Planet Comicon is happy to announce that our 2015 convention will be held March 13th through March 15th, 2015. The event, Kansas City’s largest comic book and pop culture convention, will feature star guests from the worlds of comics, cosplay, television, movies, and more.

For the third time, Planet Comicon will take place at the Kansas City Convention Center which includes the Bartle Hall exhibit space. The location — in downtown Kansas City — is adjacent to the popular Power and Light entertainment district.

The 2015 show will be bigger than ever before, with more than 300,000 square feet of exhibit space and more than 100,000 square feet devoted to panel programming events. In addition to using more of Bartle Hall, the show is expanding to the convention center’s Grand Ballroom for the first time.

“Our largest panel room will now seat 2,500 people, which is double the capacity of our biggest hall last year,” convention director Chris Jackson said. “This new massive room will feature live presentations by celebrities from franchises like Star Wars, Star Trek, and Doctor Who. It will also be the stage for our extremely popular costume contest.”

Planet Comicon will be a centerpiece of a huge weekend of entertainment for Kansas City. Like the most recent show, the dates of the 2015 event align with the Big 12 Basketball Tournament and Kansas City’s top anime convention, Naka-Kon. The basketball tournament is held at Sprint Center, just blocks from the convention site. Naka-Kon will be at the Overland Park Convention Center. “There will be no shortage of fun in Kansas City that weekend,” Planet Comicon assistant director Kirk Chritton said. “We encourage everyone to participate in as many events as they can.”
