Popular Nollywood actor turned politician , Kenneth Okonkwo has resigned as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to Supreme Tv, the actor parted ways with the leading opposition party for undisclosed reasons on Saturday, June 4.

In a handwritten resignation letter to the Chairman of Nkpunano ward, Okonkwo cited personal reasons for his resignation.

In 2015, Okonkwo declared his intention to represent the people of Nsukka/Igboeze South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly under the platform of PDP.

He was brought to limelight following the role he played as ‘Andy’ in the movie, Living in Bondage released in 1992. The Nollywood actor is a lawyer and a graduate of Business management from the University of Nigeria Nsukka.
