Starting in January 2017, Pets for Patriots will be using a new donation platform. Our goals are to make giving easier and more mobile-friendly, while maintaining the same industry-leading standards for online security.
Easier to give on the go
We know that people are increasingly performing all kinds of transactions from mobile devices, such as tablets and smart phones.
While our current donation pages are mobile-compliant, our new donation platform is built with mobile giving in mind. It is built upon the most up-to-date website technology to provide a seamless experience from desktop to laptop, smart phone to tablet.
Easier to give to general fund or specific programs
Our new donation page will allow supporters to contribute to our general fund or to our ‘hero’ campaign, known as our veterinary fund – all on the same page. As we mature and have the ability to track and manage multiple funds, they can be easily added to this single donation page. Currently, donors who wish to contribute to our hero fund must do so on a completely separate donation page.
In addition, our new donation platform gives us the flexibility to add donation pages for limited-time campaigns where we need to track donations separately from routine giving.
Easier to stay connected before and after donating
To ensure the highest level of transactional security our current and future donation pages are hosted by third-party providers that adhere to strict norms for financial giving. This will not change.
Moving forward, our new page replicates the design of our Pets for Patriots website to offer a more seamless overall online experience. It will look and feel exactly like our website, even as it is hosted on secure, third party servers that adhere to strict PCI compliance for online transactions.
Easier for recurring donors to maintain their giving
In the past, changes in our donation platform meant that monthly donors had to re-enter all of their credit card and giving details.
Our new payment processor uses a secure migration tool to import donor data from our current provider over to the new platform. Our expectation is that monthly donors will have a smooth transition. The only change will be the billing name on credit card statements, which will change from Network for Good to Pets for Patriots.
Easier integration of popular features
While our new donation platform offers a lot of improvements, Pets for Patriots is keeping popular features that our supporters have told us are important. Donors will still have the ability to contribute by credit card or Paypal, and make tribute donations with email and/or postal acknowledgements.
One popular feature which is not yet available on our new donation page is the ability for donors to cover our credit card processing fees, if they selected that option. However, because our new donation platform offers even lower transaction fees, we do not expect a material difference in donation income over the course of the year.
