Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio was born on November 11, 1974 in Los Angeles, California as the only child of Irmelin and George, a legal secretary and a comic book artist. From a young age, DiCaprio always bore a fascination towards the creative arts, saying later:

"I loved imitating people... I loved joking around with my parents and creating different characters. I liked doing my own little homemade skits."

However, Leo struggled to find an agent until the early '90s, where he scored guest appearances on various television shows, before landing his big break on family comedy Growing Pains. The same year, he made his film debut in Critters 3.

The next few years saw a young Leonardo DiCaprio delve into a number of hard-hitting roles, often playing troubled teenagers in movies such as What's Eating Gilbert Grape, This Boy's Life and The Basketball Diaries. However, it was his stint as a love sick Romeo in Romeo + Juliet and as the floppy-haired babe Jack Dawson in Titanic opposite Kate Winslet that catapulted him to super stardom.

Fast forward two decades and Leonardo DiCaprio movies continue to attract millions of fanatics all over the world. What's it about? There's been quite a lot of hype surrounding Leonardo DiCaprio's new movie and casting as murderer H.H. Holmes. The monster, who is largely considered to be America's first serial killer, haunted Chicago in the 19th century and killed between 27 and 200 people at his "Murder Castle" during the Chicago World Fair in 1893.

This will be Leo's sixth collaboration with legendary director Martin Scorsese.

Blood On Snow

Catch Me If You Can (2002)
