Burnley manager Sean Dyche has admitted he would consider the idea of Joey Barton returning to the club.
The controversial midfielder worked with the 45-year-old at Turf Moor during their successful Championship campaign in 2015-16.

Barton played in 38 of Burnley’s 46 Championship games, scoring three goals in the process.
“I’ve been asked that [Barton returning] a lot and I’m not going to answer you,”Dyche told BBC Radio Five Live.
“Why should I? That’s for another day. We had three hours at my house before he agreed to come up to us.
“He was honest with me and I was honest with him and I think he liked that. I’m not suggesting anybody is not honest with him. I just found that he was a good platform to build from.”
The English player left the side in 2016 and moved to Rangers, where the club has since suspended him after a training ground incident with team-mate Andy Halliday.
In October he was charged by the Scottish Football Association for betting on 44 football matches, which further threw his future in Scottish football in doubt.
Despite his recent disciplinary issues, the Clarets manager praised him for his conduct while playing under him.
“He was first class on the pitch by the way – people forget that,” Dyche said.
“His conduct on the pitch: exemplary last season. I am telling you now, he was getting smashed all over the place.”
Barton started his career at Manchester City in 2002, where he stayed until 2007 when he moved to Newcastle United. He then had a spell at Queens Park Rangers, where he was loaned out to French side Marseille for a year during the 2012/13 season.
Burnley have 10 points from their first nine Premier League games this season, which has left them in 14th place in the standings.
