We want to ensure everyone that signs up gets the most value from our product.Support Engineers work directly with our users to help them implement and run their application based on Contentful.This includes to identify, outline and solve any technical issues that the user might be experiencing.As the support engineer you will:-Be responsible for growing and keeping our documentation and code examples up to date-Work very closely with our engineering team getting exposure to our entire infrastructure and codebase-Contribute to our open source projects (ex: https://github.com/contentful; https://github.com/contentful-labs)-Be the connection between our customers and the product team and help shape the future of our product-Optimize the support team’s tools and work proceduresYou’ll help Contentful Customers by:-Providing technical and consultative support-Educating on best practices-Solve technical issues on our platform-Making sure our product is easy to use-Improving the overall user experience-Explaining concepts and functionality of our platform-Point to documentation and other resources-Providing code examples-Help troubleshooting issuesREQUIREMENTS-You can work regularly full time covering the Pacific Timezone working hours as you live in a location or close enough to that Timezone-Experience in developing non-trivial projects in Ruby or JavaScript-You already worked with APIs and integrations of third party services-You have a good understanding of how web and mobile applications are built and work-You enjoy exchanging emails with customers and have excellent English communication skills-You can clearly explain concepts and produce example code that complements your explanation-You’re confident with common UNIX command line tools-You can read server logs and process them to aggregate/analyze data-It would be nice if you had some exposure to mobile projects based on iOS or AndroidBENEFITS-Frequent trips to our office in Berlin, we’ll train and start you up here at our office and then we’d like to have you over here at least a couple of weeks every quarter-Join a real tech company that counts among its investor and advisors people like Francesco Cesarini (Erlang Solutions) and Adam Wiggins (Heroku)-Get exposure and work with other technologies we use in house: Erlang, Rails, RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, node.js and others-Be part of a team of technical experts in a company where technology is key and matters-We offer education budget and extra days off to be spent on your self-development-At Contentful everybody works as an entrepreneur.
