While there are thousands of churches throughout the United States, each teaching the word of God and spreading the good news to the local community, individual churches often have slightly different doctrines. The doctrine may differ due to its location, or simply because of the interpretation of the bible. It is why I’ve found it so important to visit different churches and to take in what each location has to offer whenever moving to a new city. I like to find a church that best connects with me and where I feel I’m truly part of the church’s doctrine. With all the slight variations and the communities from which these churches are located, there is a beautiful and unique background associated with each. This is why every church needs to have personal, unique church seals, in order to represent the church within the local community.
What Sets the Church Apart?
I have always found every church has a way of setting itself apart. Some churches focus specifically towards a younger demographic. Perhaps there is a local university it preaches to, or maybe it specializes in youth camps throughout the year. Other churches may focus most of their worship service on music while other churches do whatever they can to help the local community with dozens of outreach programs. While most churches are not able to do everything, they do specialize in one area and focus much of their resources on it. This is what sets the church apart from other churches in the community. This should be represented in the church seals. The perfect church seal not only shows important icons to the Christian faith, but it also has imagery representing what the church does best and what sets it apart.
This is one thing I like to tell people when creating the perfect church seals. Imagery is universal. No matter what walk of life someone is from, or what language they speak, imagery is a universal language. Pictures are able to say a thousand words in a thousand different tongues. For a church in a multi-lingual community or that spends time on mission trips, imagery in the church seal can say more than any pamphlet or written word. The religious symbols found in the seal illustrate the importance of the Christian faith, yet the other imagery found within the seal can show the church loves music, or they plant gardens or help build other churches. The perfectly designed church seals inform anyone, illiterate or literate, English speaking or Japanese speaking, what the church does and what is important to it.
All of this put together helps me as I work to create the perfect church seals. This is more than just an illustrated image for the church. It is designed to help break down walls and bring people together.
Every church offers something slightly different to its community. Every church also has a different background and may focus on different methods of outreach (some may focus on international mission trips while others help with the local community). Due to these differences, having specific, unique church seals is important. It is a rallying call for everyone not only in the congregation, but within the community as well. The seal can become a beacon of hope and a means to bring people together. It truly is amazing what a small seal can do for a community. This is why it is important to work with One Source Graphics in order to personalize and create that one seal to properly represent a church, its congregation and the local community.
