Delhi Development Authority popularly known as the DDA, is considered to be among one of the richest development authority in the country. According to the schedule of the development authority the authority has earlier announced that their new scheme will be launched in their year 2016 where the development authority is planning to offer almost 40,000 well advanced flats. But, the authority is on the way to launch a new housing scheme ahead of its next mega scheme 2016.

The intermediate scheme is yet to be announced but it is expected to be launched by the end of this year. The housing scheme has come to existence as many allottee of the DDA Housing scheme were not satisfied with the structure of the flats provided by the DDA. Many have complained that the authority has not provided what the authority has promised for. And that the price of the scheme is much higher as compare to the flats provided.

In the mega housing scheme of 2014, the authority has offered about 25,000 flats and of these 25,000 flats it is said that almost 8000 flats were surrendered in the last nine month. Most of the allottee who surrendered their flats said that the main reason why they surrender the flats is due to the small size of the flats by the development authority. Moreover, the authority has to face many complain and sarcasm as they could not complete the flats at Rohini at the schedule time and even after the completion of the mega housing scheme 2014. And the flats located at the Rohini were allotted after two – three month of the draws. And also it is said that most of the surrendered flats comes from the location of Rohini and most of the allottee have complain that the flats in this location were the worse in both size and standard as compared to other flats that were allotted in the scheme.

However, DDA mega housing 2014 is said to be the most successful in the history of DDA and even the one of the best housing scheme in the country and hold the record among the scheme for providing the highest number of flats in a single Government Scheme. And also the housing 2014 is the only housing scheme in the history of DDA where the draw is conducted within three month of the completion of all the formalities of registration of the same.

The decision is being taken by the DDA for this intermediate housing 2015 although it is not a part of their schedule so as to fill up the vacant surrendered flats by the allottee of the housing 2014. The location of most of the flats under this will be in Narela and Rohini. And the authority has not shared any other further information of the scheme but, said the scheme is yet to be confirmed and if confirmed will launch by the end of the year. A senior member of DDA, said “These flats are ready. We don’t want to waste any time in re-allotting them. We are thinking about re-looting the flats by introducing a new scheme by the end of this year. But a final decision is yet to be taken in this regard,”

Well it is the time we have to wait and see when the scheme will be confirmed and what will be the offer of the authority so as to attract the general public. Will the authority reduced the price of the flats or will the authority renovate the flats to increase its standard. Let’s wait see.
