Cleveland Police have launched an appeal after a vehicle was driven at a police officer who was speaking to a member of the public.
Officers are now appealing for information after the vehicle was driven at the police officer and a member of the public he was speaking to.
The incident happened on Dent Street, Hartlepool at about 10.20am on Tuesday (16th March) when a dark Vauxhall Astra believed to be a 57 plate mounted the pavement and drove directly at them.
Luckily both managed to jump out of the way to avoid being struck by the vehicle. The car then left the scene at speed towards Hart Lane.
Clevland Police have said They would appeal for any witnesses or people with dashcam or CCTV which could assist their on-going inquiries to contact Hartlepool CID via the 101 number, quoting Ref 40806.
