On January 19, President Muhammadu Buhari left Nigeria on 10-day medical vacation in United Kingdom.



He was expected to resume work on February 6 according to the first letter sent to the Senate on his medical leave.

But on February 5, a day before he was expected to resume work, the president sent a second letter to the Senate.

In the second letter which was sent through the Senate President Bukola Saraki, the president requested for an extension of his leave.

The presidential spokesperson Femi Adesina in a statement had said that: "The President had planned to return to Abuja this evening, but was advised to complete the test cycle before returning."

"The notice has since been dispatched to the Senate President, and Speaker, House of Representatives," Adesina said.

However, on Thursday, March 9, Adesina in another statement announced that the President will return to Nigeria on Friday.

And true to Adesina's statement President Muhammadu Buhari arrived Nigeria at 7.14 am on Friday, March 10 amidst jubilation and frenzy.

He was welcomed by numerous family members, friends, associates and politicians.

Also among those who welcomed Buhari are governors of various states across Nigeria.

Below are governors of five different states who were in Abuja to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari:
