The former champions Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan are finally looking to step inside the ring against each other. Both fighters have admitted that their camps are deep into the negotiations and would update soon whatever the outcome. If this fight happens it could be one of the biggest fight of 2017 as both are huge stars have huge following in the boxing world.
Both Khan and Pac Man have been linked before in 2015, but for some reason the fight didnt happen so it is hoped both camps will learn from their past experiences and offer some good news for their fans.
The former P4P No.1 fighter in the world, Pacquaio currently holds the WBO welterweight belt and it is likely that this belt will be on the line when they meet.
Few days ago, Pacquiao conducted a poll asking his twitter followers to select his next candidate and the results came out heavily in favor of Amir Khan. He beat the likes of Kell Brook, Terence Crawford and Jeff Horn with quite a big margin.
So it was expected that the greatest of all time Filipino fighter would honor his words and make the fight happen.
King Khan was the 1st person to break the news via tweet:
"Currently negotiating with Manny #teampacquiao. Coming soon. Watch this space!"
Soon afterwards the six-weight world title holder confirmed the news with his own tweet that read:
"My team and I are in negotiations with Amir Khan for our next fight. Further announcement coming soon."
Pac-Man, retired from boxing last year immediately after his win over Timothy Bradley in order to concentrate on his political ambitions. However, his retirement didnt long as he returned to the ring seven month later against Jessie Vargas, where he won the WBO welterweight title and retained his lineal welterweight title
Khan on the other hand, has fought just once since his win over Chris Algieri two years ago, then the 30-year-old moved up two weight classes to face Canelo lvarez in order to challenge for the for the WBC, The Ring, and lineal middleweight titles. However, King was left unconscious on the mat in the 6th round after deadly blow by Canelo. Since then Khan has been involved in all sorts of things other than boxing such as surgery, family feuds, and more recently a leaked x-rated sex tape.
If this fight happens, it will quite possibly will be the highlight of Khans career, and if manages to beat Pacquiao against all odds, he will be on top of the world for sure!
