Job Description:

The Department of Psychological Sciences within the Ogden College of Science and Engineering at Western Kentucky University seeks a full-time tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology. Candidates will be expected to 1) teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of clinical psychological science, 2) establish an active research program in the area of clinical science, broadly defined, 3) actively seek external funding, 4) involve undergraduate and graduate students in research, and 5) participate in service at the department, college, and university level. Area of specialty is open, but we are especially interested in applicants with Health Psychology or Behavioral Medicine experience and focus.

The Department of Psychological Sciences offers a B.S. and minor in Psychological Science, a minor in Neuroscience, and M.S. programs in both Psychological Science and Industrial/Organizational Psychology. This growing department serves  approximately 150 undergraduate majors and 40 graduate students. The ideal candidate will contribute to the Clinical Psychological Science concentration area in the M.S. program, which is focused on increasing the research experience and clinical science knowledge of students interested in further doctoral study.

Employment begins in August 2017.

Requirements:

A Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program should be earned by time of appointment.

Demonstrated potential for excellence in research, teaching, and service.
