I already hear keyboards racing going wild because we already have David Mazouz playing young Master Wayne on Gotham. I'm sure the CW and Fox could work something out so we can have the legendary Dark Knight grace our televisions screens with our fellow CW superheros.
I've seen men of steel die and dark knights fall. - Rip Hunter
There have been dozens of hints towards Batman on Arrow , Flash and just recently Supergirl but nothing more blatantly hinting toward Batman then Rip Hunters most famous quote on Legends Of Tomorrow. The fact that we were able to see Tyler Hoechlin play Superman on Supergirl we are now on step closer from getting Batman on TV , One who isn't fifteen years old.
Without further ado here are five actors who I think could play a great Batman on the CW.
Jon Hamm
Lets get the obvious choice out of the way- Jon Hamm came out of the womb ready to play to Batman. Don Draper is basically Bruce Wayne but that basically means Jon Hamm is Bruce Wayne which is also true. Hamm has a reasonable reason why he's never suited up in a superhero film - He told Radiotimes that
The deals that they make you do are so draconian. And, of course, you are signed on for not only the movie that you are signed on for but at least two more that you havent read and you have no idea what they are going to be and all the crossover ones you are going to have to do.
For me to sign on now to do a superhero movie would mean I would be working until I am fifty as that particular superhero. Its a lot of work at one thing which is not necessarily the reason I got into the business which is to do many things. If you want to spend all day pressing the same key that seems an odd choice.
I totally agree with Jon Hamm's reasoning but the loop hole here is he never mentioned a TV Superhero. Jon Hamm doesn't have to wear the Batman drapes ( see what I did there ) everyday for the next five years , He could make special-guest appearances and maybe steal our hearts enough to make us want to have a spin-off. Jefferey Dean Morgan seems to enjoy to play a comic-book character on Walking Dead and maybe that could be used as a negotiation piece for Hamm to want to play Batman full-time.
I campaigned for Jon Hamm to play Batman when Christian Bale exited the role and I will happily campaign for him to join Grant Gustin and his amazing friends.
Mark-Paul Gosselaar
Mark Paul Gosselaar is known most for playing the legendary Zack Morris on Saved By The Bell. He's stared in NYPD: Blue , Franklin & Bash and right now he stars as a baseball player in Pitch on FOX. Gosselaar has shown to have cocky-charisma in dozens of his roles which proves he would nail the role of Bruce Wayne. He has the look pretty much down ( Have you seen his chin ? ). He could totally play the dark menacing Caped Crusader because on Pitch he plays a beard-rocking vet on a majority young baseball team....
Ok maybe he needs to prove himself on the scary Batman personal but his chin though.
Brett Dalton
Brett Dalton was so underused on Agents Of Shield and in the end turned into something that looked like Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean knock-off who died slowly after. He could've stayed around be the attractive-anti hero but turned into a ugly-looking inhuman. Dalton now has free time and I'm pretty sure he would relish the opportunity of playing Bruce Wayne/ Batman on TV if given a chance. Dalton has the looks and the amazing chin down. I think he could easily knock out the role of Batman and possibly cause of a out-cry of fans wanting a Dalton led Batman- spin off.
Jensen Ackles
Jensen Ackles is known for his role as Dean Winchester on Supernatural. He wants a Supernatural/ Arrow cross-over but I think that's pretty unlikely especially because it probably be the worst idea ever.
I think the best way of going about a crossover involving Jensen Ackles is having him play Bruce Wayne/ Batman for a few episodes and you could throw in Jared Padalecki by having him Alfred, Robin or Gordon. Jensen has experience with voicing Batman characters when he voiced Jason Todd in the Under the Hood movie. Jensen has the voice pretty much down since his voice is deep to be both Batman and Bruce Wayne. He of course has the looks but sadly isn't over-qualified as my other candidates in the chin department.
Tom Welling
Remember the time Clark Kent was under the cowl and everyone thought it he Batman but he was really Clark Kent disguised as Batman - If you answer was no it has happened a lot in the lore. Many Smallville fans were going crazy when they found out their son of krypton wasn't casted as the Man Of Steel on Supergirl ( I was disappointed ) but it turned out to be fine because Tyler Hoechlin basically was a live-action version of Tim Daly's voice of Superman that I grew up listening to while watching the cartoons. Tom Welling could literally become the first person to play both Batman and Superman on TV ( Ben Affleck did it before ). Welling has the look down since he Clark Kent has been mistaken has Bruce Wayne numerous times in the comic books so why can't we turn the tables and do it on TV. I think it would be insane plus I don't think Welling is doing anything at the moment. He might be wishing jealous of Supernatural for outliving Smallville.
