We may not dye a river emerald like Chicago or hold a four-day festival like Dublin, but there are plenty of ways to go green in Jersey. Throughout March, celebrate St. Patrick’s Day around the state with performances, festivals and even a kilt run.

Caladh Nua

A band with roots in the Southern Counties of Ireland, Caladh Nua is comprised of five musicians and singers playing a wide selection of instruments including the banjo, fiddle, guitar, bodhran, tin whistle and button accordion. The band performs traditional Irish music with contemporary flair.

The Irish Tenors

Finbar Wright, Anthony Kearns, Ronan Tynan—The Irish Tenors—have been touring together since 1998. They are known for covering songs in many genres including “My Heart Will Go On,” “Danny Boy,” “Whiskey in the Jar” and “Fields Of Athenry.”

The Tartan Terrors

The Shannon Rose Kids’ St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

Bring your littlest leprechauns to the Clifton and Ramsey pubs for a family-friendly event including a scavenger hunt, Irish music, face painting and a leprechaun costume contest. From March 1- 31 each restaurant will offer a foods of Ireland menu.

Five Irish Tenors

On their first North American tour, the Five Irish Tenors bring wit and their operatic style to the Garden State. Starring David Martin, Aaron Crawley, Ciarán Kelly, Alan Leech and George Hutton, this concert features beloved Irish songs.

Red Mill Museum Village St. Patrick’s Day

After the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick parade in Clinton, head to the museum for a family-oriented Saint Patrick’s Day event. Enjoy crafts, games, a leprechaun trail scavenger hunt, live blacksmith demonstrations and Irish folk music by The Young Fiddlers from Hunterdon Musical Arts.

Allaire Village Historical Reenactment & St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

Tensions rise in Allaire Village as St. Patrick’s Day approaches. The Irish immigrants are facing opposition from the English and French workers who don’t appreciate that only the Irish are given the day off from work. There will be reenactments in the chapel at 12 pm and 2 pm.

Skylands Stadium St. Patrick’s Day Comedy Night

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a sidesplitting, three-act comedy show and Irish-inspired dinner and drinks at Skylands Stadium. Dig into the Irish buffet including favorites like shepherd’s pie, soda bread, corned beef and cabbage, and cheddar potatoes. Then, laugh out loud with comedians Doug Karpf, Joe Bronzi and Johnny “Gemini” Lombardi.

Shamrock & Shillelagh Fest

The fest features U2 tribute act The Unforgettable Fire, New Jersey Celtic punk rock band The Skels and DJ Patty O’Furniture. Asbury Park comedian and musician Taylor Allen hosts the festivities. Come hungry for an Irish buffet featuring classic dishes prepared by The Anchor’s Bend. Fans of Irish spirits can enjoy the Jameson Lounge and Guinness Beer Garden.

Danú

Hailing from historic County Waterford, Danú is a high-energy Irish ensemble. Their concert mixes ancient Irish music and new repertoire. Danú’s players on flute, tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion, bouzouki, and vocals take audiences on a musical journey to their native Ireland.

Bar A Kilt Run & Walk 2017

Grab a team, don a kilt and raise money for the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade in Belmar and Lake Como. The two-mile walk/run is followed by a buffet and entertainment from the Snakes, a New Jersey Irish band.
