Berlin, 23 January 2017. After seeing a record number of attendees last year, the 2017 PDF Days will again be held in Berlin. The PDF Association invites interested parties to the Hotel Steglitz International for the two-day event on 15 and 16 May where they will be able to assemble their own personal bundle of knowledge regarding PDF as a global standard. Highlights will include the introduction of a new PDF initiative organised by the association which will make the PDF format more usable on devices of all sizes.
The focus of the PDF Days is on showing how PDF technology can help solve business-related problems. The agenda includes German- and English-language presentations, user reports and workshops. One subject in the limelight will be the new ISO 32000-2 standard (PDF 2.0) and the improvements it brings in terms of encryption, digital signatures and much more. Visitors will also receive up-to-date information about the PDF Association’s new initiative for optimising use of the PDF format on mobile devices – something that will decisively impact the future of PDF.
The presentations will also introduce other new PDF-related subjects, including PDF/Raster, a consciously simplified subset of PDF which enables the use of the PDF format within high-volume scanning solutions. Other standards discussed at the event will include PDF/A for long-term document archiving, ZUGFeRD for PDF/A-based invoices, and PDF/UA for universally accessible documents.
17 May will be a workshop day for users, featuring specialist events from Association members. Participants can again expect a comprehensive range of information on this day. The PDF Association will soon be releasing more details about the PDF Days Europe at www.pdfa.org.
