Since Maria Sharapova isn't allowed to throw down at the U.S. Open (or any professional tournament) for a while, the tennis star has been forced to take up a new sport to deal with her pent up aggression.

The 29-year-old, who is currently serving a two-year suspension handed out by the International Tennis Federation, is the latest famous face to enter the world of fighting. Sharapova is now training in boxing for "anger management" purposes, well, at least according to her recent Instagram posts.

Sunday plans...

While Sharapova is still pretty green when it comes to throwing hands, it looks like she's getting the hang of things pretty quickly.

What's surprising, though, is the lack of her famous grunt in this clip from one of her training sessions (but she does earn some kudos for having "Eye of the Tiger" on in the background).

Anger management on a Sunday afternoon

Sharapova will have a lot of time to work on her skills in the ring thanks to the recent suspension, which she earned after testing positive for a banned substance called meldonium. Although there is some dispute over whether the substance actually enhances an athlete's performance, it was added to the banned list by World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) at the beginning of 2016.

So, instead of tennis, it looks like Sharapova will be spending her free moments hitting pads when she's not in class at Harvard Business School.

Getting out for an afternoon workout was not easy today until these girls brought their energy and that was all I needed!!
