Call it one of many of Obama’s dirty secrets. Washington covertly recruits, funds, arms, trains, and directs extremist Islamic State and other Takfiri terrorists
The same ones it lies about waging war on. Uses them as proxies against its adversaries.
Notably during Obama’s tenure against Libya’s Gaddafi. Currently against Assad in Syria. Ahead against future enemies to be named later.
Iran very much in Washington’s cross hairs. Longstanding US regime change plans remain firm.

Calling Yousaf Al Salafi an IS Pakistani commander.
In detention in Pakistan, he admitted getting funds from America. On January 22, he and two associates were arrested in Lahore, said AFP.
According to the English language newspaper The Express Tribune:
“During investigations, (Al Salafi) revealed that he was getting funding – routed through America – to run an organization in Pakistan and recruit young people to fight in Syria.”
The information came from its sister Urdu language Daily Express. From a source close to Pakistan’s investigation on condition of anonymity. Saying Al Salafi was arrested in December.
Admitted getting $600 per recruit. Worked with at least one accomplice. Reportedly a Pakistani imam. According to the unnamed source:
“The US has been condemning the IS activities but unfortunately has not been able to stop funding of these organizations, which is being routed through the US.”
“The US had to dispel the impression that it is financing the group for its own interests, and that is why it launched offensive (actions) against the organization in Iraq but not in Syria.”
Its oil facilities, infrastructure, grain silos and other non-military sites are targeted. Scores of civilians were killed.
IS fighters remain largely unscathed. New ones enter Syria through Turkey, Jordan and Israel’s Golan.
According to a Pakistani security source, recruiting IS fighters “was raised several several times (by) local media” reports.
“(E)ven in the diplomatic corridors between US and Pakistan…(M)edia reporters here suggest(ed) that hundreds of recruits have been exported from Pakistan.”
The issue was discussed with John Kerry on his recent Islamabad visit.
“The matter was also taken up with CENTCOM (US Central Command) chief, General Lloyd Austin, during his visit to Islamabad earlier this month,” an unnamed source said.
Reuters was told Al Salafi is a Pakistani-Syrian. Came to Pakistan via Turkey. Arrived five months ago. Established a Pakistani-based IS group.
Local media report growing internal IS influence. Citing incidents in Lahore and Multan. Where IS flags and graffiti are clearly visible.
Last year, Obama began bombing claimed IS sites in Iraq and Syria. Washington wants unchallenged regional control.
Fear-mongering is longstanding US practice. Obama nonsensically calls IS “unique…If left unchecked, these terrorists could pose a growing threat beyond (the) region, including to the United States,” he claims.
Washington’s objectives include controlling regional oil. Installing pro-Western puppet regimes.
Balkanizing iraq into the Kurdish north, Baghdad center and Basra south. Controlling the country more effectively this way.
Ousting Assad. Eliminating a key Israeli rival. Replacing him with a US-friendly stooge. Isolating Iran. Its turn awaits US regime change plans.
America’s dark side threatens world peace. Obama wants congressional authority for unconstrained war. Billions of dollars in funding.
America’s longstanding business is war. Obama calls it US “leadership.” International law calls it naked aggression.
Based on Big Lies. With no just cause. No existential or other threats. No legal standing regardless of congressional action.
Security Council members alone may authorize war. Every US post-WW II one was illegal. Including ongoing direct and proxy ones. New ones planned.
War is America’s strategy of choice. Permanent ones. Dirty ones. Waged without mercy. Against nations US forces can easily roll over.
How many more countries will America ravage and destroy? How many more victims will die?
Wars won”t end when Obama leaves office. Whoever replaces him will continue them seamlessly. Wage new ones.
Expect no end to mass slaughter and destruction. Not as long as lunatics run the Washington asylum.
The only solution is nonviolent revolution. The alternative is continued death, destruction and growing homeland repression.

MERKEL CALLS FOR “TOLERANCE” TOWARDS MIGRANTS AFTER PARIS MASSACRE
Open border policy likely to come under intense scrutiny after last night’s bloodshed

German Chancellor Angela Merkel responded to the Paris massacre by calling for “tolerance” towards migrants and respect for “the right of everyone to seek his fortune and live,” as her policy of allowing in hundreds of thousands of refugees came under fresh scrutiny.
“We believe in the right of everyone to seek his fortune and live, to the respect for the other and tolerance,” said Merkel. “We know that our free life is stronger than any terrorist. Let’s give the terrorists the answer by living our values confidently. And as we affirm these values throughout Europe. Now more than ever.”
Just last month, top security experts warned Merkel that the middle class in Germany is becoming “radicalized” in response to the migrant influx and that domestic unrest may occur as a result.
The warning was “circulated among high-ranking security officials in the federal government,” according to the report.
With Poland already announcing that it will refuse to take in any more refugees after the bloody attacks in Paris, Merkel’s open border policy, already under fierce criticism, is likely to face intense opposition given ISIS’ vow to smuggle in jihadists amidst the waves of migrants.
Meanwhile, Front National leader Marine Le Pen struck a far different tone to Merkel, calling on France to tighten its borders.
“France must determine who its friends are and who its enemies are. France’s enemies are those who maintain links with Islamism. Once and for all, France must recapture control of its borders,” said Le Pen.
“Islamist fundamentalism must be destroyed, radical mosques must be closed and radicals clerics must be expelled. French terrorists must be stripped of their citizenship and banned from this country.”

ARIS (Reuters) – France must “annihilate” Islamist radicals and regain control of its borders, the far-right National Front party leader Marine Le Pen said on Saturday after deadly attacks in the French capital.
“Urgent action is needed,” Le Pen told reporters the day after 127 people were killed in assaults on cafes, a concert hall and a soccer stadium.
“Islamist fundamentalism must be annihilated, France must ban Islamist organizations, close radical mosques and expel foreigners who preach hatred in our country as well as illegal migrants who have nothing to do here,” she said.
Islamic State claimed responsibility on Saturday for a coordinated assault by gunmen and bombers at locations across Paris, which President Francois Hollande said amounted to an act of war against France.
Polls have been suggesting that Le Pen, known for her strong speeches against immigration, is likely to win regional elections in northern France in December. Surveys also see her making it to the second round of the presidential election in 2017, although not winning the run-off.
Europe is facing a chaotic flow of migrants, many of them from predominantly Muslim countries, seeking peace and prosperity in Europe. Close to a million people have entered the bloc over the past few months, threatening Europe’s unity as its leaders argue about how to handle the crisis.
“It is absolutely necessary that France regains control of its borders,” she said.

François Hollande Declared “We Will Be Merciless” After Suffering 153 Casualties While Turkey’s Erdogan Threatened To Send More Floods Of Muslims To Europe

Currently at the Bataclan, François Hollande spoke: “We will lead our fight will be merciless when terrorists are capable of such atrocities they must know that they will face them a united France,. determined and collected. ”
According to police the raid at Bataclan was “carnage, a horror scene they attacked with grenades.” A journalist on Europe 1 said “two or three individuals unmasked returned with automatic weapons type Kalashnikov and fired blindly into the crowd.” Attacks are currently still underway in Paris in Trocadero and Chatelet and the GIGN was in place near Les Halles. Le Bataclan is being evacuated. According to a hostage who managed to leave, the gunmen fired in bursts before a deathly silence. The police have returned and the wounded were evacuated first. In summary, here is the situation in Paris. Several attacks took place Friday night. According to a source close to the investigation, seven different points have been attacked:
► Explosions close to the Stade de France (Saint-Denis)
► Theater Bataclan (eleventh arrondissement)
► Boulevard Voltaire
► At the corner of rue Bichat and rue Alibert
► Avenue of the Republic
► Boulevard Beaumarchais
► Rue Charonne
112 were killed at Bataclan venue; 14 at Petit Cambodge restaurant; 19 outside La Belle Epuipe bar; 4 on Ave de le République 4 outside stadium. Total 153 casualties.
President Francois Hollande declared a state of emergency and the closure of all borders, airports and trains ordering his army to “show cold blood”. Terrorists are still on the loose.
At 1:36 a Council of Ministers met and adopted a decree declaring a state of emergency. “It takes effect immediately throughout the metropolitan territory and in Corsica. It forbids the movement of people and to institute protection and security areas,” said a statement from the presidency of the Republic.
Paris is like the movie the Siege. 1,500 additional soldiers were also mobilized.
At 1:26 metro stations have closed. Eight of the Paris metro stations near the Republic Square were closed Friday night after the attacks in the capital.
The Temple stations, Parmentier, Jacques-Bonsergent Oberkampf, Daughters of Calvary, Strasbourg Saint-Denis, Goncourt and Arts-and-crafts, nearby places of some attacks in the 10th and 11th districts were closed ” at the request of police. ”
According to the police headquarters, bus traffic that pass through these neighborhoods are interrupted.

In the meanwhile and despite the situation of Muslim terrorism in Europe, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey still threatened to implicitly increase the migrant flow to the EU while complaining about inadequate cooperation from the bloc as it plans to hold a summit with Turkey to discuss ways to stem the migrant flow.
“What would happen if the 2.2 million Syrian refugees currently in Turkey all march toEurope?” Erdoğan said, criticizing the EU for closing its borders while his country is struggling to cope with the presence of a large number of migrants.
By escalating the conflict in Syria and Iraq and sending floods of Muslim immigrants to Europe, he is certainly fulfilling Revelation 11-12, the “Red Dragon” who spews out his flood and increase dramatically the flight of Muslim refugees to Europe to cause havoc. European Union member states are at loggerheads over the refugees and migrants from other countries. Even the media has recognized that Erdogan is within reach to becoming “sultan-in-chief”. In other words, Erdogan will become the nominee to become the first recognized Caliph after the fall of the Ottoman Empire. All this is the beginning wars between Islamdom and Christendom.

Can Obama Level with the People?

Another terrorist outrage – this one in Paris – is spreading fear and fury across Europe. Which makes this a key moment for President Obama to finally level with the American people about how U.S. “allies” — such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar — have been aiding and abetting extremists, reports Robert Parry.

The atrocities in Paris, killing more than 120 people, have brought forth the usual condemnations against terrorism and expressions of sympathy for the victims, but the larger question is whether this latest shock will finally force Western leaders to address the true root causes of the problem.
Will President Barack Obama and other leaders finally level with the American people and the world about what the underlying reasons for this madness are? Will Obama explain how U.S. “allies” in the Middle East, such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar, have been fueling this Sunni extremism for years? Will he dare recognize that Israeli repression of the Palestinians is a major contributing factor, too?
On a practical level, will Obama finally release those 28 pages from the congressional 9/11 report that addressed evidence of Saudi support for the hijackers who attacked New York and Washington in 2001?
Does he have the courage to explain how this scourge of Sunni terrorism can be traced back even further to the late 1970s when President Jimmy Carter started a small-scale covert operation in Afghanistan to destabilize a Moscow-backed secular regime in Kabul and that President Ronald Reagan then vastly expanded the program with the help of the Saudis, pouring in a total of $1 billion a year and giving rise to Saudi militant Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda?
Can Obama be convinced that telling hard truths to the American people is not only vital to a democratic Republic in a philosophical way but can have the practical effect of creating crucial public support for rational policies? Will he realize that propaganda schemes or “strategic communications” may be clever short-term tricks to manipulate the American people but they are ultimately counterproductive and dangerous?
Will Obama finally take on Official Washington’s well-entrenched neoconservatives and their “liberal interventionist” junior varsity by challenging their innumerable false narratives? Will he pointedly blame the neocons and the liberal hawks, including those who run the editorial pages of The Washington Post and The New York Times, for the disastrous Iraq War? Will he take on the “deep state” dug in at the big-name think tanks, not just at neocon havens like the American Enterprise Institute but at the center-left Brookings Institution?
Can the President muster the courage to ally himself with the American people, arming them with real information, so they can act like true citizens in a Republic rather than cattle being herded toward the slaughterhouse? Can he shake his own elitism or his fear of social ostracism to somehow become a true leader in his last year in office, rather than a timid follower of the prevailing “group think”?
Just because the “important people” have fancy credentials and went to the “right” schools, doesn’t mean that they have any monopoly on wisdom. Indeed, in my nearly four decades covering Official Washington, these “smart” folks have been wrong a lot more than they have been right. A leader of historic dimensions recognizes that reality and takes on the know-it-alls. In this case, a leader who enlists the American public by giving them reliable information could change this depressing dynamic.
If Obama could muster such courage and show trust in the people, he could bend the prevailing false narratives in the direction of truth and reality. On a practical level, he could help make the current Syrian peace talks succeed by stopping his endless repeating of the neocon/liberal-hawk mantra blaming President Bashar al-Assad for the entire mess and insisting that “Assad must go.” [See Consortiumnews.com’s “Hidden Origins of Syria’s Civil War.” here]
Twist Some Arms
Instead, Obama could twist the arms of his Saudi, Qatari and Turkish “friends” to get them to halt their financing and military support for Sunni jihadists associated with Al Qaeda and its various spin-offs, like the Islamic State and al-Nusra Front. And he could work cooperatively with Russian President Vladimir Putin to squeeze concessions out of both the Assad regime and the U.S.-financed “moderate” opposition so a unity government can begin to restore order in Syria and isolate the extremists.
Once some security is achieved, the Syrian people could hold elections to decide their own future and pick their own leaders. That should not be the business of either Obama or Putin.
As part of this effort, Obama could finally release the U.S. intelligence analyses on both jihadist funding and the circumstances surrounding the lethal sarin attack outside Damascus on Aug. 21, 2013, which the Obama administration hastily blamed on Assad’s regime although later evidence pointed toward a likely a provocation by Sunni extremists. To create crucial space for cooperating with Putin, Obama also could let the American people in on the reality about the Ukraine crisis in 2014, which was used by the neocons and liberal hawks to drive a wedge between Obama and Putin. U.S. intelligence analysts know a lot about key turning points in that conflict, including the Feb. 20, 2014 sniper attacks, which set the stage for ousting elected President Viktor Yanukovych two days later, and the July 17, 2014 shoot-down of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, which was used to build an anti-Putin hysteria. I’m told that these tragedies became propaganda weapons to deploy against Assad, Yanukovych and Putin rather than horrific crimes that deserved serious investigation and accountability. But whatever the ultimate conclusion about who is to blame for these crimes, why has Obama withheld from the American people what U.S. intelligence analysts know about those three incidents?
It was Obama, after all, who talked so much about “transparency” and trusting the American people as a candidate and during his first days in office. But since then, he has conformed to the elitist Orwellian approach of managing our perceptions rather than giving us the facts.
Yet, if Obama could get his cooperation with Putin back on track – recognizing how useful it was in 2013 when Putin helped Obama get Assad to surrender all his chemical weapons and assisted in wresting important concessions from Iran about its nuclear program – then the two powers could also weigh in on securing a peace agreement between the Israelis and the Palestinians, another major irritant to peace in the region.
Indeed, it appears that the possibility of Obama and Putin working together to force the Israelis to make meaningful concessions for peace was a factor in the neocon determination to turn an eminently manageable political dispute in Ukraine – over the pace of its integration into Europe without rending its ties to Russia – into the dangerous frontlines of a new Cold War.
The neocons and liberal hawks outmaneuvered Obama who fell in line with the Putin-bashing, all the better to fit within Official Washington’s in-crowd.
Thus, the Syrian crisis was left to fester with Obama acquiescing to neocon/liberal-hawk demands for arming and training “moderate” rebels although the President recognized that the idea was a “fantasy.” He also resisted some of the more extreme ideas, like an outright U.S. military invasion of Syria framed as a humanitarian “safe zone.”
But the Paris tragedy is another reminder that it is well past time for Obama to resurrect his helpful relationship with Putin and restore the teamwork that held such promise toward settling conflicts through negotiations, along the lines of the Iran nuclear deal.
If Obama were to choose that route – which could be implemented through a combination of truth-telling to the American people and pragmatic big-power diplomacy with Russia – he could at least start addressing the underlying causes of the violence tearing apart the Middle East and now spreading into Europe.
Or will Obama’s reaction to the Paris attacks be just more of the same – more tough-guy talk about “resolve,” more “targeted” killings that slaughter many innocents as “collateral damage,” more tolerance of Saudi-Turkish-Qatari support for Sunni militants in Syria and elsewhere, more acceptance of hard-line Israeli repression of the Palestinians, more giving in to neocon/liberal-hawk demands for “regime change” in the neocons’ preferred list of countries?
If the history of the past seven years is any guide, there’s little doubt which direction President Obama will choose. He will go with Official Washington’s flow; he’ll worry about what the editorialists at the Post and Times might think of him; he’ll accommodate the neocons and liberal hawks who remain influential inside his own administration. In short, he’ll continue down the road toward destruction.

Per the UK Daily Mail, “this harrowing image has emerged from inside the Bataclan theatre where terrorists opened fire on concertgoers on Friday night – killing at least 89 people and injuring dozens, possibly hundreds, more.”
The photograph, taken in the wake of the attack, shows the blood-stained interior of the concert hall where bodies remain lying on the ground and the floor is still covered in debris.
The video footage below shows the moment the members of U.S. rock band Eagles of Death Metal stopped their performance midway through a song when the gunfire broke out and the drummer dives for cover.
More information is emerging about the attackers.
“Serbian media claims Ahmed Almuhamed, 25, whose Syrian passport was found on the body of a suicide bomber, allegedly blew himself up at the Bataclan concert hall.
The newspaper Blic claims Almuhamed arrived with another of the bombers in Europe on the Greek island of Leros on October 3 on his way to Paris. Greek website Protothema have published ferry tickets showing the name of a second man, Mohammed Almuhamed, who could be a relation.
Survivors have claimed that a woman was among the group shooting randomly into the crowd at the gig before three blew themselves up and a fourth person was shot dead by police before they could detonate their bomb.
At least 129 people died in Paris on Friday night after eight terrorists, including one as young as 15, attacked the Stade de France, restaurants and the packed Bataclan concert hall armed with AK-47s, grenades and wearing suicide vests.
One of the attackers has been named locally as homegrown terrorist Omar Ismaël Mostefai, 29, from Courcouronnes, Paris. The petty criminal was known to police as a radical and identified by the fingerprint on a severed digit found after he detonated his suicide belt.
It is believed two of the bombers were carrying Syrian passports. At least two others are believed to be French while several could also be Belgian.
The disclosure that some may have entered Europe as migrants, which came amid claims of French intelligence failures, inevitably raises new security concerns about the safety of Europe’s borders.”
And as we just reported here, Syrians are now on their way to our shores. These horrific images remind us of the price we will inevitably have to pay for open borders and lax vigilance.

AP: PARIS SUSPECT SALEH ABDESLAM QUESTIONED AND RELEASED HOURS AFTER ATTACKS

PARIS (AP) — The latest on the deadly attacks in Paris. (All times local):
9:50 p.m.
Four French officials have told The Associated Press that police questioned and released the fugitive suspect hours after the Paris attacks.
The questioning came when police pulled over a car near the Belgian border, hours after authorities had already identified Saleh Abdeslam as the renter of a Volkswagen Polo that was abandoned at the scene of the attack.
Abdeslam is now the focus of an international manhunt. One of his brothers detonated a suicide vest in central Paris and another was ultimately detained in Belgium.
He was one of three people in a car stopped by police Saturday morning, hours after the attacks that left at least 129 dead, the officials said.
Three French police officials and a top French security official confirmed all that officers stopped Abdeslam and checked his ID and then let him go.
The officials spoke only on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly disclose details of the investigation.

IRAQ WARNED OF IMMINENT ISIS ATTACK ONE DAY BEFORE PARIS MASSACRE

BAGHDAD (AP) — Senior Iraqi intelligence officials warned members of the U.S.-led coalition fighting the Islamic State group of imminent assaults by the militant organization just one day before last week’s deadly attacks in Paris killed 129 people, The Associated Press has learned.
Iraqi intelligence sent a dispatch saying the group’s leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, had ordered an attack on coalition countries fighting against them in Iraq and Syria, as well as on Iran and Russia, through bombings or other attacks in the days ahead.
The dispatch said the Iraqis had no specific details on when or where the attack would take place, and a senior French security official told the AP that French intelligence gets this kind of communication “all the time” and “every day.”
Without commenting specifically on the Iraqi warning, a senior U.S. intelligence official said he was not aware of any threat information sent to Western governments that was specific enough to have thwarted the Paris attacks. Officials from the U.S., French and other Western governments have expressed worries for months about Islamic State-inspired attacks by militants who fought in Syria, the official noted. In recent weeks, the sense of danger had spiked.
Six senior Iraqi officials confirmed the information in the dispatch, a copy of which was obtained by the AP, and four of these intelligence officials said they also warned France specifically of a potential attack. Two officials told the AP that France was warned beforehand of details that French authorities have yet to make public.
“We have recovered information from our direct sources in the Islamic State terrorist organization about the orders issued by terrorist ‘Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’ directing all members of the organization to implement an international attack that includes all coalition countries, in addition to Iran and the Russian Federation, through bombings or assassinations or hostage taking in the coming days. We do not have information on the date and place for implementing these terrorist operations at this time,” the Iraqi dispatch read in part.
Among the other warnings cited by Iraqi officials: that the Paris attacks appear to have been planned in Raqqa, Syria – the Islamic State’s de-facto capital – where the attackers were trained specifically for this operation and with the intention of sending them to France.
The officials also said a sleeper cell in France then met with the attackers after their training and helped them to execute the plan.
There were 24 people involved in the operation, they said: 19 attackers and five others in charge of logistics and planning.
The officials all spoke anonymously because they are not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.
The Islamic State group claimed responsibility on Saturday for the gun and bomb attacks on a stadium, a concert hall and Paris cafes that also wounded 350 people, 99 of them seriously. Seven of the attackers blew themselves up. Police have been searching intensively for accomplices.
Iraq’s Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari, also told journalists in Vienna on Sunday that Iraqi intelligence agencies had obtained information that some countries would be targeted, including France, the United States and Iran, and had shared the intelligence with those countries.
Officials in the French presidential palace would not comment, and U.S. officials didn’t immediately comment when contacted by The AP.
