This is a great freestanding tin ricer. It was also used to make applesauce, or as a sifter/strainer. It has wonderful age to the tin, a very dark grey. It was made in the late 1800"s and measures 7-1/2"Dia x 8-1/2" T. The three legs are attached to a rim at the bottom and top, so it could be freestanding and very stable.
