The Serbian Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vucic, left Brussels on Tuesday after Croatia vetoed the country’s progress towards EU membership.

Reportedly, he later said he “had enough” of Croatia’s behaviour.

He left behind him Jadranka Joksimovic, the Serbian Minister without Portfolio for European Integration

Serbia has opened four out of 35 chapters in its EU accession negotiations. On Monday Serbia secured the opening of Chapter 5 on Public Procurement and Chapter 25 on Science and Research.

However, Croatia blocked the opening of Chapter 26, covering education and culture, citing concerns on Croat minority education. Croatia objects to textbooks issued for Croatian language lessons. Apparently, the current textbooks are translations of Serbian textbooks rather than specially made for the minority. Croatia also wants Serbia to relinquish certain cultural artifacts.
