Though Microsoft's console is lagging behind Sony's PlayStation 4 in terms of sales, that in no way means that the Xbox One is inferior in terms of content. There are some spectacular adventures awaiting you on this beast of a console and we're here to collate them all into one comprehensive list.

Here's our picks for the best Xbox One games available right now.

The Best Xbox One Games Out There

These are in no particular order...

INSIDE

A visionary masterpiece, INSIDE is a haunting and exceedingly intelligent game that challenges players in ways only video games can. Without a word spoken, Playdead have managed to convey a sense of unending dread that's bound to perturb anyone who takes hold of the controller. Fraught with mystery, horror and endlessly clever puzzles, INSIDE is essential gaming for anyone with an Xbox One.

The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt

Arguably one of the greatest RPGs in the history of the medium, CD Projekt RED's award-winning conclusion to The Witcher trilogy is a breathtaking game of endless scope. With a rewarding combat system, an intriguing narrative, a forever changing open world and some of the best graphics on consoles, The Witcher 3 is bound to make you happy you play games.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection

All of the best Halo games looking better than ever in one convenient place? Eh, yes please! This collection had some serious issues at launch that really hampered its reception, but now that 343 Industries have servers running perfectly, this collection of games is a spectacular way to relive past glories. It's actually worth it just for Halo 2 alone.

Rise of the Tomb Raider

Lara Croft has given Nathan Drake a run for his money on numerous occasions, but Rise of the Tomb Raider is proof that mother of adventure games still reigns supreme. With massive maps, an involving narrative and some of the best stealth gameplay around, this is one that makes the Xbox One worth every penny.

Rocket League

The game that took the world by storm took its sweet ass time making its way onto Microsoft's console, but now that's here we forgive the delay. Undoubtedly one of the most addictive games in the history of...games, Rocket League is an indie game with all the weight of AAA blockbuster.

Ori and the Blind Forest

Once you regain control over your tear ducts following Ori's emotional opening, a fantastic platformer awaits. Probably the most beautiful game on the Xbox One, this little adventure is one that'll inspire any of your non-gaming friends to join us aboard the console express.

Fallout 4

After years of waiting, Bethesda finally returned with a brand new RPG. Fallout 4 may not have been the ideal adventure for every fan of the series, but I struggle to think of another title that can compete with it in terms of general glitchy hilarity and gun blazing action. Nuclear fallout has never been this much fun. Oh and mods work on Xbox One... just saying.

Sunset Overdrive

The creators of Spyro the Dragon and Ratchet and Clank certainly know a few things about video games. They've had a long successful relationship with Sony that's gifted us some of the industry's bests, but their one little romp with Microsoft in the proverbial development bed gave birth to a stupidly enjoyable adventure in the form of Sunset Overdrive. Glide all over an enormous, colorful city and take joy in the destruction of energy-drink-filled citizens as you quip your way to glory.

Forza Horizon 2

The Xbox's greatest sports game by a mile has to be the open world delights of Forza Horizon 2. This is arcade racing in a stunning world that is so enjoyable and addictive that topping it seems impossible.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Though MGSV sports a convoluted and ultimately unsatisfying narrative (thanks to all that Kojima, Konami nonsense) it probably features the greatest example of gameplay in the history of the medium. Controlling Snake and commanding his army of recruits was some of the most satisfying gaming of 2015, and it's likely to be the same for years to come.

SUPERHOT

This game makes me so happy. It's probably the most innovative shooter in years and the degree of replay-ability borders on the ridiculous. Play it, play it again, and revel in the fact that the Xbox One is the only console that permits it.
