread genetic pollution unleashed by genetically modified crops. “[W]e shouldn’t let anti-science zealotry shutdown the ability to produce low-cost quality food for billions across the globe,” he stated, invoking a false claim that’s actually a widely disproven Monsanto talking point. Hilariously, in making that statement, Ted Cruz also implies that he is literate on scientific issues. This alone is highly questionable. He may be a brilliant constitutional scholar and student of the law, but he knows next to nothing about the health effects, environmental impacts and genetic pollution risk of GM crops. He could start by reading Altered Genes, Twisted Truth: How the Venture to Genetically Engineer Our Food Has Subverted Science, Corrupted Government, and Systematically Deceived the Public.

The right to bear arms but not to read accurate food labels
In choosing Monsanto over the health and food freedom of the American people, Ted Cruz joins Hillary Clinton as a Frankenfood pusher who believes that Americans should not only be fed cancer-causing herbicide chemicals that are being banned all across the globe; he also apparently believes that the American people have no right to know whether they’re even eating toxic GMOs.
As Natural News readers know very well, I am a supporter of the Second Amendment and believe that the right for law-abiding citizens to acquire firearms shall not be infringed by government. Ted Cruz agrees with this particular position, but he opposes the right of citizens to have access to honest food labels that describe the GMO content of the food they’re buying. And in this, he is demonstrating his disturbing failure to think with consistency.
In effect, Ted Cruz believes that Americans have the right to buy a gun, but not to read a label. Apparently GMOs are far more dangerous than guns in the mind of Ted Cruz, because GMOs must be hidden from the public even as guns are readily accessible.
While people like Ted Cruz routinely invoke the right of self defense against violence as one justification for access to firearms, he simultaneously denies the right of self defense against chemical violence by failing to support the public’s access to accurate GMO labels. (You can have a GUN, in other words, but you’re not allowed to have a LABEL.)
Even worse, he insults all those Americans who share ever rising concerns over food pesticides, herbicides and chemical contaminants that the scientific literature overwhelmingly proves can cause cancer. If only guns could provide personal protection against pesticides, then Ted Cruz might find himself on the right side of this argument… but that’s not how chemistry works. Chemicals are insidious, slow, invisible killers thatcommit violence on a cellular basis, day after day, meal after meal, until the victim is rendered diseased and ultimately dead. The primary defense against chemical violence is CHEMICAL AVOIDANCE. And that avoidance can only be achieved through the kind of honest food labeling that Ted Cruz opposes… even ridicules.
Here’s a gun you can use to kill someone else, Cruz might say to a citizen. “But we offer you no defense against the chemicals in food that are killing YOU.” Your right to self defense, in other words, ends where Monsanto’s weedkiller profits begin.
Ted Cruz, it seems, is simultaneously opposed to criminal violence while wholly in support of chemical violence. This stance is self-contradictory. If you believe in the right of self defense, then you must believe in the right of Americans to exercise informed self defense against chemicals that cause harm, too. And the only way to exercise self defense against the chemical violence committed by the agrichemical giants is to have access to honest, accurate food labels that reveal the genetically engineered content inside those products. It is this access to accurate food labels that Ted Cruz inexplicably opposes… even insults… in precisely the same way the political left ridicules lawful gun owners who seek an effective means of self defense against criminal violence.
A violation of God and Biblical principles
Perhaps even worse than the betrayal of fundamental constitutional principles of liberty, by going all-in for Monsanto, Ted Cruz joins forces with the most evil corporate entity on planet Earth. Because Ted Cruz claims to be a supporter of Christianity, Biblical principles and God’s creation, his betrayal on GMOs is far more than a political betrayal; it is spiritual treason against God.
Monsanto has taken a corn crop that was perfected through natural selective breeding by early humans, then turned it into a food POISON that damages the kidneys, liver and reproductive organs. This is a treasonous act against humanity, Mother Nature and even God.
By supporting Monsanto, Ted Cuz is openly encouraging a devious corporate entity that systematically violates the laws of Mother Nature and believes that Man’s engineered (poisonous) seeds are superior to God’s seeds that gave rise to nutritious corn via natural selection (humans working in harmony with nature to gradually shape phenotype genetic expression of food crops). The imperialist pushing of GM corn, for example, has led to the agricultural eugenics wipeout of diverse corn species across Mexico. It has simultaneously collapsed the diversity of the seed supply in states like Texas, where seed diversity for home gardeners has plummeted as biotech corporate giants bought up seed companies and shut them down.
Not only does Monsanto seek to overthrow Mother Nature’s seeds with its own genetically engineered seeds, it has aggressively sought to dominate the intellectual property of seeds that produce food for the entire nation, incessantly acquiring patent monopolies over many forms of food crops, food producing ranch animals and agricultural chemicals.
To put this into Ted Cruz’s evangelical language, no servant of God can side with Monsatan without committing spiritual treason. By proclaiming his treacherous partnership with Monsanto and the biotech industry, Ted Cruz aligns himself more with the Devil than with God. The Devil seeks power and domination over Man… and so does Monsanto. The Devil operates out of deviousness and deceit… and so does Monsanto. The Devil wields power by fear, intimidation and threats… and so does Monsanto. If this is Ted Cruz’s partner in his quest for the highest position of power in America, he is adamantly unqualified to lead any man or nation into anything other than darkness and destruction.

Ted Cruz abandons constitutional liberty and joins the totalitarian agricultural establishment
Beyond the spiritual and political implications of his siding with Monsanto, Ted Cruz has also abandoned his constitutional principles of American liberty in dismissing anti-GMO citizens who oppose deadly herbicides and seed monopolies.
Americans only possess the liberty to choose what to eat when that liberty is made possible by accurate food labeling. To side with Monsanto is to join forces with the DARK Act proponents who seek to crush all honest food labeling laws across America (such as Vermont’s GMO labeling law, set to go live this summer). Ted Cruz’s future for America is a future full of cancer, crop failures, starvation and disease, where corporations like Monsanto own all the intellectual property of seeds, placing farmers into de facto indentured servitude, all while the crony capitalist banksters pocket trillions in profits that are invisibly stolen from the working class via fiat currency money printing and fraudulent quantitative easing (currency debasement). It is a future wracked with poverty, suffering, disease and destitution, where America collapses into a third world nation of impoverished sheeple who are all systematically poisoned by insidious agriculture giants that serve as the new donor class for political power.
The corporate giants that dominate America’s food supply today are nothing less than agricultural totalitarians, filled with hatred for health-conscious consumers, clean food and food transparency. Ted Cruz now has ties to both Goldman Sachs and Monsanto, two of most destructive entities on the planet
No doubt the agricultural giants are now supporting Ted Cruz in precisely the same way the criminal central banksters do, too. Via his wife, Ted Cruz also has ties to Goldman Sachs, an entity that carries out global economic arson and unbridled destruction that rivals the agricultural and chemical destruction of Monsanto and the biotech industry.
With these allies in his corner, Ted Cruz has become the establishment he once claimed he would dismantle. He has become an enemy of truth and health and an ally of deception and death. He has sold his soul to Satan and demonstrated, for all the nation to see without question, that when the American people are dying from the very cancers that are caused by toxic glyphosate weedkiller and GMO crops, Ted Cruz will side with the agrichemical giants that are profiting from that poison.
Ted Cruz, it now seems, has become the Hillary Clinton of the right.

With both Hillary Clinton and Ted Cruz now totally sold out to Monsanto, there’s only one choice remaining in each of the two dominant political parties in America.
Bernie Sanders is openly supportive of GMO labeling. It’s his own state — Vermont — that passed the nation’s only GMO labeling law that’s set to become active in just a few months. Perhaps for this reason, Sanders has become a favorite among anti-GMO activists and clean food activists. (Sadly, they do not yet fully grasp the economic destruction caused by socialism, but that’s another topic for another website…)
On the political right, Donald Trump supports organic food but hasn’t yet made a public position statement on Monsanto and GMO labeling, so he’s a wild card in that arena but appears to lean towards organic. (It’s just one of his many seemingly centrist positions that could cross party lines and appeal to many democrats.)
Whoever you vote for in the primaries or the general election, don’t let it be Hillary Clinton (the Bride of Frankenfood) or Ted Cruz (Monsatan’s Preacher). If God won’t forgive either of these two people for their betrayal of humanity… you shouldn’t give them your vote, either.

(NaturalNews) Another skeleton is coming out of Monsanto’s closet, and its implication will forever change how we view the relationship between corporations, scientific literature and government regulators. The infamous corporation is now being exposed for hijacking a science journal to suppress the facts that their popular glyphosate herbicide causes horrific cancer tumors in rats.
The public relations and advertising monsters for Monsanto know full well that if they can convince the scientific community that their genetically modified organisms and agrochemicals are safe, then they can con the rest of the world to follow along, including environmental regulators, farmers and consumers.
But spraying the food of people around the world with cancer-causing chemicals is no advertising game, and it’s not a profit to be proud of. That’s why Monsanto engineered an all-out takeover of a prominent science journal in an attempt to suppress independent research that would forever destroy public opinion of GMOs and glyphosate.
Seralini’s studies prove Monsanto’s ‘science’ to be a fraud
Public opinion on GMOs drastically shifted when people started finding out about professor Seralini’s independent studies showing how GMOs cause large cancer tumors in rats. People everywhere began to wonder what these genetic alterations of food would do to their bodies over time. Was the human race equipped to handle such wide scale applications of a herbicide that can destroy the microbiology of the human gut? Why weren’t these genetic manipulations of nature being labeled as such on food packaging? Are growing human cancer rates connected to daily consumption of these mystery GMOs?
The most appalling fact about Seralini’s research is that he used the same methods and procedures Monsanto scientists used when they proved to the world that their GMO maize was safe for consumption. Seralini’s re-testing and re-evaluation of Monsanto “science” elicited completely different results than what the corporation had initially reported. Using the same rat feeding protocol, the independent researchers found signs of toxicity in raw data for Monsanto’s GM maize.
When Seralini’s research was published in the journal Food and Chemical Toxicology, Monsanto fired back with unrelenting force. Under pressure from the biotech industry, the eye-opening Seralini studies were retracted. The French magazine Marianne called the study a “scientific fraud,” and an all-out public relations war was waged against the independent scientists who exposed Monsanto’s products for what they really are: poison. The journal that published and then retracted the Seralini study quickly created a new position in their company – the Associate Editor for Biotechnology. The position was immediately filled by a former Monsanto employee.
Seralini wins two important lawsuits, validating his eye-opening research
After two years of suppression, the Seralini study re-emerged in the peer-reviewed journal, Environmental Sciences Europe. In a major victory for food transparency and food freedom, Seralini won two lawsuits, validating his work, and shedding light on the poisonous nature of Monsanto’s products, as well as the bully tactics they use to “prove” the scientific safety of their products.
The former chairman of France’s Biomolecular Engineering Commission, Marc Fellous, has been indicted for forgery and libel against Seralini. The biotechnology operative is being charged with “the use of forgery” to authorize several questionable GM crops for consumption. Marc Fellous copied the signature of a scientist to validate GMOs and to discredit Seralini’s studies. Fellous lost an important libel trial to Seralini in November of 2015.
On top of that, the Marianne magazine also lost a defamation lawsuit to Seralini. In turns out that Seralini’s studies weren’t “scientific fraud” as the magazine asserted. In fact, Seralini’s independent research serves an important, eye-opening and moral purpose for countries and regulators that have to deal with Monsanto’s lies, bribery and hijacking of scientific journals.
