Australia’s premier thrash/grind miscreants, the mighty King Parrot can reveal that DEAD SET will be unleashed on May 15!
Recorded by the legendary Philip H. Anselmo (Pantera, Down) at his Nodferatu’s Lair studio in New Orleans, Dead Set showcases the signature King Parrot sound,laying waste to the senses with high octane grind, thrashing riffs, pummeling beats and punk rock mayhem.
More hotly anticipated than a half price happy hour, Dead Set is a relentless aural assault proving that somehow the band show no signs of wear and tear following a brutal touring schedule over the last 18 months.
While Australia waits patiently for their return, King Parrot have delivered a delicious gift in the form of Like A Rat, another stellar video from the lords of larrikin documenting the band’s time spent recording with Anselmo.

THE OCEAN: AUST TOUR APRIL – UPDATE
Germany’s premier post-metal act, THE OCEAN, is returning to Australia in April 2015.
They will be playing their highly acclaimed record Pelagial in full for the very first time in Australia.
Due to demand there are a limited number of new tickets available for the Evelyn Hotel show in Melbourne on Saturday, April 18.
The first show of the tour at The Basement in Canberra has been moved from Wednesday, April 8 to the following day, Thursday, April 9
Local Supports have now been confirmed for each show.

APOPHYS: Unleash New Single From Debut
A word derived from Apophis, an asteroid that, upon initial observations, indicated a probability that it would hit Earth on April 13th, 2029 causing a collision of immeasurable proportions, Dutch death metal legion, APOPHYS – who feature within their bestial ranks members of God Dethroned, Prostitute Disfigurement, Detonation and Toxocara among others — was spawned in 2012 and have since been surgically carving their path within the annals of the modern death metal scene.
Prime Incursion is their forthcoming debut full-length, slated to slay the masses via Metal Blade Records next month.
Mixed by vocalist Kevin Quilligan and mastered by Stefano Morabito at 16th Cellar Studio (Fleshgod Apocalypse, Hour Of Penance etc.), the record boasts nine vicious hymns of Sci-Fi-tinged death metal centered on themes ranging from transcendental travel, rapid evolutionary progression, and global epidemics, to artificial intelligence in all-out war with their maker.

ABIOTIC: Premiere New Song and Play Through Video
ABIOTIC are set to release their new album “Casuistry” on April 21st.
The band have released a play through video for “The Absence of Purity” which features a guest solo from Between the Buried And Me’s Paul Waggoner, which the band had to learn after Waggoner tracked it in the studio.

Swedish folk metal pioneers FALCONER have announced the re-issue of their legendary debut album as an “Ultimate Edition” on the 17th of April!
The “Ultimate Edition” will be available as a double CD Digibook. Disc 2 is a bonus CD that features seven previously unreleased versions and demos of tracks from the album. All tracks on both discs have been remastered by Andy LaRocque for the ideal listening experience. The album will also be released on vinyl for the first time ever!

ENTRAILS: Swedish Death Metal Overlords To Unleash New Studio Offering in May
Swedish death metal overlords, ENTRAILS, will unleash the putrid fruits of their newest studio offering this May.
Fittingly dubbed, Obliteration, the follow-up to 2013’s Raging Death full-length was tracked by guitarist Jimmy Lundqvist at his own “Bloodshed Studios” and mixed and mastered by legendary musician/soundsmith Dan Swanö (Edge Of Sanity, Bloodbath, Aeon, Hail Of Bullets etc.) at Unisound. Featuring nine mangled tracks of sonic malevolence, Obliteration carries on the torch of true, oldschool Swedish brutality.

SECRETS OF THE SKY: Atmospheric Doom Quintet To Release Second Album in May
SECRETS OF THE SKY, will release their long-awaited second full-length this May. Titled Pathway, the mammoth thirteen-track follow-up to 2013’s critically-heralded To Sail Black Waters full-length was engineered, mixed, mastered and co-produced by Juan Urteaga of Trident Studios with SECRETS OF THE SKY and finds the band at their most poignant.
Dark, brooding, pure, eclectic, Pathway features Garett Gazay fluctuating between monstrous growls and clean, soothing vocal cascades, all the while complimenting the twisted compositions of guitarists Andrew Green and Clayton Bartholomew. Bassist Ryan Healy and drummer Lance Lea round out the lineup, their rhythms and distinctive voices adding further depth to the collective’s meticulous, blackened soundscrapes.
Sonically, SECRETS OF THE SKY aimed for a massive, clean, and organic sounding production. Much time was invested in obtaining huge drum sounds and the focus was on single performance takes throughout the process. The result is an ambitious foray into conceptual storytelling, coupled with emotional music full of peaks and valleys. This is a metal record, to be sure, but more importantly, it sounds like an album of music. This is not a random sequencing of songs or a search for a “hit” single; the tracks all have their place in the story, and the cuts in between actually drive the narrative through sound effects and ambiance. SECRETS OF THE SKY’s Pathway is an experience to be had, as well as a record to merely be heard.
