her clothing. She had decided she would explore the ranch while the family was away. She made her way outside, and headed down toward the barn and stables. The ranch was huge. There were several large stables beside the large barn. As well as a long building that served as a bunkhouse. She passed several large corrals where cowboys were working. She followed a road that led out to the pastures that were separated by fences. Some pastures held horses, others had cattle. She stopped to pet several horses.

Chapter Seventeen

Vladirmir Daratrazanoff arrived by chopper. He looked over his massive ranch with pride. His son was taking care of the place everything looked in order. He was glad to be home. But he wasnt happy about the reason for his visit. His grandson was getting married, to a commoner! Like father like son he thought in disgust. He had expected more from his grandson. Well he was here now and he intended to look the situation over. The fact that the girl was pregnant made no difference to him. He would see to it that the girl had an abortion. She would of course be well compensated. And that would be it. He was sure he could reason with the girl in question. He had arrived a day earlier than planned in hopes of catching the family unprepared. He knew his son well. They probably planned to stash the girl somewhere upon his arrival. The chopper landed on the lawn smoothly. An employee opened the door and lowered the steps to the chopper. Vladirmir stepped from chopper but didnt duck the turning blades on the chopper. It was a fools inclination to duck the blades; the blades were higher than his head even at his height of 64. The chopper was impressively large. The same size as the one used to transport the president. It was equipped with cutting edge technology. The chopper was all black with the Daratrazanoffs name etched in gold letters on the doors. The inside was made of cream colored Italian leather, and wood. There was a table that sat four people by the window. And a sofa bench seat, that sat four more. A refrigerator, sink, microwave, and a bathroom, with a toilet and sink. A TV, and several phones. The counters were made of granite, the faucets of gold. The chopper was made of bulletproof material. And it had its own weapons system, including machine guns and rocket launchers. The crew included a pilot and copilot, as well as a navigator, and communications officer. Leaving the chopper Vladirmir was accompanied by his personal valet, and his security detail. He had twelve men on his security detail. A second chopper had landed with his security detail. They joined him as he walked across the lawn toward two waiting limos. Vladirmir and his valet climbed into the first car. His security detail rode in the second car. The cars drove up to the main entrance. Where Arthur and the entire staff were lined up outside for his inspection. Vladirmir shook his head in wonder; he had been trying for years to catch Arthur unprepared. But had never succeeded, the old butler was always prepared. The staff was fully assembled and immaculate in appearance. He could find no flaw. I take it my rooms are prepared? Vladirmir asked marching up the stairs where Arthur waited by the door.

Yes, everything is in order, just as you requested Sir. Arthur answered stiffly. He had never been at ease around Vladirmir Daratrazanoff. The man set his nerves on edge. Always finding fault with something. He waited for Vladirmir and his security detail to enter the house, before entering the house himself.

Have my things brought up to my room. Vladirmir ordered walking toward the library. And send whomevers in charge of security today too the library. Vladirmir marched down the hall with several security guards in tow. His valet headed upstairs to oversee the unpacking of his belongings. Vladirmir took a seat behind the massive desk, and nodded to a guard when someone tapped on the door. The guard opened the door, allowing a security guard to enter.

You wanted to see me Sir? Paul the Chief of Security asked coming to stand before the massive desk.

I would like you to explain to me how a virus got into our system and took the whole system out? Vladirmir asked his face darkened as he spoke.

Were looking into it Sir. Whoever it was, was an expert. Paul answered starting to sweat under Vladirmirs cold stare.

Thats not good enough. I spend a fortune on security and yet my ranch is currently defenseless against attack. He told Paul.

Sir we have the men. Ive doubled the patrols until the system is fixed. Paul stated.

You get the system up and running or youre done as Head of Security here. Vladirmir ordered. And you make damn sure this never happens again! Now where might I find the young lady to whom my grandson is marrying? Vladirmir asked with a hard look.

Shes down at the stables. Paul replied nervously. He knew better than to lie to Vladirmir Daratrazanoff.

Is that so? Vladirmir said in surprise. He had expected the girl to be lounging about the house.

Yes Sir, she likes horses. The guard assured him.

My security chief will be looking over security on the ranch. Vladirmir said looking Paul over. You may go. He said dismissing him. Vladirmir leaned back in his chair for a moment. You look over security, and make sure there arent any flaws. Get the boys settled in. Im going to track this girl down, and deal with her. Vladirmir told his chief of security, rising from his chair. Walking out of the library he headed toward his suite of rooms that were located in the farthest wing of the house. He made his way down several long hallways. He inspected things as he walked. Everything appeared to be in order. Reaching his rooms he headed upstairs to his bedroom. His valet was over seeing the unpacking of his clothes. Get me a pair of jeans and work shirt; Im going down to the stables. He ordered his Valet.

Katie was having fun exploring the stables. She loved horses, and was looking forward to getting to ride one of them. She wondered whom she should ask. She was walking through the stables when a man called out to her.

Katie, come here. Will the ranch foreman said waving her over too him. He was in his early sixties. His hair and beard were gray, his eyes were almost black. He had a medium build. Get to work cleaning those stables out over there. He told Katie indicating several stables on the end where a wheelbarrow and pitchfork were waiting. He was angry at the girl for lying to him, but at the same time he felt sorry for her. She was still a ranch employee and a damn good one.

Okay. Katie said not wanting to argue with the man. She had pretended to be a ranch hand and now she was trapped in the role it appeared, but she didnt really mind it would give her something to do at least. She was a farm girl after all and had cleaned her share of barns. She walked over to the stall and picked up a pitchfork. Going into the stall she started scooping up poop, and carrying it toward the wheel barrel.

Will looked up in surprise as he saw Vladirmir Daratrazanoff headed toward him. It was a rare sight to see Vladirmir these days. Every since his marriage, he hadnt been around much.

About time you showed up, Id given you up for dead! Will told him, with a smile.

Will. Vladirmir said with a smile. He was dressed in blue jeans and a blue denim work shirt. He wore a brown cowboy hat, and cowboy boots.

What brings you down here? Will asked, shaking his hand.

Im looking for my grandsons fiance. I was told she was down here looking at the horses. Vladirmir answered; he liked Will. They had been friends for years.

I havent seen her. What does she look like? Will lied.

I dont know, but Im sure shell stand out. Probably dressed in designer jeans and such. Vladirmir said not bothering to hide his disgust.

Well I havent seen anyone like that. Ill ask the boys. Maybe one of them saw her. Will replied with a frown. Boy was he in for a surprise Will thought thinking of Katies simple jeans and shirt. Clearly Vladirmir didnt think much of his grandsons bride to be.

Do that, Im going to look through the stables. I hear she likes horses. Vladirmir said heading off toward the stables. Ill see you later Will, we got some catching up to do. He called over his shoulders.

While, Vladirmir was looking for Dmitrys fiance. Arthur was busy trying to locate Raven. He finally reached her after several attempts. What is it Arthur? Raven asked when she finally answered her phone. She had turned it off during the meeting.

I wanted to inform you that Mr. Daratrazanoff has arrived. Arthur informed her quickly.

What? Hes a day early. Raven said with alarm. Katie was alone on the ranch. Where is Katie? She asked fearfully. Vladirmir would tear the poor girl apart.

Down at the stables. Arthur replied. Mr. Daratrazanoff is down there looking for her. I have security looking for Miss Anderson; theyll stash her somewhere if they get to her first. Arthur told her.

Thank you Arthur, Ill alert Sergei and come straight home. Raven said before hanging up. She quickly dialed her husbands office. Yes, this is Raven Daratrazanoff. I need to speak to Sergei, its urgent!

Sergei and Dmitry were in his office going over reports. Sergei was seated behind his desk flipping through reports. Dmitry was seated at a nearby table working on his laptop. There was a stack of reports next to him. They both looked up when the buzzer sounded on Sergeis desk. I thought I told you to hold all calls. Sergei told his secretary, clearly irritated.

Its your wife, she says its urgent! The secretary replied quickly.

Put her through. Sergei said. What is it Darling? Sergei asked into the phone. What! Sergei asked again clearly upset. When? Calm down will come home. Sergei said with a frown. Hanging up the phone he looked at Dmitry, his face grim.

What? Has something happened to Katie? Dmitry asked in alarm.

Not yet. Sergei replied, picking up his phone, he pressed a button. Dino call and have the chopper pick us up on the roof, tell them to hurry, He said before slamming the phone down.

Whats going on? Dmitry asked getting up from his chair.

Dads at the ranch. And hes looking for Katie. We need to get back to the ranch. Sergei informed his son heading toward the door.

Grandpa wont hurt her. Dmitry argued growing alarmed.

Not physically. But hell probably get rid of her. Sergei told his son grimly.

What do you mean? Dmitry demanded following his Dad out of the office.

He didnt like me marrying your mother, and he did everything in his power to stop me from marrying her. I dont think he intends to let history repeat itself. Sergei told him as they hurried down the hall toward the elevators.

Walking through the stables Vladirmir encountered a young woman mucking out the stalls.

Excuse me miss? He called walking toward her.

Katie looked up to see a tall man in his sixties or seventies walking toward her. Yes. She said setting aside the scoop shovel she had been using. She assumed he was yet another employee of the Daratrazanoffs. Im almost finished with the stalls. She told him with a smile.

Good work. Vladirmir said looking the stalls over briefly, before turning to study the girl. She had long blond hair and blue eyes. She was just a kid, small of stature. She reminded him of his late wife. She had smudges of dirt on her face and she was sweating. But he didn't doubt she would be a beauty when she was clean and dressed up. I was wondering if you had seen a young woman wandering around here looking at the horses. Shes probably dressed pretty fancy. He asked after a moment.

No Sir. Katie answered wiping the sweat from her brow. And Ive been working in here for nearly two hours.

Well Ill keep looking. Keep up the good work. Vladirmir said giving her a rare smile.

I will. Katie said picking up the shovel. She quickly finished cleaning the stall. Her back and arms ached; it had been a while since she last did this kind of work. She sighed in relief when she had at last finished the stall. She looked up to see the foreman headed her way. Im done. She said proudly indicating the clean stalls.

Good work. The foreman said after inspecting her work. Come with me. There are some stray cows that need to be rounded up in the north pasture. You ride out with the boys and help them. He told her as they walked out of the stable. Katie had to run to keep up with him. Take that mare there. He said indicating a mare that was already saddled and tied to a fence.

Okay. Katie said hurrying over to the horse. She untied the mare and climbed into the saddle. She was excited over the chance to ride. This was much better than mucking stables she thought happily. She followed the other cowboys that were riding out. They galloped through the pasture toward the north pasture.

Raven arrived at the mansion in a near panic. Arthur greeted her at the front door. Have you found Katie? She said hurrying inside.

No, security is still looking? Arthur answered closing the doors.

And where is my father in-law? Raven asked dreading his answer.

Still out looking for Miss Anderson. Arthur told her quietly.

Great! Raven said her voice was brittle. She spent the next thirty minutes pacing the living room floor, and cursing herself for leaving the poor girl alone. Hearing a chopper she sighed with relief. Sergei was finally home. She hurried out to the main hall to await his arrival. Within a few minutes Dmitry entered the house followed by Sergei.

Wheres Katie? Dmitry asked worry etched into his face.

I dont know. No ones been able to find her. Raven told him quietly.

My father? Sergei asked her.

Hes missing too. Someone saw him ride out about an hour ago. Raven answered embracing her husband.

Find her. Dmitry ordered Leonid quietly. Before heading down the hall to talk with security. What the hell are we paying you people for? Dmitry demanded entering the security office. How the hell do you lose her, weve got cameras everywhere! He yelled at Paul.

The cameras are still down. Paul replied calmly.

We spend a fortune on security and this is what we get! Why the hell are you sitting in here? Get your ass out there find her. Dmitry said very close to beating the crap out of him. He silently cursed himself for ordering his men to disable the security cameras.

Im monitoring the search parties from here. Someone has to be here to do that. Paul said in his defense.

You better hope you find her and soon. Dmitry threatened causing the Paul to swallow hard.

After a while they came to a halt on a rise overlooking the pasture. There they are. One of the hands said pointing to some cows that were grazing in the pasture. Lets split up and start rounding them up. He said before giving his horse a kick. They started down the rise toward the cattle. Katie had no idea what she was supposed to do. But she rode through the pasture looking for more cows. Everywhere she looked cowboys were rounding up strays. She could see water in the distance and decided to ride out toward it. Clearly the hands didnt need her help. And she wanted to explore the ranch more. It took a while but she finally reached a large body of water. It was too small to be a lake she decided. Probably a pond, created by spring run off from the mountains. As she got closer she heard a calf bawling. Glancing around she rode closer to the pond. The bawling was getting louder; she looked out over the water. A calf was stuck in the pond. Its head barely above water as it struggled. The poor thing would drown she thought. Its head kept disappearing below the water as it thrashed about. Taking the rope from around her saddle horn she hopped off her horse. She hurried into the water. She made her way toward the struggling calf. It was a warm day, and the water, cooled her off. She finally reached the struggling calf. She managed to get the rope around the calfs head. The poor thing was so weak it was having trouble keeping its head above the water. It would drown if she didnt get it out soon. As she started back to shore the calfs head disappeared beneath the water. Dammit! She thought hurrying to her horse. She climbed into the saddle and wrapped the rope around the saddle horn. Than she kicked her horse and the horse moved back struggling to pull the calf out. But the calf was stuck good. She was relieved to see the calfs head above water. But was afraid the rope would strangle the poor thing before she could get it out. Her heart was pounding as she urged the horse to pull harder. Finally the calf was free. But too weak, to stand. Her horse managed to pull it to shore. But than the large calf just flopped over onto its side, becoming a dead weight. The calf was still lying in shallow water. It needed to lift its head to breath. Jumping down from the horse Katie ran back to the calf. She didnt notice Vladirmir riding toward her. She was lifting the calfs head onto her lap, so that it could breathe.

What have we got here? Vladirmir asked dismounting from his horse. He had been out looking for the women Dmitry planned to marry when he came across Katie.

The calf got stuck in the water. I managed to pull him partly out, but than he collapsed. Now I cant get him to move. Katie told the man, stroking the calfs head. There were tears in her eyes; she didnt want to lose the calf.

Ill get my rope. Both horses should be able to pull him all the way out. Vladirmir told her not missing her tears. The poor kid was taking it hard. He got his rope, although he doubted he would be able to save the calf. The poor thing was too far gone. Still the body needed to be removed from the water, or it would contaminate the water. He wrapped his rope around the calfs neck. Come on lets get him out of the water. He told Katie. He walked back to his horse and mounted it. Katie hurried over to her horse and quickly mounted it. Together they pulled the calf out of the water and up onto the beach. Katie hopped down and hurried to loosen the ropes around its neck. The calf was still breathing, but it was shallow. Vladirmir quickly examined the calf. Katie sat at its head stroking it.

Will he be all right? She asked seeing his frown.

No, hes too far gone. Ill have to put him down. He replied reluctantly. The poor kid took the news hard. Tears started streaming down her cheeks. You head back to the ranch; Ill take care of it. Vladirmir told her. Katie nodded her head, and got up. She walked back to the horse and mounted. Giving it a kick she headed back to the ranch. She didnt know why she was so upset; she was a farm girl after all. Losing animals was just part of life. Had the calf survived it would have ended up on someones plate eventually. Must be the pregnancy she thought. It was messing with her emotions. She jumped at the sound of a gun shot. It was over! The calf was gone! At least it wouldnt suffer anymore. She slowed her horse to a walk; it occurred to her that she had no idea how to get back to the house. And it was getting late the sun was going down. She would wait for the old cowboy to catch up, than she could follow him in. Drying her tears with her shirt, she looked around at her surroundings. The ranch was huge, pastures stretched out for miles. Hearing the thunder of hooves she glanced over her shoulder to see the cowboy riding toward her.

Whats your name kid? Vladirmir asked bringing his horse up beside hers.

Katie. She replied as they rode along. Whats yours?

Vladirmir. He decided not to tell her he was a Daratrazanoff. How long have you worked here?

A little over two weeks.. Katie answered.

What do you think of the ranch? Vladirmir asked smiling. She looked like a drowned rat.

Its beautiful. Katie commented looking around in wonder.

This the first time youve worked on a ranch?

No, Im a fourth generation farm girl. Katie replied proudly.

What does your family raise? He asked still smiling. She was proud of her heritage he thought.

At one time everything. But now its just wheat and Barley. My great grandpa had dairy cows at one time. Than we went to raising cattle for beef for a while, but when the market started taking a hit, my grandpa got out of the cattle business. Now we raise wheat and barley. Katie explained to him.

Do you have horses? Vladirmir wondered.

No, I had a pony when I was younger, thats how I learned to ride. But my dad sold the pony. I havent been able to talk him into buying a horse. Katie answered shaking her head.

How many acres does your family farm?

Twenty-four hundred acres! Its not a real big farm. Katie said realizing how small her farm was compared to this ranch.

Farmers and Ranchers are the back bone of this country, you remember that. Vladirmir told her. He kicked his horse to pick up the pace. It got cold when the sun went down. And the poor kid was soaked. They rode hard. The girl was a natural in the saddle. When they arrived back at the ranch they pulled their mounts to a halt outside the building that housed the Foremans office. Will was standing outside talking to the men. He glanced up when Vladirmir and Katie rode up. Seeing Katies condition, he strolled over to offer her a hand down.

Are you alright Katie? What happened? Did the horse throw you? He asked reaching up to help her down. He shouldnt have sent her out. Dimitry would kill him if she lost the baby she was carrying. He had been angry over her deceit and wanted to punish her.

Im okay. She assured him through chattering teeth. She was so cold.

You best go get dried off. Vladirmir told her handing the reins to their horses to one of the hands.

Katie nodded and headed in the direction of the bunkhouses. Once she was out of their sight she would slip around the buildings and head back to the mansion. She shivered in the cold night air, unable to keep her teeth from chattering. As soon as I get back to the house Im going to take a long hot bath. She just hoped that she could slip up to her room without being seen. She made her way carefully toward the house. Dodging amongst trees and bushes. Once the barn disappeared from sight, she moved out onto the road and walked up the hill toward the house. As she got closer she could see men moving about outside with flashlights. Great! How do I get by the security guards without being seen? Oh well! She was too cold to spend time trying to find a back entrance. What did she care if security saw her? She was a guest after all. She continued to walk toward the mansion, nearly numb from the cold. Suddenly someone grabbed her arm from behind causing her to cry out in fear.

Easy there. Leonid told her turning her around. She was soaked from head to toe. Her skin felt like ice. He could feel her trembling. What happened to you? He asked in concern. Dmitry would go berserk when he saw her condition.

Its a long story. Can I tell you later? Im so cold! Katie said she was shaking all over.

Lets get you up to the house. Leonid said turning to walk her up to the house. Ive got her. He said into a hand held radio. By the time they reached the house everyone had assembled in the main hall. Coming to a halt just inside the doors they were greeted by a dozen or more people. Katie groaned as a dozen eyes turned toward her. Dmitry, Sergei, and Raven, were among those looking at her. God hates me she thought glumly.

What the hell happened to you? Did my Grandpa do this too you? Dmitry asked hurrying to her. She was soaked. She had mud on her face and arms. Her jeans and boots were caked with more mud.

What? No. Katie answered in surprise. Why would he think his Grandpa had done this to her. Im okay. She assured him through chattering teeth.

Did my grandpa talk to you? Dmitry asked.

No, I thought he wasnt coming till tomorrow. Katie answered. Can we talk later; I need to get out of these clothes.

Take her upstairs, and get her warmed up. Sergei told Dmitry. Your Grandpa will no doubt be here soon. He was very relieved that Katie hadnt run into his father. But something had happened to the girl. She looked like a drowned rat.

Katie hurried upstairs with Dmitry in tow. Once they reached her room she hurried into the bathroom to start filling the tub. Dmitry followed her to the door. He watched her struggle to pull her boots off, a difficult task as her fingers were numb. Here let me help you. Dmitry said kneeling before her. Grasping her boot he pulled it off. Water dripped onto the floor from the boot. Pulling the other one off, he removed her socks. Katie was at a loss over what to do. She couldnt take her clothes off with him in here. But he clearly expected her to do that. He has seen me naked, she thought. Oh hell! She was too cold to care. She could see the steam rising off the hot bath water. With a sigh she pulled her sopping wet T-shirt off. It was a chore getting the wet jeans off, and she was glad to have Dmitrys help. While he pulled those off, she undid her bra. Tossing it aside, she took her panties off. And quickly, climbed into the tub. She sank into the hot water so that only her head was above water. Within moments the hot water warmed away her chills. She sighed in relief.

Feeling better? Dmitry asked his eyes moving over her naked body. He didnt see any sign of injury. No bruises! Nothing, to indicate that she had fallen. So how had she gotten wet, and where had she been?

Much better. Katie replied.

Do you want to tell me what happened? Dmitry asked, but they were interrupted by a knock on the door. Going out into the bedroom he closed the bathroom door, just as his father walked in.

How is she? Sergei asked in concern.

She seems to be alright, she doesnt appear to be injured. Dmitry asked annoyed by the interruption.

How did she get all wet? Sergei asked with a frown.

I havent had a chance to ask her yet. Shes taking a hot bath. Dmitry replied.

Well explanations will have to wait until later. Your Grandpas back, and hes pissed! He thinks security sent him on a wild goose chase per my orders. He wants to fire all of our security Sergei told Dmitry. Youd better go shower and change. Your grandpa wants us all present at dinner.

What about Katie? Dmitry asked in annoyance.

What about her? Sergei asked heading to the door.

She clearly needs to rest after her ordeal. Dmitry told his father.

Shell have to rest later. Sergei called over his shoulder as he walked out.

Christ! Dmitry thought walking over to the closet to open the door. There wasnt a lot to choose from. Katie needed to be fitted for an entire wardrobe and soon. Searching through the hangers Dmitry found a black gown that would do for dinner. Laying it on the bed. He went to the dressers and pulled out a black corset and stockings with matching black panties. He laid those on the bed as well. Before opening the jewelry box to retrieve the diamond necklace, bracelet, and earrings he had bought her. She needed more jewelry as well. With a sigh, he went back into the bathroom. He found Katie washing her hair. She glanced up with a blush when he entered.

I laid some clothes out for you to wear for dinner. Dmitry replied enchanted by her blush. He couldnt keep his eyes from wandering over her naked flesh. Dinners with my Grandpa are always formal. He explained quickly. I need to go shower and change as well. Ill see you at dinner. He quickly left the room, ignoring the urge to join her. Forcing celibacy on him was the worst thing his father had ever done to him. And it wouldnt work he vowed, he just needed to find away to get around his fathers latest rule. He could of course call any number of women who would be more than willing to satisfy his needs. But he wanted Katie too much to turn to another woman. Hed been raised to believe in commitment. His parents had set a strong example in that department. They were completely devoted to each other. And he knew his father had never been unfaithful to his mother. That was his one worry. He had cheated on his first wife on several occasions. He had been very discreet and his wife had never learned of his cheating. He had cared deeply for his wife, and hed hated cheating on her. But hed closed several deals during his marriage by bedding other women. And then his wife had been killed, and hed had to live with his guilt. Now there was Katie to consider, he was determined to be faithful to her. He wouldnt make the same mistakes in this marriage.

Vladirmir strolled into a large formal parlor wearing a black tux. Raven was seated on the couch with a glass of wine in her hand. She was dressed in a green floor length gown. That was cut low in the front, displaying her ample cleavage. Sergei was standing by the fireplace with a drink in his hand. He was dressed in a black tuxedo as well. Where is everyone? Vladirmir asked taking a drink from a tray carried by a young butler.

Their getting ready, they should be down in a few minutes. Sergei answered taking a swallow from his glass. He was drinking whiskey straight, hoping to settle his nerves.

So tell me about this girl youre allowing Dmitry to marry. Vladirmir asked turning to look at his son.

Shes a very nice girl. Sergei said simply.

Thats it. What do you know about this girl if anything? Vladirmir demanded.

Gramps. Dmitry said by way of greeting as he entered the parlor dressed in a black tuxedo as well. He grabbed a drink off a butlers tray.

So wheres this girl youre marrying? Vladirmir asked him with a frown.

Upstairs, shell be down in a few minutes. Dmitry answered bracing himself.

What the hell? Thanks for ditching me at the office. Dima said angrily, he was still dressed in the suit hed worn to work. Hi Grandpa. Dima said in surprise.

Your grandpa showed up a day early. Sergei said with a frown.

And your father sent me on a wild goose chase. Vladirmir added. Guess were all pissed. So Dmitry tell me about this girl youre marrying. Where did you meet her?

Yes Dmitry tell us how you met? Dima asked sarcastically, earning a glare from his brother.

I met her in L.A, she was vacationing there. Dmitry answered, shooting a look of warning at Dima.

How long have you known this girl? Vladirmir asked not missing the friction between the two brothers.

A little over two weeks. Dmitry answered reluctantly.

I see. Vladirmir said with a frown of disapproval.

Shes a nice girl, youll like her. Dmitry added quickly.

Cant be too nice shes knocked up? Vladirmir replied.

Do you have my house bugged? Sergei demanded anger evident in his voice. How had his father found out about the pregnancy? Hed have a sweep for wires done as soon as his Dad left.

Has a paternity test been performed yet? Vladirmir asked ignoring Sergeis question.

No. Dmitry replied with a shake of his head.

Why not? Vladirmir asked him.

Because theres no question that the baby is mine. She was a virgin when I slept with her. Dmitry answered with a grimace.

Are you sure? Women can fake a lot of things. Vladirmir told him.

Yes, there was blood on the sheets. Dmitry said uncomfortably. He was glad Katie wasnt present for this.

She could have hopped in bed with someone else after she left you? Vladirmir told him.

Shes not like that. Dmitry told him quietly.

Nico nearly choked outside the doorway. Yup she wasnt the type to jump from one bed to another alright! He shot an angry glance toward Katie who was making her way toward the doorway. He brushed past feeling ill.

How would you know? Youve only known her a little over two weeks. Vladirmir replied. Even if the baby is yours. You dont have to marry her, she can have an abortion. Vladirmir told him.

Shes not getting an abortion. Its my baby, and I want it. Dmitry told his Grandpa firmly.

Than will pay her off and take the baby. Vladirmir told him with a shrug.

Im marrying her. Dmitry said firmly.

No youre not, I forbid it. Vladirmir told him.

You cant, Im old enough to make my own choice.

I can. As long as you work in my company and live under my roof youll obey me. Vladirmir told him his voice rising in anger.

Fine I quit! Dmitry told him calmly. I dont have to work for Daratrazanoff; there are plenty of companies that would love to have me.

Maybe, but I doubt they would pay as well or offer you the power you now enjoy. Think about it Dmitry is this girl worth losing everything over. Vladirmir demanded loudly.

Staring toward the doorway Katie had just entered Dmitry said with a smile. Yes she is.

Katie smiled in relief as Dmitry started toward her. And than Dmitrys Grandpa turned around to face her. Katie was shocked to see Vladirmir the old hand that had helped her with the steer.

Vladirmir stared at the vision in the doorway. Lisa. He said his voice shaking with emotion.

Katie. She reminded him as Dmitry brought her to meet him.

Grandpa this is Katie, the girl Im going to marry. Dmitry told his Grandpa who looked like hed just seen a ghost.

Katie. Vladirmir replied in confusion. Her resemblance to his late wife was startling. She could have been Lisas double. He just stared at her dumbfounded. Finally his head cleared enough to think. Katie, youre marrying one of our hands? Vladirmir asked remembering the girl as the girl he had met earlier in the day.

What? No! Dmitry answered startled by the question.

Than why was she mucking out stables when I met her earlier? Vladirmir asked Dmitry regaining his composure.

What? Dmitry asked in anger. What was she doing working down at the stables again?

You clean up well. Vladirmir told Katie taking her hand in his.

Thank you. Katie replied blushing. This was so embarrassing.

I thought you said you hadnt talked to my Dad? Sergei said in confusion.

He didnt tell me he was Dmitrys Grandfather. Katie replied quietly.

You didnt tell me you were Dmitrys fiance. Vladirmir told her releasing her hand.

Wait a minute! You were mucking out the stables again? Dmitry questioned.

She was when I met her this morning. I never would have guessed she was your fiance. She was dressed in jeans, boots, and a T-shirt. Shes a hard worker; I inspected the stalls she cleaned out. Vladirmir commented lost in thought. He had liked this girl instantly. And now to discover she was the girl Dmitry intended to marry. This put a different tilt on things.

Why were you cleaning stalls again? Dmitry asked staring at her in confusion.

I went down to the stables to look at the horses. Will came along and put me to work. He still thinks Im an employee. He put me to work cleaning stalls. Katie answered with a shrug. Its no big deal.

Youre pregnant! You just got out of the hospital, your supposed to be resting Dmitry told her. What the hell Will knew damn well she wasnt an employee!!

Since he was a rich kid, who had probably never worked an honest day in his life, Katie felt safe in saying. It sounds harder than it really is. Trust me its not hard to clean out a stall.

Really. Ive mucked out my share of stalls, and its not easy work. Dmitry commented seeing her surprised look he added. My first job was mucking stables on the ranch.

Oh, well I didnt do it for very long. She lied.

She cleaned out four stalls. Vladirmir put in.

It didnt take that long. Katie assured him quickly.

I dont care how long it took your suppose to be resting. Dmitry told her trying to hold onto his temper.

She didnt get much of that. When she got done with the stalls, she rode out to help round up strays. I found her trying to pull a steer out that got stuck in water out in the north pasture.

What? Dmitry said angrily.

It was no big deal. Katie assured him.

Takes gumption to try to pull a steer out by yourself. Most would go get help. Vladirmir observed.

So thats why you came in looking like a drowned rat. Sergei said smiling. Dmitry looked ready to wring her neck.

There wasnt time to go for help, he was drowning. Besides the horse did all the work.

She managed to get him unstuck. But the steer laid over on his side. Before she could get him all the way out. I helped pull him out the rest of the way.

Is the steer alright? Sergei asked his Dad with a frown.

No, I had to put it down. Vladirmir replied. He didnt miss the hurt that came into Katies eyes. She had wanted to save the steer. Farm life had not hardened her; she still cared for things. Even a steer that was bound for someones plate. She was just like Lisa he thought. She would give Dmitry fits. But he would never be bored with her. Well Ive seen and heard all I need too. Katie its my honor to welcome you into our family. You have my blessing. He told them as he reached out and hugged Katie.

Sitting on the sofa Raven nearly dropped her wine glass. She had been married to Sergei for twenty-three years and had never seen Vladirmir hug a single person, including his daughter. The fact that he was giving Dmitry his blessing to marry Katie really hurt. He had never accepted Raven. But here he was welcoming some poor farm girl. It was enough to make her sick. The bastard!

Lets eat. Vladirmir said with a smile slapping Dmitry on the back.

Im starved, I missed lunch. Katie told Vladirmir smiling in relief.

You didnt eat lunch? Dmitry asked he still looked as if he wanted to throttle her. We need to have a talk.

Talk with her later. Vladirmir said guiding Katie from the room. Ill tell you all about Daratrazanoff family over dinner.

Sergei waited until they were out of the room before turning to Dmitry. What the hell just happened here?

I told you Grandpa wouldnt have a problem with me marrying Katie. Dmitry said in an attempt hide his confusion.

I guess you didnt hear him threaten to disinherit you. Sergei grumbled.

Why did he change his mind? Dima wondered aloud.

Who knows? The old bastard probably losing his marbles. Raven put in angrily. Sergei, Dima and Dmitry turned to look at her in surprise.

What difference does it make? The important thing is he gave us his blessing. Dmitry said handing his drink to a waiting butler.

I cant believe she cleaned the stables again. Dima said shaking his head.

I doubt shell carry the baby to term. Raven commented taking another sip of wine.

What do you mean? Dmitry asked his Mom.

Shes a miscarriage waiting to happen. Raven said feeling tipsy from the wine she had drunk.

There arent going to be any repeats of today. Dmitry assured them storming from the room.

Shes giving him fits. Sergei commented after his son had left the room. He frowned when he noticed Raven taking another glass of wine from a butler.

Im going to go get something to eat. Dima said before leaving the room, a dark frown on his face. Hed secretly hoped his grandfather would stop Dmitrys marriage to Katie. And was disappointed by the turn of events.

Raven, I think youve had enough. Sergei said after Dima had gone, indicating the glass of wine in her hand.

Really? I dont think so. Raven told him with a shake of her head. He hugged her. Raven commented before taking a long swallow of wine.

So? Sergei asked with a frown. He had never seen his wife like this.

So, weve been married for twenty-three years and Ive never see him hug anyone. Raven said with a frown. Before, quickly finishing her glass of wine.

I dont understand it either. Unless hes playing some sort of game. Sergei told her.

What do you mean? Raven asked looking at her husband curiously.

It was too easy; he has to be up to something. Sergei answered still thinking over his fathers behavior.

Excuse me Sir, but your father would like me to remind you that he doesnt like to be kept waiting. Arthur said from the doorway.

Nodding his head Sergei grasped Raven arm and led her from the room.

Leaving the room Dmitry had headed down to the main dinning room. His Grandfather and Katie were already seated at the dinning room table. A butler pulled out a chair for him and he sat next to Katie. Dima arrived a few minutes later to take a seat across from Katie.

Wheres your Grandma? Dmitry asked when the woman still hadnt arrived.

She went back to Spokane. Katie answered. She didnt like being left here all alone. But she knew her Grandma had been right to leave. Her Grandma was headed back to Spokane to deal with the rest of their family. Something she couldnt trust her mother to do. Her Grandma would head down to the family farm, when she got back. She would talk to Katies Dad and explain everything.

Im surprised you didnt go with her? Dima asked from across the table.

I didnt think I would be able too. Katie told him in surprise.

Youre not a hostage. Dima told her earning a glare from Dmitry.

Oh. Katie said. She wasnt so sure of that.

Youre not a hostage, but it is important that you stay here for now. Dmitry explained seeing her confusion.

Vladirmir watched the exchange with interest. There was defiantly something amiss between the two brothers. With a wave of his hand he summoned Arthur over. Tell my son, I dont like to be kept waiting.

Yes Sir. Arthur said before turning to do his bidding.

Sergei and Raven arrived at the table. Sergei took a seat at the end of the table opposite his father. Raven was seated to her husbands right, preferring to be as far away from her father in-law as possible.

About time. Vladirmir grumbled nodding to Arthur to begin serving them. When the servants were finished, Vladirmir gazed down the table at his son. I assume youve arranged the board meeting I requested. He asked frowning.

Yes. Sergei answered his father.

Good. Vladirmir said cutting into his steak. They ate in silence, everyones nerves on edge. Vladirmir found himself looking at Katie throughout the meal. He couldnt get over her resemblance to his late wife. Even after all these years his heart ached for his late wife. How he had loved her. He had never loved another woman. He was quite fond of his current wife and they had a good marriage. Jasmine accepted him and what he was able to give of himself. She never complained, but than she had her own ghost. She had lost her first husband. He had been the love of her life, just as Lisa had been his. After dinner he would tell Katie about his family. Katie, do you like to camp? Vladirmir asked absently.

Yes, I love the outdoors. Especially the mountains. Katie answered with a smile of longing.

Good. Im planning to ride up to the old homestead day after tomorrow, youll accompany me. Vladirmir said looking at Katie.

Okay. Katie said unable to hide her enthusiasm.

Dmitry youll accompany of course. Vladirmir added seeing that Dmitry was about to object.

Sure Grandpa. Dmitry answered. Hed have to cancel a dozen meetings. But what the hell! Katie clearly wanted to go.

No Dad! Dmitry has responsibilities at work. I cant spare him right now. Sergei told his Dad.

Surely you can spare him for four days. I want to take a trip up to the old homestead. Show Katie where Dmitrys great great great great great grandfather settled. Vladirmir replied firmly.

Its not possible Dad. Sergei answered just as firmly.

Fine, Ill take Katie than.

No, shes not going without me. Dmitry said shaking his head at his Grandpa.

But Dmitry, I want to go. Please. She pleaded with him.

Seems were at an impasse. Vladirmir grumbled determined to have his way.

Alright than, as CEO of Daratrazanoff Im ordering Dmitry to come. Youll have to make do without him.

Dad! Sergei warned him.

Ive made my decision. Dima can handle Dmitrys responsibilities. Vladirmir told his son.

What about the wedding? Raven asked in annoyance.

What about it? Vladirmir asked looking at Raven. Who he noted was on her fourth glass of wine. He was surprised she could speak clearly.

Theres a lot to be done. We still need to have an engagement portrait done of them. So, that we can announce their engagement. Katie needs to be outfitted with a new wardrobe. Theres a lot to be done, and not much time. Raven told him.

Have a photographer set up a shoot for tomorrow evening. They can do the photo session than. Vladirmir told her. As for the wardrobe, will fly to New York when we get back and see to that.

Katie doesnt have a gown to wear for the portrait. Raven told him shaking her head.

Ill see to that. Set the photo session up for tomorrow. Vladirmir said rising from the table. Come along now Katie and Ill tell you about the Daratrazanoff family.

Sergei glared at his Dads back before tossing his napkin onto his plate. He was so angry he wanted to strangle his father. He glanced at Dmitry, which was a mistake since his son was clearly amused. Youre not going on any camping trips and thats final. Sergei told his son angrily.

Tell that to Grandpa, he seems to think other wise. Dmitry replied with a smile. He was looking forward to the trip. Mainly, because it would give him some time alone with Katie. Sharing a tent with her would be lots of fun.

I dont care what he has to say about it! Youre not going! Sergei told him a muscle flexing in his cheek.

Hes Daratrazanoffs CEO I have to obey him. Dmitry said still smiling. He got up from the table. And I wont let Katie go without me. Dmitry told his Dad firmly before leaving the room.

I just love warm family dinners. Raven said shaking her head as she got up from her chair.

Ill talk to Dad. Theres not going to be any trip. Sergei told her.

Ha! Raven said with a laugh. Hell do whatever he damn well wants, and we both know it.

Im going upstairs Ive had about enough family time for one night. Dima muttered getting up to leave.

Poor Dima. Raven said after her son was gone. It wasnt fair that he had to suffer so much.

Will get through this. Sergei told her firmly. Though he wasnt so sure anymore if that was true. His family seemed to be coming apart at the seams. And his father as usual was only making things worse.

Seated in the parlor Katie listened to Vladirmir as he told her all about his family. The Daratrazanoff family traced their roots back to Russia. Where, their Ancestor had been the son of a Russian Duke. The Duke had married an English Lords daughter and had three sons. The youngest son being a wanderer had left Russia to travel to America. And was one of the first settlers to settle in the new world. He had married and had four children, two boys and two girls. The younger son like his father was a wanderer and he left home to explore the New World. He wandered the New World and was one of the first settlers to settle in Missouri. He married and had three boys. One of which had put together a heard of cattle. He hired good men to drive them to Colorado. He purchased the land from the government. And became the first rancher in Colorado. The land he selected was near his crow friends. So he didnt have much trouble with Indians. He had married a beautiful Crow maiden. It was a hard life; they had to travel long distances for supplies. They raised most of their own food, living off the land. He had settled in a beautiful valley hidden in the mountains. He had four children, three boys and a girl. The boys had gone on to build the Daratrazanoff Ranch into empire. They had invested heavily into the railroad, and shipping industries. Their investments had paid off heavily. As the years passed every generation had broadened the power and wealth of the Daratrazanoff family. The ranch though huge, had never been their primary source of income. It was more of a hobby. Dmitrys Great Grandfather had been one of the first oilmen. She learned that the Daratrazanoff family had their hands in just about everything. The company grew with every passing year. Recession hadn't hurt them at all. And now they were the wealthiest family on the planet. Katie enjoyed the stories he shared with her. And was pleased to find out that they were part Indian. In fact all the Daratrazanoff wives had been crow maidens, since the Daratrazanoffs had first settled in Colorado. Vladirmir had been the one to break that mold by marrying a white woman. The Daratrazanoffs were related by marriage to a Duke in England. Vladirmirs daughter Megan had married a Duke. It was all very interesting and quite overwhelming.

And that is everything you need to know about are family for now. Vladirmir said finishing off his tale. He glanced at his watch. He had been talking for several hours. Sergei, Raven, and Dmitry had come into the room during his long tale.

Its getting late, you need to rest. Dmitry told her taking her arm. He could see how weary she was.

That reminds me; I had Katies things moved to Lisas suite of rooms. Vladirmir told Dmitry.

What? Why? Sergei asked in annoyance. Well aware that Lisas rooms could be accessed by a secret passageway.

Shell be more comfortable. Vladirmir answered his son with a shrug. Katie, youll join Dmitry and I at the club for lunch tomorrow. Vladirmir ordered. Dmitry can show you where your new room is.

We have work to do tonight. So dont be too long. Sergei warned Dmitry with a frown. Dammit Dad, you had no business moving that girl! Sergei told his father angrily when Dmitry and Katie had gone.

You had her staying in a crappy room. Vladirmir answered looking at his son. Why?

There was nothing wrong with that room. Katie liked it! Sergei defended.

Thats because she hasnt seen the nicer rooms. Why isnt she staying in Dmitrys room? Vladirmir asked him.

It wouldnt be proper theyre not married yet. Sergei replied.

Cut the bullshit! Vladirmir told him angrily. The girls knocked up; clearly Dmitrys already bedded her.

Dad theres more going on here than you realize. Sergei said with a sigh.

You think I dont know that theres something weird going on around here. Vladirmir told him with a laugh that was devoid of amusement. Spill it.

Dima is in love with her. Sergei admitted finally.

What? Vladirmir asked. So that was what all the friction was about.

Dima met Katie on a beach in California. He fell in love with her right off. Sergei told his Dad.

Im confused. How is it that shes carrying Dmitrys child. Vladirmir asked with a frown.

I was concerned about Dima dating someone so young. I sent him to Arizona to take care of some business. While he was gone Dmitry moved in on her. Sergei told him with a grimace.

How does Dmitry know the childs his? Vladirmir asked his son.

Dima didnt sleep with her.

But Dmitry did. Vladirmir said with a smile. Dmitry had always gone after what he wanted. Dima is a fool.

Thats why I put Katie in one of the guest rooms. Dmitry cant access the room from the secret passageway. Sergei told him ignoring his comment about Dima...

You baby that boy too much. No wonder hes such a wimp. Vladirmir told him with a frown.

Dima isnt a wimp, hes a good boy. Sergei defended.

Not from where Im standing. You need to stop coddling the boy, Hes a grown man. Katie stays in Lisas suite, end of story. Vladirmir said firmly.

Dammit Dad!! Sergei said shaking his head angrily.

You spend entirely to much time worrying about Dima when you should be worried about Dmitry. Vladirmir pointed out in disgust. I worry about that boy hes headed for trouble.

What do you mean? What has he done now? Sergei asked already dreading the answer.

Its not what hes done so much as its his attitude that worries me. Vladirmir answered with a frown. He doesnt seem to care about anything. And its going to get him into serious trouble one of these days.

Ill talk to him. Sergei replied.

Dmitry has an excellent head for business and theres no fear in him. He handles mob bosses effortlessly because he doesnt fear them. I reckon he ordered at least twelve hits this year alone.

What? Sergei was shocked.

Those men with him are hired assassins and they dont miss. Hes earning quite a reputation in the under world. Vladirmir continued.

You have him ordering hits? Sergei was outraged.

No, hes making these calls himself. Hes making some powerful enemies and one of these days it will land him in a box. Vladirmir answered.

Dammit! Sergei muttered. Dmitry was completely out of control.

I suggest you back Dmitrys marriage to this girl because in my opinion he needs her far more than Dima. Hopefully shell give your son a reason to live because in my opinion Dmitry doesnt care whether he lives or dies. Vladirmir told his son.

My God! Sergei mumbled feeling guilty.

Your main concern right now should be Dmitry, and this girl hes marrying. Theyve only known each other for a little over two weeks and that worries me. Especially since she was missing for two weeks. Why didnt she tell Dimitry she was hiding on the ranch?

I dont know. She cant remember. She suffered a head injury in the crash. She doesnt remember running from the hospital. Sergei answered.

How did she manage to hide on the ranch for so long without detection?

Nico helped conceal her by making her a ranch employee. Sergei admitted reluctantly.

Why is he in love with her too?

Not according to him. He helped her in an effort to get into her pants. He didnt succeed. And he didnt know about her connection to Dimitry as she refused to reveal the identity of her babys father. Sergei answered. Why did you give them your blessing? Shes a poor farm girl. Sergei asked. You pitched a fit when I married Raven.

Couple reasons. First shes from an upper middle class family. That owns twenty four-two hundred acres of farmland. Your wife came from poor white trash, that didnt have a pot to piss in.

Thats not true; Ravens parents owned their house.

A two-bedroom shack. Vladirmir said with a snort. Katie may not be rich but she comes from a good solid back ground. Farmers and Ranchers built this country. I have a lot of respect for people who make their living off the land. Its a hard life, with few rewards. Second, I like this girl, shes a hard worker. Mucking out stables is dirty work, but she did it with no thought of reward. And she fought to save that steer. Third, Dmitry is determined to marry her, so it wouldnt matter if he had my blessing or not.

True. Sergei admitted.

Thats why Im taking them up to the old homestead. I want to see how they do with each other. Vladirmir told him.

Dad, theres no time for a camping trip. If you want to show Katie the old homestead, fly up in one of the choppers. Theres a hell of a lot of work that needs to be done before this wedding. So camping will have to wait.

Ive made my decision, were going. Well only be gone four days. It will take your wife that long to make the necessary arrangements for New York. Vladirmir said firmly.

I cant spare Dmitry from work. Hes in charge of several big projects.

Dima can handle things why Dmitrys gone. Its about time that boy stepped up to the plate. Vladirmir told Sergei still frowning.

Sergei sighed. Clearly his father wasnt going to listen to him. Hed do whatever he damned well pleased just like he always did. But maybe his Dad was right. Clearly Dmitry was in trouble.

You need to fire Paul Williams hes incompetent! Vladirmir said.

Paul is a good man. Sergei shook his head at his father he had known this was coming.

If hes so good why is the entire security system down? Vladirmir asked.

Fire him, Ill find somebody to replace him.

Im not firing him Dad. Hes worked for the ranch for a lot of years. Sergei replied.

Because of him your family is vulnerable to attack, get rid of him or I will! Vladirmir warned.

He stays! And thats final! Sergei retorted.

I guess youve forgotten I own this ranch. He pointed out.

You turned over the running of the ranch to me years ago its my call now. Sergei reminded him with a frown.

Clearly that was a mistake. Vladirmir grumbled causing Sergei to stiffen.

Dmitry led Katie down several long halls toward the back wing of the house. Katie moved slowly clearly hurting from the days activities. He had noticed her rubbing her neck and arms during his grandfathers long story. He couldnt believe she had mucked out the stables again. She was barely recovered from her recent ordeal. He was going to have a long talk with her. Her behavior worried him on a number of levels. They finally reached her room. Opening the door Dmitry led her inside. Katie stared around in wonder. The room was huge. They had stepped into a large living room, with several cream colored sofas. The room was carpeted in plush pale peach carpeting. There were several end tables and a coffee table, made of a rich cherry wood. Several large stands lined the walls with nick knacks. And there were several large windows, framed with white lace curtains. A huge fireplace took up one wall. A large landscape of the mountains hung over the fireplace.

Theres a small kitchen, back here. Dmitry said opening a swinging door so that she could see the kitchen. Arthur will have it stocked with whatever you want. Come on, Ill show you the bedroom. They climbed a large staircase in the middle of the room to the upper level. The bedroom was huge as well. Katie smiled with pleasure at the sight of a huge four postured bed. That featured a canopy, with white lace curtains. The bed was covered in a lavender comforter. The bathroom is over here. Dmitry showed her. The bathroom was huge. Mirrors lined the walls, where there was a long dressing table made of white marvel. The bathtub was huge! She thought with delight. You could almost swim in it. There was a large glass shower as well. She couldnt wait to try out the tub. A long row of cub boards housed clean linens and soap. And this is the closet. Dmitry said showing her where it was. The walk in closet was huge as well. Her clothes had already been moved into the room she noted. You can change, while I get a fire going. Dmitry told her, going out into the bedroom. There was a fireplace at the end of the bed, along with several large chairs, and a table. Katie picked up the nightgown and robe that servants had laid out for her. Going into the bathroom she quickly changed into them. She didnt bother to belt the robe but left it hanging loose. The satin nightgown was a pale blue with matching robe. She didnt need slippers as the bedroom was carpeted with cream colored carpeting. Going out into the bedroom Katie walked toward a dressing table she had spotted earlier. A gold brush and large gold jewelry box were sitting on the table. Katie picked up the brush and started brushing her long hair out.

Dmitry came over to take the brush from her hand, urging her to sit down at the table. She gave a sigh of pleasure when he started brushing her hair. He was very gentle, as he moved the brush through her tangled hair. When he was finished he set the brush aside and picked her up in his arms. Servants had already turned down the covers on the bed. He set her down on the bed, pulling the covers over her. He sat on the edge of the bed as Katie settled back against the covers. She was disappointed, when he didnt join her in the bed. She knew it was because of his father, but it didnt ease her disappointment any.

We need to talk about what happened today. Dmitry told her gazing down at her. Are you trying to lose the baby? He finally asked with dread.

No. Katie said with surprise.

Than help me to understand. Why were you mucking out stables?

I told you the ranch foreman Will ordered me to clean them. He still thinks I still work for the ranch. Katie answered. Why would he think she was trying to lose their baby?

Why didnt you tell him you were a guest? Dmitry asked patiently. What the hell was Will thinking?

I dont know, its not that big of a deal. She told him. I didnt mind cleaning out the stables.

It is a big deal, youre pregnant!

I know. Katie said with a sigh. I was bored, and it gave me something to do. Im not used to sitting around. Katie told him truthfully.

I see. He said quietly. Bored or not you need to be more careful. I dont want any repeats of today. Ill talk to the Will tomorrow.

Does this mean I cant go down there anymore? Katie asked.

No, I dont have a problem with you visiting the stable and barns. I just dont want you working in them. He told her lifting her chin so that she was gazing into her eyes.

Can I still go on the camping trip?

Yes. He told her with a smile. He leaned down to kiss her, brushing her lips lightly. Now get some rest.

Im not tired. She said wanting to keep him there. Cant you stay for a while?

With a sigh Dmitry got up from the bed. He removed his shoes, coat, and tie. Getting into the bed he pulled Katie into his arms, his mouth covering hers. He moved his hand over her satin clad body. Cupping her hardened nipples through her gown, Katie whimpered as his lips moved over her neck. He pushed the straps of her nightgown down over her arms, until her breasts were bared to his hungry mouth. Katie groaned moving her fingers into his hair to hold him in place. Dmitry moved his hand under the hem of her gown, and up over her soft thighs. He smiled in surprise when he discovered she wasnt wearing any panties. She willingly parted her legs as his fingers moved over the soft mound of hair. His fingers easily slipped into her wet vagina. She moaned thrashing about on the bed as he fingered her. His mouth drifted do
