Our featured chiptune artist for this week and our ninth show is the incredibly talented PROTODOME (Blake Troise).

Based in Portsmouth UK, PROTODOME is a jazz artist who is heavily influenced by the chiptune genre, and his styles range from funk and big-band, to bit-pop and acid jazz.

Along with being a musician, he is also a PhD student and a VLE designer, who along with creating sensational tunes, loves messing about with graphics, software and electronics in his spare time.

Check out the tune below from his CHIPFUNK EP, which he released back in 2014 and let us know what you think! (We think its pretty darn cool).

Be sure to listen in to Pixels Rising tonight by streaming it here on our site, or by listening in through digital radio and locally at 101.5FM, to hear more of his funky chiptune beats!

If you are interested in his work and want to look up more of PROTOMODE’s music, you can find it on BandCamp and SoundCloud, and follow him on Twitter and Facebook for more news about upcoming tracks!
