Syn. D. pierardii, D. cucullatum and several others. I bought this as pierardii at the first orchid show I ever attended (Sacramento). It got huge then I lost most of it to a rotted mount. Live and learn.
This is one of the dry winter rest species and is deciduous. This one still had 4 or 5 yellowed leaves remaining that I cut off before photographing it. This is a beautiful species but the flowers are short-lived. I'll update this post with how long they last. I will continue to...
