The only known serial killers (2) in the State of Florida in the last 30 years were Aileen Wuornos who killed 7 men (no women) in 1990 in Marion County, Pasco County, Citrus County, Dixie County and Volusia County. The other serial killer was Daniel Rolling who murdered five students in Gainesville Florida in 1990 and admitted committing a November 4, 1989, triple homicide in Shreveport, Louisiana. Serial Killers Wuornos and Rolling have no link to the serial killer working the I-4 corridor in Florida in the last 30 years as indicated by the FBI report.
FBI Highway Serial Killings Map New Initiative on an Emerging Trend: FBI claims a serial killer is working I-4 corridor in Florida from Daytona Beach to Orlando to Tampa Fl with over 29 unsolved murders of females with bodies left near the interstate. Dayton Beach police are working a series of unsolved murders of 4 women linked to prostitution and acknowledge that they have a serial killer, but the Sheriff Department in Orange County and the Sheriff Department in Polk County and the Sheriff Department in Hillsborough County have no active serial killer cases that they are working, none could explain where the FBI got its information, so Who’s Zoomin’ Who? Don’t you think the FBI should clue in local law enforcement? See FBI link to map https://www.fbi.gov/news/stories/2009/april/highwayserial_040609
I have done extensive research into multiple unsolved murders, mostly young women involved with drugs and prostitution, of victims whose bodies have been found along the interstate highways of the USA. FBI Report Highway violence; In the past four decades, over 500 unsolved deaths and 41 attempted homicides are believed to be linked to serial killers who are using the nation’s highways as truckers to find and dispose of their victims. 33 bodies n Florida, 38 bodies in Texas and 37 bodies in California are the top 3 in the body count nation wide. I-4 Serial Killer and Dayton Beach Serial Killer Same Guy a Long Haul Trucker Over 30 Cases Near I-4 and I-95 Says FBI. I have just recently filmed a Documentary with A&E on the I-4 Serial Killer called “The Killing Season”, we shot our sequence inside the Acme Truck Stop in Orlando at the Red Rooster Diner 9565 S. Orange Blossom Trail Orlando Fl. Release of the A&E I-4 Serial Killer Documentary “The Killing Season” is scheduled for November 12th 2016 at 9:00 PM on the A&E Network, now sure would be a good time to release the “I-4 Serial Killer Documentary” to tie in with the arrest of Cleveland Truck Driver Robert Rembert Jr. who Prosecutor Timothy McGinty claims is a over-the-road serial killer.
The FBI has joined a local investigation into an Ohio truck driver facing multiple murder charges to see if there are any unsolved killings he may have had a part in, authorities said. Robert Rembert Jr. pleaded not guilty and was ordered held on $5 million bond. Truck driver is a serial killer, Cleveland OH. “Robert G. Rembert Jr., DOB 3/15/1970, age 46, is a serial killer”. So far, we know he’s purposefully executed five people, some shot in the head,” Prosecutor Timothy McGinty said. “An investigation of his activities as an over-the-road truck driver is currently underway.” Indicted by a grand jury Tuesday October 14th, 2015 is Robert G. Rembert Jr. age 45. Robert (Bobby) Rembert was arrested after taking a shower at a truck stop near Seville, Ohio in Medina County on Sept. 21, 2015. The Daytona Beach murders occurred Saturday through Tuesday.
I-4 in Florida runs from the west coast in Tampa directly across the state to Daytona on the east coast it is 132 miles long and very heavily traveled by cars and big rig truckers, see map above. I-4 connects to I-75 on the west coast and I-95 on the east coast also very heavily traveled by cars and big rig truckers going north and south. The body of the first known victim of the Daytona Beach killer Laquetta Gunther, 45, was discovered in an alley off of Beach Street on December 26th, 2005. She had been shot in the head with a .40 caliber handgun. She was found lying in a fetal position. Due to the damage from the gunshot, (hollow point bullet) Gunther had to be identified by her tattoos. She had been killed at least two days before her body was found. A taxi driver told Stacey Dittmer, the victim’s closest friend, that he saw an older-looking man with a cigar in his mouth walking out of the alley.
Since then, three more women with known criminal histories have been found slain execution-style, shot in the head, in this Central Florida beachside city best known for its love of motorcycles, auto racing and sunbathing. When the fourth victim was discovered, shot in the head with a .40 caliber handgun, Daytona Beach police knew they were looking for a serial killer. Police think the Daytona Beach killer — who profilers peg as an everyday guy with relationship troubles — has slain four women in the past two years, luring them into his car or truck and leaving their naked bodies in secluded areas. Daytona Police Chief Mike Chitwood would not discuss details of Gage’s slaying. The other three women, LaQuetta Gunther, Iwana Patton and Julie Ann Green, were all shot in the head. All three had histories of prostitution and their naked bodies were found in relatively secluded areas of the city. With each murder, experts and investigators say, the killer could be emboldened.
The Daytona Beach victims all appear to have been shot in the head with a .40 caliber handgun most likely loaded with hollow point bullets. It appears from various police reports that the Daytona Beach serial killer has used the same gun in a least 4 murders, a .40-caliber Smith & Wesson Sigma Series VE. The Daytona Beach serial killer uses the same M.O., he gains control of the women (mostly prostitutes) and has them remove their clothes and has them kneel down, as several murder victims bodies were found in the fetal position, he then shoots them in the head, preferably in the back of the head. Victim Laquetta Gunther was shot in the back of the head, he face was apparently blown off by the force of the gunshot as the cops had to ID her from body tattoos. This indicates that the Daytona Beach serial killer is using hollow point bullets which go in with a small hole and come out the other side with maximum damage as they spread and shred.
The use of hollow point bullets in the high powered .40-caliber Smith & Wesson Sigma Series VE leaves devastating results when a victim is shot in the head. The Daytona Beach serial killer appears to also link to the I-4 murders, as per the FBI Highway Serial Killings initiative, which must have evidence of the same kind of weapon and bullets being used across I-4. The Daytona Beach murders look like some sort of religious ritualistic cleansing, nude body, kneeling, use of high powered .40-caliber handgun with hollow point bullets to literally blow the face or head off of the victim/sinner exhibits extreme measures taken to kill defenseless women. There are other cases of women (possible prostitutes) found naked and shot in the head in the Orlando and Tampa area and up and down I-95, cops will not give out any more info.
According to the FBI, the four Daytona Beach killings are among 28 in Florida that are unsolved and connected to serial killings that the bureau suspects were committed by long-haul truckers. Those include 19 deaths along the Interstate 4 corridor between Tampa and Daytona Beach, although all but one local law-enforcement agency denies any serial-killer cases on its books. The FBI report documents dozens of serial killings of people whose bodies were dumped near popular trucking routes. The report is accompanied by a map that shows the FBI plotting more than 500 serial killings — mostly prostitutes and female drug users — across the United States. Daytona Beach police have their killer’s DNA from two of the first three victims, but they won’t say which. And they won’t say whether any DNA was recovered from the fourth. Police have entered the DNA profile into a national database, hoping it will pop up if the killer gets arrested someplace else, obviously the killer is not in the National DNA Index System or NDIS is considered one part of CODIS, the national level, containing the DNA profiles contributed by federal, state, and local participating forensic laboratories.
A few cases are in metro Orlando, according to the FBI map, seen above, but neither the bureau nor local law-enforcement agencies will acknowledge any cases involving serial killers. The FBI also declined to provide a more-detailed map of the Florida deaths. Sheriff’s offices in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Volusia and Polk — ones that service the I-4 area in the region — said they have no serial-killer cases. Police agencies in Orlando and Kissimmee said they don’t either. None could explain where the FBI got its information. Only Daytona Beach police acknowledge they are working a serial-killer case. “We have several people, including volunteers, looking at evidence and following up on leads,” Capt. Kerry Orpinuk of the Daytona Beach Police Department said. “But there are no leads that point in any one direction.”
The other Daytona Beach victims are:
A construction worker in January 2006 discovered the body of Julie Ann Green, 34, on an access road off LPGA Boulevard, a remote area near Interstate 95.
The body of Iwana Patton, 35, was found in February 2006 in a wooded area just east of I-95. The body of the fourth victim, Stacey Gage, was found in January 2008 near an abandoned church less than a mile from I-4.
Other recent murders in Central Florida appear to fit a profile laid out by the FBI bureau’s probe:
The dismembered body of Regan Kendall, 48, was found near Osceola Parkway and Boggy Creek Road in Osceola County in July.
And deputies in July found the naked body of Kelly Lanthorne, 37, behind the Courtyard Villas apartments, near South Orange Blossom Trail in Orange County.
Investigators in Orange and Osceola have not said how Kelly Lanthorne was slain and would not confirm whether they were victims of a serial killer. Daytona Beach police haven’t released many details or a profile of their killer. Osceola County Sheriff’s detectives have confirmed the identity of the body found near Boggy Creek Road as Regan Kendall (DOB 2/12/59) of Kissimmee. Kendall was last seen on June 17 when she was released from the Osceola County jail. Kendall had a history of drug and prostitution charges. On July 5th, 2007 at approximately 5:55 p.m., Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a suspicious incident near Boggy Creek Road and Osceola Parkway. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a father and son who indicated they were driving on a dirt road adjacent to Boggy Creek Road to gain access to a pond to go fishing. They saw something on the road and upon a further look realized it might be human remains partially in garbage bags lying on the road. The witnesses notified law enforcement who confirmed the remains were human.
Capt. Kerry Orpinuk of the Daytona Beach Police Department said detectives are using the FBI’s report as a tool in their investigation. “We are looking at everything, including what the FBI presented on the highway serial killings,” Orpinuk said. “We are not currently working with them, but we are also not ruling anything out.” Investigators have few leads because the slain women were mostly prostitutes or drug abusers living on the fringe of society. Their bodies were dumped in remote or obscure locations, mostly just East of I-95.
1). The body of Stacey Gage was found in the fetal position Jan. 2, 2008 in a wooded area near Hancock Boulevard Daytona Beach Fl just East of the access ramps to I-95 and I-4 intersections, police think Stacey Gage was killed Dec. 11, 2007 just after she had been at the Publix supermarket on Hancock Blvd, she was seen on video at the Publix ATM.
2). The body of Iwana Patton, 35, was found in the fetsl position on February 2006 in a wooded area just East of the I-95 access ramp off of N. Williamson Boulevard (Holly Hill) Daytona Beach Fl, just up the road from where Stacey Gage’s body was found. The Publix Supermarket in Ormond Beach (just North of Holly Hill) runs along N. Williamson Boulevard.
3). The body of Julie Ann Green, 34, was found in the fetal position on an access road off LPGA Boulevard (Holly Hill) Daytona Beach Fl, a remote area East of Interstate 95, just off the access ramp, up the road from where Stacey Gage’s body was found. The body of Julie Green found on LPGA Boulevard is within walking distance, less than 1/2 mile, to where the body of Iwana Patton was found on N. Williamson Boulevard (Holly Hill) Dayton Beach Fl. The Publix Supermarket in Ormond Beach (just North of Holly Hill) runs along N. Williamson Boulevard.
4). The mostly naked body of 45-year-old Laquetta Gunther was found in the fetal position stuffed between two buildings, in a narrow alley just off 650 North Beach Street Daytona Beach Fl, she had been arrested for prostitution, see all locations on map above.
5). Faith Jenkins murdered, she was arrested in March for prostitution, body found naked from waist down in fetal position. A caretaker for a vacant house discovered the body of 35-year-old Faith Jenkins behind 327 Kingston Avenue along U.S. 1 and south of Mason Avenue and just two blocks from 650 North Beach Street where the body of Laquetta Gunther was found. Daytona Beach police Chief Mike Chitwood said his investigators are trying to find out if her death could be the work of a serial killer.
“Victims are often picked up at truck stops or service stations, sexually assaulted and murdered. The victims’ bodies are left in rural areas along a highway, often in separate jurisdictions or even different states from where they were initially encountered by the offender,” FBI Special Agent Ann Todd said. Federal agents launched the map after linking a trucker to the slayings of seven prostitutes whose bodies had been dumped along Interstate 40 in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi. At least 10 serial killers, all of them long-haul truckers accused of murdering more than 30 women, have been behind bars since 2004.
Darlene Young 05-09-2011, body found near I-95 in Delray Beach, Fla, she had been shot in the head.
Melissa Easterling 06-27-2011, body found Riverview Fl near I-75, she had been shot in the head.
Katharine Zafra 10-02-2011. Sunday, Oct. 2, 4:42 p.m. •Katharine Zafra’s body was found in the yard of a vacant home in the 5700 block of Makoma Drive near Orange Blossom Trail Orlando. Detectives are searching for 36-year-old Zafra’s killer.
Melissa McCarthy Comiskey 11-30-2011, body found along I-95 in Kingsland Ga she was kidnapped in Broward County Fl, she was shot in the head. The FBI database includes 15 cases in a 30-mile radius of the I-4 corridor, as well as others near Interstate 95. FBI Special Agent Ann Todd would not discuss the specifics of those cases. Todd said the suspects’ mobility, the high-risk lifestyle of the victims, a lack of witnesses and forensic evidence make these cases almost impossible to solve.
