Does Deathstroke News Kill Earlier Reports?

The news of Deathstroke is undoubtedly exciting especially with the idea of him battling it out against the Dark Knight. As exciting as it is this news somewhat contradicts early reports of Afflecks Batman being a villain filled movie, according to the slashfilm.com when talking about The Batman. Its going to be crammed with Bat villains, which means that just about every major bad guy youve ever wanted to see in a movie will be in this movie. This report led some to believe it could possibly feature Batman somehow trapped in Arkham Asylum with his so many of his rogues. The rumors of Slade Wilson and Bruce Wayne battling may have dispelled the Batman's rogue movie.

Or is Deathstroke Part of the Rogues? (Spoiler)

Could this all just be part of Geoffs and Bens plan for this whose who of Batman villains? Possibly, before Deathstroke was introduced there were rumors that Suicide Squad member Deadshot may also be part of the Batman solo film. We already saw how Deadshot had Batman to thank for his incarceration thanks to an anonymous tip after a night out with his daughter #shame.

Having Deathstroke inserted into Batmans world does bring clarity to one rumor. Batman does in fact have a lengthy list of bad guys. According to CinemaBlend, Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns' new Batman reboot is going to jump-start the Caped Crusader's franchise with a full compliment of villains already established. With the mention of Deadshot possibly being part of the solo movie, Joker being fully established, and now Deathstroke being mentioned maybe, just maybe this all-star movie is exactly where Ben and Geoff are headed.

Deathstroke Means Further Expansion of the DCEU

How? Deathstroke has been used as the go to bad guy for DC. Think about it, Deathstroke has been featured on Teen Titans as Slade, DC Animated film Son of Batman, Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, videos games Arkham Origins and Injustice, and a couple of TV shows. Some years ago he was featured on Smallville as General Slade Wilson the eye-patch wearing US General who brought forth the registration act, definitely no the best depiction of him. Currently Manu Bennett is portraying Deathstroke on CWs Arrow #bringmanuback. Manu Bennetts version of the mercenary is the standard good luck surpassing that.

Deathstroke is one of the most important villains/anti villains DC has to offer. Not many DC villains have battled it out against Nightwing, Superman, Batman, Lobo, Green Arrow, and the Titans plus his story alone makes for a fantastic solo movie hint hint. Surely Deathstroke isnt going be some on and done throwaway villain, hes too important to DC for that.

Could Deathstroke Be a Stripping Vampire?

Well thats the million-dollar question isnt it? Remember back before Suicide Squad was just in the casting phase and rumors surrounded who would be part of the team? Sucks for you if you dont, but Im here to invade your subconscious and help you remember. Here we go, Movieweb.com was one site that reported Scott Eastwood would in fact play Slade Wilson As for Scott Eastwood, an insider reportedly saw the name featured on the actor's costume, which reads "S. Wilson," meaning he is actually playing Slade Wilson, a.k.a. Deathstroke. Of course we now know that he was Lieutenant GQ Edwards in Suicide Squad.

While they were obviously totally wrong there was another name that surfaced in that reportJoe Manganiello. Thanks to Forbes we got a ton of interesting and cryptic coincidences that really help fuel the rumor. The True Blood and Magic Mike star has been rumored to tested for a part in The Batman, and he recently visited the UK where Justice League is currently filming. Just to pour more gasoline on the fire, Geoff and Ben have made small changes to the Justice League to directly set up for The Batman. I believe in coincidences, but cmon this is a bit much. Joe M. may not have the resume of some of the names most of us want to play Deathstroke, but if youve read any of my articles you know Im an optimist and a fan of his so Im all in. Plus in Batfleck I trust.
