Teflon Don: Trump at 32 Percent in New Post-Debate Poll

He is truly “Teflon Don.”

Republican frontrunner billionaire Donald Trump has jumped seven points—a remarkable hike in the polls—after the GOP debate in Cleveland, Ohio, last week and a subsequent spat with Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly.

The Morning Consult poll of 746 self-identified Republicans and GOP-leaning independents has Trump with a commanding lead over the entire rest of the field at 32 percent. That means he leads the next three candidates—former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Dr. Ben Carson and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker or Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 80% —combined. Bush, who came in second, got only 11 percent. Carson came in third with 9 percent. Walker and Rubio tied with 6 percent each.

Trump’s 32 percent means he leads Bush, Carson and Walker—or Bush, Carson and Rubio, depending on which candidate tied for fourth place one considers actually in fourth—combined. His 32 percent is tied with Bush, Carson, Rubio and Walker combined.

Trump’s 32 percent is also up seven points over last week’s Morning Consult poll, which had him at 25 percent. The poll was conducted Aug. 7 through Aug. 9—Friday through Sunday—which means most of the polling was done not just after Trump’s debate performance in which he battled Fox News anchors seemingly determined to take him out but also after Friday evening comments about Kelly.

“You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever,” Trump said of Kelly during a Friday interview with CNN’s Don Lemon. Many of Trump’s competitors in the 2016 field—and Red State’s Erick Erickson, a Fox News Contributor who disinvited Trump from his weekend conference with various candidates and activists over it—took that to mean Trump was insinuating that Kelly was menstruating, but Trump later noted that he was talking about her nose.

“Trump’s support shows no evidence of slipping after he told a CNN anchor on Friday night that Kelly, one of three moderators overseeing the Fox News debate, had ‘blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever,’” Morning Consult’s Reid Wilson wrote about the poll.

What’s more, Trump’s favorability ratings in this new poll skyrocketed.

“The share of Republican primary voters who say they view Trump favorably increased since the last tracking poll, to 62 percent from 57 percent,” Wilson wrote. “But the number of registered voters who say they see Trump unfavorably remains high — 52 percent of all voters say they see him in a negative light. That makes Trump both the most popular candidate within the Republican field and the least popular candidate Republicans could nominate for next year’s general election.”

TSUNAMI OF BREITBART NEWS RADIO CALLERS ‘OUTRAGED, DISGUSTED’ OVER FOX GOP PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE

9 Aug 2015 by ROBERT WILDE

Breitbart News continues to draw thousands of new website readers each month. In July close to two million comments piled up in reaction to the hundred plus stories posted each day from the scores of writers imparting political, national security, international, entertainment, and sports news.

So too the Breitbart News Saturday and Breitbart News Sunday radio shows airing on Sirius XM Patriot Radio, channel 125, are enjoying huge audiences sparked by hundreds of callers waiting to weigh in on the programs edgy political interviews with the likes of Donald Trump, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)96%, Carly Fiorina, Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT)100% and many, many more.

Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon and Editor-in-Chief Alexander Marlow who host the shows often express that there jobs are made easy by the incredibly intelligent and sophisticated callers that chime in with their insights and opinions.

None of the hottest political topics discussed on the shows spurred caller volume, excitement, and outrage more than Thursday night’s GOP presidential debate hosted by Fox News. Below are comments from several of our callers weighing in on Sunday’s program:

Mark in Iowa: “I think Senator Cruz did real well considering the questions he was asked… I mean that was just ridiculous, Have you heard from God lately? Seemed like they were trying to ridicule him for standing up for the conservative platform and values.”

Steve in Mississippi: “There’s been a lot of focus on Megyn Kelly but Chris Wallace was in on this too… And don’t tell me Bret Baier didn’t know who was going to raise his hand after the first question about third party and supporting one of the Republican’s on stage… I think they were trying to get rid of Trump from the get go… I was a supporter of Megyn Kelly, especially when she supported the Muhammad art show in Texas and Bill O’Reilly trashed it. That is up until now where she went after Trump with this BS….I think it was Megyn Kelly who turned the comment about the girl on her knees into a sexual thing.”

Danny in Texas: “That debate the other night, they didn’t focus on the candidates. They focused on the moderators… If Mitt Romney in 2012 turned around to Candy Crowley and said, ‘Hey you tell me why do you happen to have that particular transcript on your desk? Tell me just how that happened.’ She wouldn’t have been able to tell him. And he would have won that debate and maybe gotten some of those four million voters who stayed home. And we wouldn’t have had the last four years of Obama… I am completely disgusted with Fox News. If they were trying to get the establishment on their side they won that battle. But they lost many conservatives.”

Jeff from Alabama: “Trump will face tougher questions if he wins from Hillary Clinton… he is not normal.” When asked by Bannon if he would rather see Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)80%, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT)16% , or Donald Trump negotiate trade deals with China who would he want. “I would rather have Bill Clinton, because Bill Clinton can talk a bone away from a dog.”

Tex in Louisiana: “Fox tried to make Donald Trump look bad and Marco Rubio look good… They didn’t ask Marco Rubio about the ‘gang of eight’ and his immigration policy and that he got into bed with Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin… and they are trying to help him get over the hump… I don’t think Ted Cruz wants to do any mudslinging and that is a mistake. He needs to go in their and start throwing some real hard punches and make himself stand out.”

Nancy in Arizona: “I think they tried to set Dr. Carson aside. I shut the thing off half way through when I saw they were just steering the debate. We did not see enough of Ben Carson and heard the same rhetoric from others. Carson has many things to contribute.”

Doug in Oregon: “They hit Donald Trump hard with a question about his bankruptcies and then they go right to Rubio and ask him a softball general economics question. Anyone could have hit that out of the park. It made Rubio look really good. They favor him because he is in favor of open borders and can bring in the Hispanic vote.”

Tony in Georgia: “When they asked that first question in the second debate—besides getting sick—I asked myself ‘What the you know what’ are these guys doing? I thought that they would ask similar questions that they asked at the first debate… Right now I am just disgusted with Fox… Ted Cruz did better than most of them. He answered the questions better. You could take someone totally wacko, to coin a phrase from a certain senator, that they were going after Trump. ”

Michael: “All of this is about the border. I believe that these career politicians are making money hand over fist. But I think if we can shut that border down, a lot of these problems will fix themselves. You got drugs, human trafficking, you got terrorists, illegal aliens coming across that border. Its got to be fixed. Donald Trump is the only person who will build a great big fence across that border. I honestly believe he will build that wall. That I believe. That is all I want.”

Phil in Texas: “As far as that debate I didn’t know if I was watching Entertainment Tonight or TMZ… I thought it was the Megyn Kelly show. I’m disgusted with it… I think they gave Rubio softball questions. He handled himself well. He’s very well spoken. He’s a good politician. Jeb was putting me to sleep. Definitely disgusted with the way the debate was handled.”

Mary Anne in Ohio: “I’m a sixty-two year old woman and when I heard that debate, I wanted to take that Snarky B-I-T-C-H and B**ch-slap her. If I could have pulled her out of the TV, I would have done so.”

John: “Donald has a history of being a Liberal and supporting partial birth abortion. Marco Rubio said his (Gang of Eight) positions on immigration was a mistake. I think he is one of the more conservative candidates on the stage. Ronald Reagan was in favor of immigration.” (Bannon pointed out that Reagan admitted that it was the biggest mistake he ever made.) “My biggest concern is winning this election and I don’t think anyone can win other than Marco Rubio. All Trump talks about is the border fence, but he doesn’t say how he’s going to get it up.”

Mark in Texas: “Rubio is basically Bush-Junior. Rubio got softball questions. The only one who got hardball questions was Trump and Cruz. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)93% was treated like garbage too.”

Anthony in Alabama: “I think Karl Rove and the Koch Brothers wanted Trump knee-capped… These corporate donors when they give politicians money it’s not because they are a charitable organization, it’s because they want something in return.”

Jake in Pennsylvania: I’m a conservative and I’m a Ted Cruz guy. I know a lot of conservatives and have a lot of conservative friends, yet none of them like Jeb Bush. How is he running second in the polls. I just don’t get it. No one I know likes him. I was in the United States Military. I know a lot of Military guys. No one likes Jeb Bush. His performance on Thursday night was awful. I liked his brother, but I just don’t want anymore Bushes. I think we need a Cruz or Trump. Even a Carson.”

William: “I get most of my news from Patriot Radio. I don’t think Dr. Carson is thinking the immigration thing through. (Carson stated in his interview on Sunday night with Breitbart’s Bannon that he is willing to let the illegal alien farm and the hotel workers stay in the country with guest worker visas after the border fence is secured.) The issue is the tens of millions of people that are running across the border and taking jobs indiscriminately without any concern of a work visa or any documentation. They are just doing it. And Carson is wrong that we can’t just send them back from where they come from. If you have a clogged pipe the best way to clear it out is not to just shut the spigot off, but to back flow it. The way we correct the problem is to back flow the problem. The problem that came here we need to send it back to where it came from… Megyn Kelly was way out of line at the debate. She didn’t ask Trump anything political. She tried to drag him into a domestic argument. Something that he was not even connected to. The war on women isn’t a real war. It is a smokescreen for people who want free contraception and abortion on demand. The real war is the war on children. They shifted the guilt. Instead of feeling guilty for the murder of the children. They are trying to become victims. They think that if they can’t have these privileges than we are at war with them. It is a war for policy and entitlements. The casualty of the war is the children.”

Robert: “The reason why Trump looks appealing to everybody is because we are so sick and tired of taking a drumming. He’s got money so he can’t be bought off. He talks from the cuff and he’s not scripted. How many times are we going to vote someone in and they are not going to do anything. We just want some one who is going to do what they say. Say what they mean. If they make mistakes, so be it. But we want our nation to be strong again. All the others are professional politicians. They want to be in there as long as they can and come out millionaires. Politicians are suppose to be working for us. How do you come out a millionaire. At least Trump stands up for what he believes in.

Breitbart News Satruday and Breitbart News Sunday broadcast live on Saturday mornings at 10 am ET and Sunday night at 7 pm ET on Sirius XM Patriot radio, channel 125.

Who lost the GOP presidential debate?

9 Aug 2015 Joseph Farah names biggest deadbeat in historic prime-time event

I don’t think there’s any question who won the first Republican presidential debates.

Political correctness.

The candidates who impressed and energized voters were Donald Trump, Dr. Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, Ted Cruz and Mike Huckabee – and, what they had in common, was their unbridled attacks on the irrational, illogical plague of mental illness that threatens to destroy America’s free society.

We all know Trump stole the big show. His personality is bigger than life. He’s brutally blunt and consistently drives home the point that the language of political correctness is designed to limit debate, limit solutions to problems that are ravaging the country and limit rational thinking about ways to save America from its downward cultural, spiritual, economic and political spiral.

But Trump was not alone. Others who broke through to connect with voters were those who weren’t afraid to venture off the politically correct reservation.

So who lost the debate?

While Fox News is toasting itself for the record-shattering ratings for the debates, the “fair and balanced network” might have to rethink its marketing slogan.

Megyn Kelly was over the top in suggesting Donald Trump is anti-woman – maybe even part of the Democrats’ phony “war on women” concocted to eliminate from acceptable political discussion the sanctity of life and the sanctity of marriage.

The popular anchorwoman was clearly out to get Trump – nail him for unacceptable name-calling – and, in the process, become part of the debate herself, showing anger, open hostility and emotion in her “gotcha” assertion that he wouldn’t be able to stand up to Hillary Clinton in a presidential campaign.

For Chris Wallace, too, asking tough questions wasn’t enough. He openly mocked candidates for not answering his question. Whatever happened to “we report, you decide”?

While Bret Baier remained, as always, a consummate professional newsman, it’s quite possible the performances of Kelly and Wallace in front of Fox News’ biggest audience ever could foment discontent with the base for a network built on its reputation as an “alternative” to the misnamed “mainstream media.”

When Fox News gets rave reviews from the fringe MSNBC for its aggressive pursuit of the leading Republican presidential contender and kid-glove treatment of GOP establishment figures, you might think the big audience could prove to be a mixed blessing for the future of Fox.

Remember, also, that there are big changes coming for Fox News and the formula that made it the most successful cable news channel, showering it, along the way, with higher profits than ABC News, CBS News, NBC News and CNN combined.

The tenure of the two architects of this success are nearing the end of their careers at the helm. Rupert Murdoch is preparing for retirement and delegating authority to his children, who don’t share his eclectic views, and Roger Ailes, the genius programmer, is operating on borrowed time as Murdoch’s kids have openly signaled their own distaste for the Fox News formula that actually permits a fairly wide spectrum of ideas and opinions to be expressed on air.

Many Fox News viewers have actually come to believe the criticism of Fox from its worst antagonists – that it is a purveyor of right-wing thought. It never has been. But the attacks on Fox News have helped propel its legendary ratings and revenue success. Now, however, following this first series of 2016 Republican presidential debates, Fox viewers are expressing the kind of outrage normally reserved for CNN, ABC, CBS and NBC.

While Trump emerged unscathed from the bare-knuckled, undisguised, open attacks by two Fox News stars – and possibly more popular than ever – Fox News’ position could be diminished as a result. It might even be time for some damage control.

Greta Van Susteren: ‘Erickson Has Said the Worst Things About Women’

10 Aug 2015 by Dr. Susan Berry

Fox News Channel’s On the Record host Greta Van Susteren is giving the impression she thinks RedState’s Editor-in-Chief Erick Erickson was hypocritical in his decision to disinvite Donald Trump from the RedState Gathering on Friday.

Van Susteren tweeted:

you have to love the irony of erick erickson disinviting Trump when Erickson has said the worst things about women – never dull, huh?

— Greta Van Susteren (@greta) August 9, 2015

As Breitbart News reported, Trump was scheduled to address the RedState Gathering in Atlanta on Sunday, but Erickson rescinded the GOP candidate’s invitation. In a tweet on Friday, Erickson said Trump’s angry comments about FNC anchor and debate moderator Megyn Kelly were “a bridge too far.”

Trump did not appreciate Kelly’s questions to him during the debate Thursday and said so while a guest on CNN Tonight on Friday, when he asserted Kelly had “blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever,” a comment some interpreted as sexist.

In a follow-up post, Erickson added:

[W]hile Mr. Trump resonates with a lot of people with his bluntness, including me to a degree, there are just real lines of decency a person running for President should not cross.

His comment was inappropriate. It is unfortunate to have to disinvite him. But I just don’t want someone on stage who gets a hostile question from a lady and his first inclination is to imply it was hormonal. It just was wrong.

Erickson, who has been a Fox News contributor, then invited Kelly to speak in Trump’s place.

In May of 2013, Business Insider reported that Kelly blasted both Erickson and Fox Business’ Lou Dobbs over controversial comments the two men made about women’s roles in their families as “breadwinners.”

According to the report:

While discussing a recent study that showed 40 percent of American households with children have female breadwinners on Wednesday, Erickson called it “anti-science” for men not to play a “dominant” role in a family.

It was something to which Kelly clearly objected when she brought the pair on Friday afternoon.

“I was offended by your piece,” Kelly told Erickson, adding that she was not an “emo liberal” that Erickson subsequently called out while addressing criticism of his comments.

“Just because you have people who agree with you doesn’t mean it’s not offensive.”

Additionally, in January of 2014, Van Susteren herself blasted Erickson, referring to him as a “jerk” for his criticism of Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis, characterizing her as “Abortion Barbie.”

“What is wrong with this guy?” Van Susteren fumed, and continued in her post on GretaWire:

This posting is not about Wendy Davis. It is not about her views. This is about a man who has pattern of being disrespectful to women:

We are a big nation with different viewpoints. We won’t always agree…but a strong debate is helpful when we disagree. Sometimes if you are smart in your debate, you persuade someone who otherwise had disagreed with you.

And then there are the creeps who take cheap shots because they are too ignorant and small to engage in an important discussion. The best they can do is make themselves look really bad. No one should pay any attention to them – they are not persuasive, they are noise, and in some instances boorish and obnoxious. I suspect this guy feels that he makes himself relevant or even important if he says or tweets like this. I just roll my eyes and wonder what is going on in his head!

Bill Clinton Called Jeb Bush Before The Debate To Say “Trump Thing Will be Taken Care of”

August 9, 2015 by Eric Odom

At this point it’s pretty much accepted reality among all spectrums of the political realm that Fox News had a pre- meditated plan to ambush Donald Trump. Both those who support him as well as those who don’t like him admit it. Anyone who tries to dispute it does so through eyes glazed over by the love of another candidate and inability to read between the lines.

What isn’t known, though, is who ordered the political hit. Dick Morris thinks Fox News is making an effort to be accepted by the mainstream media industry in a larger capacity. Some say the RNC used influential relationships to work in the attacks. Or was it just an order down from the top of the Fox News food change to do everything possible to knock Trump down a few notches and change the dynamic of the race?

There is no question Megyn Kelly had to get her “war on women” ambush question approved from higher up the chain. You don’t go out in front of tens of millions of viewers in a debate as big as this one with a loaded cannon like that and fire it without orders (or permission) from the brass.

Truth is, we just don’t know who ordered the hit. And quite frankly we may never know. But today the plot thickened when Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit pulled up a story from July 11th, a story published roughly a month before the debate.

Get a load of this. (Reminder, this story was published July 11, 2015)

Initially during Mr. Trump’s rise in the polls the Bush team was dismissive, declaring it a momentary blip. As days turned to weeks though, and Trump supporters appear to be multiplying at a pace that even has people associated with the Trump campaign surprised, the Bush 2016 operation is now openly declaring it wants help with the what is being called, “The Trump problem.”

The call for help has even been issued to Jeb Bush’s seeming Democratic rival – Team Clinton. Apparently Bush operatives believe that between the two political dynasties and their many supporters among the Mainstream Media and corporate business world, the Trump threat can be quickly terminated before it grows into a legitimate challenge to the seemingly pre-determined Bush vs Clinton 2016 showdown.

A D.C. Whispers source put it this way:

“It’s said that Hillary Clinton wants nothing to do with Donald Trump. To most they just call him a clown, but privately they’re afraid of him. The Clinton team doesn’t fear Jeb Bush because they know what they are up against and that lack of fear is mutual among the Bush operation as well. They both run in similar circles politically and financially, so it’s a choice of shades of the same color and that’s how they want to keep it.”

Apparently Jeb Bush’s focus on “The Donald” has become quite personal. Bush is said to be “deeply disappointed” that the media and corporate attacks on Mr. Trump have only made the outspoken billionaire’s appeal to voters that much stronger. It is a political dynamic for which Bush political operatives are increasingly confused and concerned over.

Those concerns were said to be given some salve in the form of assurances from Bill Clinton during a personal call he had with Jeb Bush two days earlier. While most of that conversation remains private, Jeb did share with others that the former president reminded the would-be presidential hopeful that, “a lot of this Trump thing will be taken care of during your debates, if not sooner.”

Mainstream media completely ignored this story. They didn’t try to fact check it, they didn’t dispute it, they didn’t mention it. No they completely blacked the entire story out. From my search not one of the big outlets said a word about the report.

Don’t you think Fox, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, etc should have at least made a phone call or two on this? I mean, if this is true it suggests the entire primary and general election is being set up and controlled by the same financial and political powers that bankroll Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton. If Bill Clinton truly did call Jeb Bush and assure him Trump would be knocked down before or during the debate, wouldn’t that be major national news?

Even if it weren’t true, it’s news to report that it isn’t, is it not? Yet the major outlets completely bypassed the entire story.

Is journalism not alive anymore? How is this not major breaking news in light of what Fox News and Megyn Kelly did the other day?

Inquiring minds want to know.

‘Mary Had PMS While She Was Pregnant With Jesus Christ’ Says Erick Erickson of RedSate.com, The Man Who Banned Donald Trump For Talking Bad About Megyn Kelly

August 9, 2015

Erick Erickson of RedState.com, the man who banned Donald Trump from his superficial conservative event, alleging that Trump said that Megyn Kelly must have had PMS during the debate, said that Mary had PMS when she was pregnant with Jesus Christ. He said this back in 2012, years prior to Trump’s statement on Kelly. His statement was found on twitter and retweeted by Dan Scavino, one Trump’s

campaigner:

Dan Scavino reposted the tweet, alongside Erickson’s statement on “goat f****ing”:

This blasphemer is an absolute wretch possessed by the spirit of hypocrisy. I can tell just by looking at his gluttonous face that he is is a sleaze bucket. While he condemns Trump for talking about blood “coming out of her wherever”, but this sick blasphemy he has no problem with. This is just another indication as to how morally and spiritually decayed the secular conservative movement is.

Trumping the GOP

August 9, 2015

The notion that Trump or ANY external source is destroying the GOP—is absolute nonsense. The GOP wounds are self-inflicted, and these guys are sounding more and more like Obama, blaming others for their own failures.

These are the same guys—led by McConnell and Boehner— that have broken nearly every campaign promise…in just the first 7 months alone! They passed Obama’s budget, they funded ObamaCare, funded Obama’s unconstitutional amnesty, approved the radical Loretta Lynch and so on….

To validate my point, I will ask one question: When was the GOP’s last conservative accomplishment…and what was it? Cue the Jeopardy music:

Come on guys, what is the damn point in winning elections if you’re just going to pass the opposition’s agenda? Especially when the opposition’s a bunch of flaming anti-American marxists!

The Democrats, on the other hand get things done—they’ve taken control of the courts, the media, our education system, implemented amnesty, gay marriage, open borders…and on and on.

Donald’s appeal is not only that he gets things done—or that he can answer a question without rehearsed talking points—but that he doesn’t apologize for speaking the truth..

I see this as an opportunity to take our party back. But in Reagan’s words—we gotta make them feel the heat.
