It's National Video Game Day, so what better way to celebrate than with our favorite game here at Champions.co, EA Sports UFC 2. The game allows you to control all of the best fighters from the UFC's roster to make the dream match-ups that you always wanted to see. With the game being nearly six months old, there have been plenty of clips circulating the web of some of the best moments and finishes the game has to offer. Here is a smattering of what we've gathered from across the web.
Clueless Gamer: Conor McGregor vs. Conan O'Brien

As part of his regular "Clueless Gamer" segment, Conan O'Brien welcomed UFC Featherweight champion, Conor McGregor to test out the game, and it went as well as you'd expect a game between these two men to go. O'Brien's created character was no match for McGregor's in-game striking and was easily finished by vicious ground and pound. This is easily one of the best "Clueless Gamer" bits that O'Brien has ever done.
EA Sports Simulation: Stipe Miocic vs. Alistair Overeem

The UFC has gotten in the habit of using the game to predict the outcome of some of its biggest fights of the year, and UFC 203 was no exception. The event was headlined by the UFC Heavyweight championship fight between Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem. Though the simulation got the winner right, it had Overeem lasting until the second round before being finished. It did, however, have an even more impressive knockout than what really happened, and is definitely worth the watch.
Dream Fight Finishes: Rory MacDonald vs. Luke Rockhold

The matchmaking ability in this game can only be rivaled by Joe Silva and Sean Shelby. In this clip, we're treated to a fight that I would love to see, but sadly, will probably never get have the opportunity to in real life: Rory MacDonald fighting Luke Rockhold. This fight between a promising welterweight and former middleweight champion would be great, but MacDonald has left the UFC and signed with Bellator. Maybe one day down the line, these two can meet in the Octagon.
Fantastic Head Kicks: Conor McGregor vs. Everyone

One of the most satisfying ways to finish a fight in UFC 2 and in real life, for that matter is with a head kick. This video highlights some of the best ways to send people to the canvas with kicks. McGregor is heavily featured in this video, securing the top three spots. But UFC Bantamweight champion, Dominick Cruz and UFC Featherweight champion, Demetrious Johnson also make an appearance with each knocking out the other once.
WWE Meets MMA: Robbie Lawler vs. Luke Rockhold

On the gaming channel UpUpDownDown, the gang regularly hosts gaming tournaments in a battle of supremacy. When the group played UFC 2, WWE tag team duo the Uso Brothers met in the Grand Finals. The two went head to head in a battle between two former champions, Robbie Lawler and Luke Rockhold. The pair then took to the bantamweight division where Cruz fought TJ Dillashaw. Regardless of the quality of fighting, these are some funny dudes.
Fantasy v Reality: CM Punk vs. Mickey Gall

This is where we really break from reality and realize it is just a game. In a simulation of this past weekend's fight between CM Punk and Mickey Gall, no one was giving CM Punk much of a chance. However, according to UFC 2, these fighters were on equal ground. Though the fight went to the ground early, as it did on Saturday, CM Punk was actually able to reverse Gall and take his back. He quickly works through his transitions, gets in Gall's guard and starts pummeling him for a KO win. Though there was really no chance of CM Punk outworking a brown belt in BJJ on the ground, it's nice to know that you can make these fun match ups in UFC 2. Who knows, CM Punk may return one day to the Octagon and be a beast. A guy can dream right?
