You did it ARMYs—BTS’ latest single ‘“Dynamite” just debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, making them the first all-Korean act to achieve the feat.
“Dynamite” marks the band’s first No. 1 single and fourth top ten hit, following “Fake Love,” “Boy With Luv,” and “On,” their previous peak, which debuted at No. 4.
The news comes hot off the heels of the South Korean boy group’s explosive debut performance of the single, which aired during last night’s MTV VMA. It also makes a pretty sweet birthday gift for member Jungkook, who celebrated his 24th birthday the same day the news broke.
While the group has appeared on other English-language tracks like Steve Aoki’s “Waste It On Me,” and Lauv’s “Who,” the disco-pop banger is BTS’ first single to be sung entirely in English.
The accompanying music video, which dropped last Friday, has also made history.
“Dynamite” now holds YouTube records for the biggest music video premiere of all time, most views within the first 24 hours of release (a whopping 101.1 million) and the fastest music video to reach 200 million views, which it achieved in four days.
