When my kids were babies, I sewed blankets and bibs for them. On occasion, I even would make a fiddle blanket for baby showers as gifts.
Somehow, I lost the cord to my sewing machine. Any hope of making Sunday dresses for my little girl went out the window. Not that I would have been able to attempt such a pattern. My sewing machine skills are limited to a straight stitch. I have concluded that the cord ran away out of boredom.

Heather Lou is a reformed shopaholic and the blogger behind Closet Case Files. Vowing to only add to her closet things she made for a year, Heather Lou found a calling to sew and design patterns. She eventually quit her day job in 2014 to work full-time designing patterns and writing.

Caroline is the ‘she’ behind Sew She Can. Wife and mom to four kids, Caroline finds joy creating something beautiful from fabric.
On occasion, I’ve seen a pin on Pinterest and thought that I could actually sew it only to find it out that there were no instructions. Caroline solves them! Right now, you can vote for June’s project. To see other solved sewing mysteries, she created a Pinterest board.
I already mentioned that I’m a fan of totes and Caroline shows off eight bags that she has made this year. There are several I feel pretty confident I could make.

So Sew Easy is the collaborative effort of Mayra and Deby. I’m not certain how they came to write the blog, but there is no doubt that they share a love of fashion and sewing.
Until I started researching this week’s topic, I’d never heard of a rug mug. They are coasters made out of fabric and are pretty cool. So Sew Easy features a pattern monthly for download. Kicking summer off, June’s pick is an underwater scene with a seahorse. There are a number of free patterns to download and with Father’s Day around the corner I wonder if I could pull of this Star Wars apron?
