The Ibadan police command is to parade suspected assailants who allegedly killed a member of the Oyo state house of assembly, Gideon Aremu, on Monaday, August 8.

It was learnt that the lawmaker was reportedly killed by four suspected assassins, who trailed him to his Alakia residence on July, 1.
Information has it that his death generated controversy in the state, which prompted Governor Abiola Ajimobi to promise the sum of N5 million for whoever supplied information that could lead to the arrest of the assailants.
Vanguard reports that the state commissioner of police, Leye Oyebade, in a statement on Sunday, August 7, said the arrest was made possible by a combined team of intelligence response team of the inspector general of police, Ibrahim Idris, and detectives from the state police command.

The statement read: “Refer to the gruesome murder of Gideon Aremu on July 1, by some gunmen who made away with his phones and some money. I wish to inform you that four suspects have been arrested in connection with the crime.
“The arrest was made possible by the combined efforts of the intelligence response team of the inspector general of police, Ibrahim Idris, and detectives from Oyo state command.”
