Everyone who has watched Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens has seen the mysterious Supreme Leader Snoke. But who is he? Good evidence suggests he is Darth Plagueis the Wise. Without him there would be no Skywalker family and no Star Wars. He lived a life shrouded in darkness and caused all the problems that plagued the galaxy. Few in the galaxy had ever reached his level of power. Evil has a name. Darth Plagueis was a dark lord of the Sith and the master of Darth Sidious. He later became the master of Kylo Ren. Not only this, but he is also the father of Darth Vader.
A side by side comparison of the two shows a broken pair of similar appearance. They have severe burns all over their bodies. They also took an awful blow to the left side of their faces. The most obvious wounds are where someone took a light saber and cracked them on top of the head. Not only this, but their skin is pale because they refrained from the light.
Darth Plagueis poses a menacing figure. He speaks to his minions where he appears in holograms about thirty feet tall. He is a malignant narcissist who believes the entire galaxy should rest beneath his thumb. His personality stems from his issues of entitlement. He came from a long line of Sith lords. People know him for his brilliant and logical mind. He is physically frail, but he is powerful mentally and also strong in the Dark Side of the Force. He talks down to generals and gives them orders. He belittles the emperor and his many accomplishments. He also possesses the authority to chastise Darth Vader and his actions. Also Darth Plagueis, and he alone, managed to manipulate his great grandson Ben Solo. He turned him to the Dark Side to fulfill Darth Vader’s perverted mission.
The greatest abilities of Darth Plagueis were to create life and to cheat death. He came up with the Grand Plan to take over the galaxy and destroy his sworn enemy the Jedi. He waited over a hundred years to see his plan unfold. He created minions to carry out his evil bidding. He also took a young apprentice named Palpatine from the planet Naboo. He later renamed him Darth Sidious. His apprentice was also a narcissist, and the two orbited each other as a binary system while they sought to increase their power. Darth Sidious craved his master’s knowledge and wisdom, and Darth Plagueis wanted to feed off his apprentice’s powers of charm and brute strength.
The Sith are the cancer of the galaxy, and by their very existence, they bring the Force out of balance. The dark lord wanted to make his apprentice a Senator, then Supreme Chancellor, and ultimately emperor. Darth Plagueis sought to control everything from behind the scenes and give his apprentice orders. He lurked in the shadows as a phantom menace, and he sought to rule the galaxy as the eternal Sith lord. The evil of Darth Sidious would go unnoticed, since he was going to serve in the government. To place his apprentice into power, Darth Plagueis figured the best way to accomplish this was to create a crisis. He decided to build a large Clone Army and tear the galaxy apart by civil war. He shared his knowledge of the creation of life with the citizens of Kamino, who managed to perfect a genetic template for this army. As the disasters increased during the terrible war, Palpatine and his master would achieve more power than ever before. Basically the power of the government would fall into their hands.
Darth Sidious said, “The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.”
Darth Plagueis was obsessed with obscure knowledge and all things other worldly and arcane. On Coruscant he and his apprentice began many experiments with the Dark Side of the Force to influence living things. Decades of Dark Side use took a toll. During this time Darth Sidious learned how to use the mask ability to hide his true corrupted features. Darth Plagueis feared that his apprentice might one day become too powerful. Out of arrogance he decided to create a being powerful in the Force unlike any other. He wanted someone who could destroy the Jedi and also his apprentice if he ever needed.
Darth Sidious said, "Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith so powerful and so wise, he could use the Force to influence the midi-chlorians to create life. He had such a knowledge of the Dark Side, he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying."
This endeavor to create the ultimate Sith weapon was deemed a failure. However the Force fought back in retaliation to Darth Plagueis’ many experiments. When Darth Plagueis sent his seed across the galaxy, the midi-chlorians sensed the Sith’s malevolent intention. They changed paths and instead chose to impregnate Shmi Skywalker, a slave woman on Tatooine. She was a human of humble and caring nature, and the midi-chlorians chose her because of this. This brought into existence the Chosen One mentioned in the ancient Jedi prophecy, who would bring balance to the Force.
The child was named Anakin, and he grew up fatherless as a slave in a hostile environment. His owner was a junk dealer named Watto. Ten years later, the child was discovered by Jedi knights Qui-gon Jinn and Obi-wan Kenobi. Qui-gon was a rogue Jedi who often went against the council. He was a believer in the Living Force. Unlike the other Jedi, he understood the ways of love and compassion. He noticed the remarkable and unusual child. Anakin was a kind and caring child and was gifted with great abilities in the Force. He wanted to use his abilities to help others. Qui-gon even noticed that the boy’s midi-chlorian count even surpassed that of master Yoda. One night Qui-gon asked Shmi about the boy’s father.
Shmi said, “There was no father. I carried him; I gave birth; I raised him; I can’t explain what happened.”
After Anakin won the prize money from winning the pod race, Qui-gon managed to secure the boy’s freedom from his slave master. Qui-gon wanted to take him to Coruscant to train him as a Jedi. However Watto would not grant Shmi’s freedom. Shmi told her son to go with the Jedi and not look back. With the repaired ship, the Jedi left the Outer Rim and returned to Coruscant. There Anakin interviewed with Yoda and the Jedi council. They also saw the remarkable abilities of this young boy. He had great powers that impressed even them. However the Jedi were got up with their ritual and old ways of tradition, and they forbid attachments. They said the boy was not to be trained, for they said he was “too old”. Qui-gon though quietly vowed to train the boy, with or without the council’s blessing.
When Anakin arrived on Coruscant, Darth Plagueis and his apprentice noticed the boy from a distance. Darth Plagueis recognized him as a creation of one of his experiments. He realized the boy was unstable, since he was conceived from both the Dark Side and the Light. He wanted to one day seduce him to the Dark Side and take him under his wing as his apprentice. He wanted him to destroy the Jedi and also Darth Sidious, if he got too powerful. Darth Plagueis abandoned the Rule of Two long ago, for he viewed it as a flawed system. For this reason he allowed Darth Sidious to take Darth Maul as an apprentice, but with the understanding that he be trained only as an assassin.
However Darth Sidious decided to accelerate his plans. He served under Darth Plagueis because he craved his knowledge and wisdom. However Darth Sidious figured he learned everything he could from his master. As a result he outlived his usefulness. The night before he was elected Supreme Chancellor, Darth Sidious celebrated with his master their impending victory. During the party Darth Plagueis got drunk with wine and fell asleep. Then Darth Sidious decided to make his move. He went all out and electrocuted his master with Sith lightning. However Darth Plagueis decided to fight back and the two broke out in a lightsaber duel. During the duel Darth Sidious used the Force to slam his master’s face against a wall. Then he took his lightsaber and cracked his master on top of the head. As his master laid there unconscious, he poked him many times through the torso.
Darth Sidious said, "To cheat death is something only one has achieved, but if we work together, I know we can discover the secret."
And that was the end of Darth Plagueis, OR WAS IT? As the story goes, the Sith lord did not die at the hand of Darth Sidious, but rather DECEIVED his apprentice into thinking he was dead. He may have stopped his pulse and breathing for a time, but used the Dark Side of the Force to keep himself alive. Darth Plagueis achieved great power, and his only fear was losing it. So he disappeared into the Unknown Regions and spent the next few years trying to recover. While waiting he watched the Senate proceedings through the eyes of simple minded fools and did some political manipulation of his own. He also knew that Darth Sidious would one day try to take Anakin as an apprentice. Darth Plagueis decided to wait in the shadows until Anakin finished his job and destroyed Darth Sidious.
Soon after the betrayal of Darth Sidious the young Anakin saved Naboo, which Darth Sidious held hostage by the greedy Trade Federation led by Nute Gunray. However Qui-gon was killed during the conflict during a duel with Darth Maul. However Darth Maul was defeated when he fell down the shaft after Obi-wan managed to cut him in half. Before Qui-gon died, he made Obi-wan promise to train Anakin as a Jedi. The council was reluctant to grant permission, but they agreed only because a Jedi always keeps his promise.
During his teenage years, Anakin grew strong in the Force. He also became arrogant and cocky. He also began to show signs of Borderline Personality Disorder, which grew out of his issues of abandonment. Emotionally he was a third degree burn victim. Rather than being pure evil, he had a light side and a dark side. The light side drew others towards him, and then the dark side reared its ugly head and destroyed them. The Jedi council did nothing to rescue Shmi from the bonds of slavery. In fact Obi-wan and the other Jedi wanted to even forget that he had a mother. At the very least they should have had her send him a letter, to let him know she was okay. After six years, a poor moisture farmer on Tatooine named Cliegg Lars did what the Jedi should have done all along. He put some money down and freed her. He also went so far as to marry her, and she went to live on his homestead.
When Anakin was twenty years old, Darth Sidious conspired to have Padme Amidala assassinated. She served as Senator of Naboo and opposed the formation of a Grand Army of the Republic. Darth Sidious sent out his new apprentice Count Dooku, whom he renamed Darth Tyranus. Count Dooku contracted a bounty hunter named Jango Fett, who in turn hired another bounty hunter. Jango Fett instructed this bounty hunter to kill Padme through some of the most brutal means. Since the Jedi recognized she was in danger, they sent her away in exile on Naboo until they could sort the situation out. They also gave her Anakin as a bodyguard. Anakin met her as a young boy on Tatooine and formed a strong attachment to her. During this time they fell in love and later decided to marry in secret. Anakin began to have visions of his mother and sensed she was in trouble. Unknown to him at the time, his mother was captured by sand people and tortured her for a full month. They did this as part of a ritual to summon a demon. However the plan worked. Anakin abandoned his duties and went to rescue her. When he found her, she died in his arms. Rather than seeking the truth first, Anakin went ahead and killed all the sand people in anger. This began his first descent into the Dark Side, and he got addicted to its power. When Padme heard Anakin tell her everything, she approved of his actions since she viewed these mindless creatures as animals. Meanwhile Obi-wan discovered the clone factories on Kamino, and soon the Clone Wars began with the Battle of Geonosis.
A brutal civil war erupted which tore the galaxy apart. This war went on for three years. Meanwhile Darth Sidious became the leader of both sides and killed off certain leaders as needed to keep the war going. During the absence of Padme Amidala, Jar Jar Binks decided to act in her stead. To handle the threat of the separatists, Jar Jar Binks proposed to give Darth Sidious emergency powers. The measure passed, and Darth Sidious became in essence a dictator. Darth Sidious sensed the confusion and distress in the troubled Anakin and decided to manipulate him further. Anakin desperately wanted a father figure in his life, and the Jedi did a poor job of mentoring him. However Anakin found that father figure in Darth Sidious, who was willing to listen to the problems on his mind.
Darth Sidious decided it to put Anakin to the test and see if he was worthy of becoming a Sith. He figured the Republic was close to discovering his true identity, so he had Count Dooku capture him in order to throw off the scent. Aboard Count Dooku’s ship, Darth Sidious arranged for his apprentice and Anakin to face off in a duel. During the duel, Anakin managed to cut off Count Dooku’s hands. Earlier in the war, Count Dooku cut off Anakin’s arm. Darth Sidious urged Anakin to kill him in revenge. Anakin knew this wasn’t right, but Darth Sidious goaded him anyway. Count Dooku was too arrogant to believe he was betrayed. Before he could say anything his head was already bouncing on the floor. If Anakin kept Count Dooku alive, he would have revealed the identity of his master, and the war would have been over.
Anakin viewed his wife Padme as a possession or a prize he had won. She became pregnant, and he began to have visions of her death. His fears were not unfounded, since his visions of his mother came true. These visions were planted in his mind by Darth Plagueis. Anakin was willing to stop anyone and anything from taking her from him. Darth Sidious sensed Anakin’s distress. During an opera scene about the creation of life, he decided to tell Anakin a fanciful story about his former master. It visually depicted the manipulation of cells and cellular material with organelles, midi-chlorians, and chromosomes.

Anakin was seduced by Darth Sidious’ tale, which was a lie mixed with truth. Anakin wanted to know more about the Dark Side and the power to control life and death. Soon Darth Sidious revealed to Anakin he was a Sith lord. Anakin wanted to kill him, but he also craved Darth Sidious’ knowledge and power. So Anakin left and told Jedi Master Windu the news. Mace Windu brought three other Jedi masters with him to take down Darth Sidious. However he seemed to not tell anyone else, including the Senate. After a brawl in the chancellor’s office, Mace Windu had Darth Sidious cornered at the ledge of a broken window.
Mace Windu said, “Enough is enough. I have had it with these nerf herding Sith lords in this nerf herding Senate.”
Darth Sidious began to use Sith lightning against Master Windu. This caused the dark lord’s mask to fall and reveal his true features. This suited Darth Sidious all the more, because now he got to play the victim. He appeared all defenseless and weak. Anakin came barging in during the fight and was forced to make a choice. He had to save Mace Windu or Darth Sidious. He had to choose between the Jedi or the Sith. Anakin wanted Darth Sidious to stand trial, so he could have time to learn the dark lord’s mysterious power. However Mace Windu was right in saying it was too dangerous to let Darth Sidious live. After all, the dark lord controlled the courts and could manipulate himself out of trouble, just as he did for Nute Gunray many times. Without Darth Sidious in the picture, the war would be over. So Mace Windu made a move to kill him. Because Anakin lusted after the dark lord’s power, he cut off the hand of Mace Windu, and then Darth Sidious pushed him out the window. Now Anakin was screwed, and he had remorse for what he did. He could never go back to the Jedi, for the other Jedi would kill him for betraying a master. So Anakin decided to swear his allegiance to the dark lord, and his new master named him Darth Vader.
Darth Sidious took the bait. Now he got the apprentice he truly wanted. He sent his new apprentice on a mission to destroy his enemies for him. He first sent him to the Jedi Temple to kill all the Jedi there, including the younglings. In the Senate, Darth Sidious labeled all the Jedi as traitors for the attempt on his life. He also crowned himself emperor, in the name of better security for the galaxy. Then Darth Sidious executed Order 66. This encrypted message instructed the clone soldiers to kill all the generals. It just so happened that the generals were also the Jedi who fought alongside the troops. One by one the Jedi fell. Yoda and Obi-wan happened to survive the purge. However Yoda felt great pain when he sensed all these defeats through the Force as he lost his friends.
The Jedi received divine retribution. At the time Yoda and the other Jedi forgot who they were, and they stopped behaving as Jedi. They became arrogant, stuck up, and were too busy gazing at their own navels. Because they became so caught up in tradition, they failed to learn the lessons of love and compassion. They knocked the Force out of balance and outlived their usefulness because they were unable to deal with the problems that plagued the galaxy. Because they stopped trusting the Force, they could not find the Sith lord they were looking for, even though he hid under their noses for the entire time. The Force allowed the Sith to return to power to destroy the Jedi. All this happened under Yoda’s leadership. The younger generations of Jedi became increasingly arrogant. Since the Jedi did not have a change of heart, the Force wanted to create a new Jedi Order with a fresh change of faces.
The next place Darth Sidious sent his apprentice was to kill the Separatist leaders hiding at Mustafar. Darth Vader wiped them all out in anger, including Nute Gunray. Darth Sidious saw them all as useful idiots, and he got rid of them after they served their purpose. By whatever means, these leaders received justice long past due. Meanwhile Yoda and Obi-wan returned to the Jedi Temple and saw what happened on the security cams. They learned the sad news that Anakin had joined the Dark Side. The apprentice that Obi-wan knew and loved was now dead. Yoda instructed Obi-wan to kill Darth Vader and Yoda was to confront Darth Sidious.
Obi-wan located Darth Vader on Mustafar by hiding away on Padme’s ship. When Darth Vader saw her, he Force choked her. Then Obi-wan confronted Darth Vader, and the two broke out into a duel. The duel ended when Obi-wan gained the high ground. Darth Vader engaged in suicidal behavior by jumping to attack him anyway. Obi-wan sliced off his limbs with one stroke, and he fell face down upon the rocks. Then he caught on fire by the lava. Obi-wan picked up his lightsaber and walked away with sadness. He left it up to the Force to decide Darth Vader’s fate.
Darth Sidious said, “Your arrogance blinds you, Master Yoda.”
Meanwhile Yoda confronted Darth Sidious in the Senate chamber. The dark lord’s first instinct was to run, because he hated being exposed in the light. The two broke out into a wizard duel and later a lightsaber battle. However Yoda decided to retreat, after being knocked below by a Force blast. Yoda felt too close to the Dark Side, for he couldn’t kill Darth Sidious without giving into anger. Rather than becoming a slave of the Dark Side, he decided to go into exile.
Since Darth Sidious still lived and Darth Vader was now crippled, Darth Plagueis had to wait even longer to return. Padme was rescued by Obi-wan, and he brought her to a hospital at an asteroid base. There they met up with Yoda and Senator Bail Organa. Padme had her heart broken by Anakin. However the medical droids informed them she was pregnant with twins, but she was dying for unexplained reasons. They decided to deliver the babies, and Padme named them Luke and Leia. Padme died soon afterwards. The Jedi decided to separate the twins. Senator Organa decided to adopt Leia and have her live with him at Alderaan. There she lived as royalty and became a princess. Obi-wan decided to take Luke to the Lars family and have him grow up as a farmer on Tatooine. They parted ways until the proper time. The Force spared its two most noble members, Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi, to train Luke. Yoda spent years in exile in the Dagobah swamp and Obi-Wan lived in the Tatooine desert. This was the ultimate lesson in humility, and they both learned that lesson.
Meanwhile Darth Sidious found his apprentice at the fires of Mustafar. He became angry at his apprentice for getting injured, and he almost let him burn into ash. However Darth Sidious decided he did not want to lose his prized apprentice. So he rescued him and brought him back to Coruscant. He fitted him in a dark suit and mask equipped with a respirator. He also transferred the life essence of Padme Amidala into Darth Vader. Darth Sidious learned this technique from his former master. He slowly drained the life out of Padme when she was in distress. Then Darth Sidious told his apprentice he had killed Padme in his anger. Then Darth Vader became filled with anger and rage, and he blamed himself for the rest of his life. He gave everything to save a wife he lost anyway. Also he had nowhere else to turn, since all his friends were dead. Darth Sidious accomplished two things by killing Padme. First of all, he knocked off a political enemy. Second, he made Darth Vader a true Sith by causing him to tap into the power of the Dark Side.
Darth Vader realized he was screwed. His great powers hit a limit, and he was no longer strong enough to defeat the emperor due to his injuries. He stood next to the emperor like a beaten dog, and he stayed with the emperor in the hopes of learning his powers. He vowed to one day exact revenge against both the emperor and Obi-wan. The emperor told a lot of lies. He told Vader that he killed Yoda, that Vader killed Padme and her child, and that he killed his master Plagueis. Darth Vader followed all the emperor’s orders without question, because he knew the emperor would kill him if he didn’t listen. For the next two decades, Darth Vader worked to destroy the remainder of the Jedi knights. The emperor consolidated his power, and he built a fleet of star ships and a powerful superweapon called the Death Star. This terror weapon could destroy an entire planet with a single shot.
During the Clone Wars, the facilities on Kamino were destroyed. Darth Sidious did not know how to create viable clones suitable for an army. Within a few years, he began to recruit human volunteers throughout the galaxy. During the time of the empire, Darth Plagueis sent a signal through the Force to let his former apprentice know he was alive, but he did not give enough information to pinpoint his location. Darth Sidious grew fearful and worried about retribution from his former master. The emperor tried to find him and hunt him down, but these efforts proved futile. The emperor never told Darth Vader or his imperial officers about his true intentions during these searches, because he didn’t want to appear weak. The emperor also dissolved the Senate and used imperial governors to bring the galaxy under his power.
At the age of nineteen, Leia went to retrieve Obi-wan Kenobi on Tatooine and bring him to Alderaan. However her ship was intercepted and captured by Darth Vader, because rebel spies beamed them a copy of the Death Star plans. However she stored the plans in her R2 unit. It went into an escape pod and crashed onto the planet. After being captured by Jawas, the R2 unit ended up in the hands of Luke Skywalker. After the droid tried to escape, Luke went out to retrieve it. There he met up with Obi-wan. Through a turn of events, Luke ended up leaving his home world and got swept up into the Rebel Alliance. Bail Organa created the alliance to fight back at the emperor. Obi-wan hired a pilot named Han Solo and his Wookie friend Chewbacca to take them to Alderaan aboard the Millennium Falcon. During the journey the planet was destroyed by the Death Star, and Senator Organa died in the explosion. When they came out of hyperspace, the ship was captured by the Death Star’s tractor beam. The gang snuck off the ship undetected, and Obi-wan went on a mission to deactivate the tractor beam. Meanwhile they discovered that Princess Leia was kept onboard as a prisoner. Luke convinced Han to go with him to rescue Leia. They rescued her and brought her to the hangar bay. Meanwhile Obi-wan managed to shut down the tractor beam, but came in contact with Darth Vader. He challenged Obi-wan to a light saber duel, and he wanted to repay his former master for what he did to him.
Obi-wan said, “Strike me down, and I will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.”
Darth Vader won the duel, but not because Obi-wan lost. He allowed his former apprentice to strike him down. Obi-wan disappeared and became one with the Force. His major concern was to allow Luke to escape. While Luke and the gang ran back to the Millennium Falcon, Darth Vader was consumed with his victory over Obi-wan. They flew away and went to the secret rebel moon base at Yavin IV. However the empire tracked the ship and discovered the rebels’ location. The Death Star plans inside the R2 unit were analyzed, and a weakness in the space station was discovered. It was an exhaust port inside a trench that led to the main reactor. The Death Star appeared outside Yavin and began to orbit the planet. The rebels launched an attack with their fighter squadrons in attempt to destroy the Death Star. The rebels came under fire from heavy guns, and Darth Vader led an attack with his TIE fighter squadrons. One by one the rebels fell. Then Luke Skywalker made his own trench run after a failed attempt by the squadron leader. Obi-wan encouraged Luke to use the Force. Han Solo saved Luke by blasting Darth Vader and the other imperials off his tail. Luke fired two proton torpedoes into the exhaust port and managed to destroy the entire Death Star. Luke Skywalker saved the day, and the empire received a humiliating defeat. The Rebel Alliance lived to fight another day as they continued to strike blows to the empire.
Darth Vader sensed that the one who destroyed the Death Star was strong with the Force. He realized that this could be none other than his son. He must have survived childbirth when Padme died. This was confirmed by the emperor who sensed the same thing. The emperor realized if the young Skywalker became a Jedi, it could be the emperor’s undoing. However Vader realized if his son could be turned to the Dark Side, he would be a great asset. The emperor agreed to this, and Vader said that his son will either join them or die. Luke Skywalker was a new hope for the rebel alliance. He brought them a great victory and new life at the darkest of moments. Darth Vader and Darth Plagueis saw a new hope as well. They both wanted revenge against Darth Sidious and to resume the place as the master of the galaxy. Luke could be what they needed to knock the scales back into their favor.
Darth Vader began a huge quest to locate Luke Skywalker. He wanted to find the new hidden rebel base, because he knew his son was hiding with them. A probe droid found the base on Hoth, and an imperial attack forced the rebels to flee and scatter. Obi-wan sent Luke to Dagobah to begin his training with Yoda. These two masters prepared for years to train him. Dagobah was a planet filled with life and thus full of the Force. Yoda was much different now than his earlier years. He was patient with Luke and wanted to avoid the same mistakes he made with Vader. Through Luke, Yoda was able a find redemption.
Yoda said, "A Jedi uses the force for knowledge and defense, never for attack".
Luke learned the ways of the Force. He learned quickly, since he was the son of the Chosen One. During his training, Luke saw visions of Han and Leia in pain. Darth Plagueis planted these visions inside Luke’s mind. Luke wanted to go out and save them. Yoda was aware of the works and deceptions of the Dark Side. He tried to persuade Luke to choose his path based on wisdom and discretion instead of urges and rash emotion. He pled with him to continue his training instead of hurrying away to confront threats unknown while unprepared. Obi-Wan weighed in on the discussion and warned Luke that temptation awaited him if he left before he was fully trained.
Luke took the bait. He left anyways despite the warnings and went to confront Darth Vader at the Cloud City on Bespin. Luke was angry at Vader for killing Obi-wan. Luke pulled out his light saber, and the two broke out into a long duel. Luke lost and Darth Vader cut off his hand. There Darth Vader revealed to him he was his father.
Luke said, “That’s not true. That’s impossible.”
However Luke searched his feelings and knew this to be true. Darth Vader pled with Luke to join him in order to destroy the emperor. Vader offered this as the only means of escape. However Luke decided to let go and fall down the air shaft. He was caught by an antenna which kept him from falling into the atmosphere below. Leia sensed his distress and came back to rescue him. She escaped with Han’s friend Lando Calrissian. He was the administrator of Cloud City. They went into hyperspace and managed to rejoin the rebel fleet. There some medical droids managed to equip Luke with a mechanical hand.
Darth Vader had Han Solo frozen in carbonite and gave him to a bounty hunter named Boba Fett. This bounty hunter in turn gave Han Solo to the notorious gangster Jabba the Hutt. He was kept at Jabba’s palace on Tatooine. Luke and his friends hatched a plan to rescue Han. A year later they managed to save Han Solo and kill Jabba the Hutt and his band of thugs. The centuries of Jabba the Hutt’s crime spree came to an end. Then Luke returned to Yoda to complete his training. However Yoda said that he required no more training. Luke had learned his lessons when he faced Vader, but Yoda had preferred that he learned them a different way. Yoda considered him a Jedi not because he was the most intelligent, the most powerful, or even the most skillful. He became a Jedi on account of the fact that he resisted the Dark Side. The Dark Side was like a drug, and by rejecting it would never dominate his destiny.
Luke was the one chance for Yoda and Obi-wan to defeat Darth Vader and the emperor. Yoda confirmed that Darth Vader was Luke’s father. He also told Luke he had to face Darth Vader again. He also informed him there was another Skywalker. Then Yoda passed away in his bed at 900 years of age. He disappeared and became one with the Force. When Luke left the lights went out inside Yoda’s home. Then Obi-wan appeared and said that Yoda would always be with him. He informed Luke that this other Skywalker was his twin sister Leia. He also confirmed that Luke had to face his father. He told Luke to bury his feeling deep down. They gave him good credit, but they could be used to serve the emperor.
Luke departed and joined the rebel fleet massing near Sullust. The Rebel Alliance planned a major assault against the empire at Endor. The empire was building an even larger Death Star around its forest moon. A large shield generator on the forest moon protected the unfinished Death Star. Admiral Ackbar planned the attack using information provided by Bothan spies. Lando Calrissian would lead the fighters and Han Solo agreed to lead a squad to land on the moon and deactivate the shield. Luke and Leia agreed to go with Han. The plan was to take down the shield and then have fighters fly into the Death Star and destroy the main reactor. However the emperor was leading them into a trap. He let the information fall into the hands of the spies. He also designed the new Death Star to seem vulnerable to attack. He oversaw the final stages of its construction. Although incomplete, its systems were operational. The weapon systems were accurate enough to destroy large rebel ships one by one. After the attack, the emperor planned to seal up the entry ways into the main reactor forever. The alliance would suffer huge losses, and the empire would have a virtually indestructible superweapon.
Han Solo and his band of rebels flew to Endor on an old imperial shuttle with a stolen security code. When they arrived, Darth Vader detected Luke’s presence from the command ship. Luke realized he was endangering the mission by being there. After the code cleared, Vader permitted them to land on the moon anyway. Then Darth Vader informed the emperor of Luke’s presence. The emperor told him to go down to the moon and wait for him.
Darth Sidious said, “His compassion for you will be his undoing. He will come to you, and you will bring him before me. Now go…”
After the rebels arrived they were captured by local Ewoks. Nothing lived or breathed on the forest floor without their permission. They practiced witchcraft and turned the bones of their victims into weapons. They planned to roast them alive over a fire and cook them in a stew. However the Ewoks released them and decided to support them. When they saw the golden C-3PO float in the air on his throne, they believed he was a god and followed everything he said. Later Luke told Leia she was his sister and that Darth Vader was her father. She encouraged him to run away and leave this place, but Luke decided against it. Luke surrendered to the imperials on the evening before the attack. Soldiers brought him before Darth Vader. On a balcony they had a father and son conversation. They also looked at Luke’s newly constructed lightsaber. Luke pled for his father to leave this place and come with him.
Darth Vader said, "You don't know the power of the Dark Side. I must obey my master."
Luke urged him to let go of his anger and hate. But Darth Vader said it was too late for him now. The emperor was his master now, and he would show him the true nature of the Force. Luke exclaimed that his father was truly dead. Then Darth Vader took Luke to the Death Star and brought him before the emperor in his throne room. The emperor asked the guards to leave, and he told Luke he looked forward to completing his training. Both Darth Vader and the emperor had set everything up to make Luke angry and turn him to the Dark Side. They both wanted to take him as an apprentice. Darth Vader wanted to destroy the emperor and exact revenge against him. The emperor saw Darth Vader as a disappointment and sought a better replacement. Meanwhile the rebel fleet came out of hyperspace and rushed towards the seemingly unprotected Death Star in attempt to blow it up. Lando Calrissian realized the imperials were jamming their sensors and that the shield around the Death Star was still up. Lando urged all craft to pull up. Then they were encountered by a large fleet of imperial star destroyers. When Admiral Ackbar saw this, he made the most iconic line in the galaxy’s history…
Admiral Ackbar said, “It’s a trap.”
Both sides engaged in a full out battle. The rebel fleet was swarmed by TIE fighters. Rebel pilots began to fall one by one. Luke Skywalker saw all this at a distance from a window. Imperial officers wanted to send in the star destroyers, but Admiral Piett told them the emperor had something special in mind. Then the emperor informed Luke the Death Star was fully operational, and he ordered the commander to fire at will. A large rebel ship was destroyed in a single shot. Admiral Ackbar wanted all craft to retreat. None of his ships could repel firepower of that magnitude. However Lando encouraged the admiral to stay, since they would not get another chance. Lando told everyone to engage the star destroyers at point blank range in the hopes of taking some of these ships down with him. He was trying to buy his friend Han Solo more time.
Then the emperor provoked Luke into fighting a duel. Luke grabbed his light saber from the emperor in attempt to kill him. However Darth Vader pulled out his own lightsaber and blocked him. He did this to protect Luke. The Emperor could have stopped Luke from hitting him if he really wanted. He demonstrated countless times how UNdefenseless he truly was. Darth Vader didn’t want his son to end up injured or dead. The emperor had no intention of dying. He perverted the Rule of Two into a Rule of One. He came up with a plan to keep killing his apprentices and replace them and rule the galaxy as the eternal Sith lord. Darth Vader decided to battle Luke in attempt to turn him to the Dark Side. He wanted Luke to join him in killing the emperor. Meanwhile he made himself appear loyal to the emperor and acting as his protector. After Luke had the high ground from a balcony, he informed his father he felt the good in him and sensed a conflict. He told him there was no conflict and that if did not fight he would meet his destiny. Then Darth Vader threw his light saber through the balcony and caused Luke to fall. Luke went and hid from his father. Luke struggled with light and darkness. Darth Vader sensed his thoughts. He realized that Luke’s feelings for his friends were strong, especially for his sister. Darth Vader learned that Luke had a twin sister.
Darth Vader said, “Now Obi-wan’s failure is complete. If you cannot be turned, then perhaps she will.”
Luke Skywalker went all out in anger. Darth Vader had pinched the wrong nerve. He fought with all his might to protect the integrity of his sister. The two dueled and Luke kept moving forward. He pushed his father to the edge of a shaft, and he kept bashing him with his lightsaber. Finally Luke cut off his father’s hand. The emperor laughed and chuckled, and he encouraged Luke to kill his father and take his place at his side. Luke saw his father’s severed wrist and then looked at his own mechanical hand. Luke realized he was becoming just like his father.

Luke rejected the emperor’s offer to join the Dark Side. He turned off his light saber and threw it towards the emperor. Luke informed his highness he had failed. Luke was now a Jedi, like his father before him. The emperor suffered a huge narcissistic injury when Luke rejected his offer. No one had told him no before. The emperor informed Luke that if he could not be turned, he would be destroyed. Then Darth Sidious fired Sith lightning from his fingertips in attempt to kill him. He started out with lower voltage to toy with Luke and make him suffer. Meanwhile Darth Vader returned to his master’s side like a beaten puppy. He struggled with light and darkness. He fought between letting go of his anger and hate while he saw his son in pain.
Then Darth Vader said, “Screw it. I lost my mother, and I lost Padme, but I am not losing you.”
Anakin Skywalker was reborn, and he killed Darth Vader. Anakin found a power he never knew he had. The emperor was high on the Dark Side and was completely unaware of everything except his hatred for Luke. Anakin picked up the emperor and held him tight within his grasp. Both Anakin and the emperor were shocked by the lightning. Anakin did not let go, because his love for his son was stronger than the emperor’s hate. Then Anakin carried him over to the ledge and threw him down the shaft, where he hit the reactor below. A wave of dark energy blasted from the bottom of the abyss, and his soul went to the place where it belonged. Now this great evil was destroyed. The emperor intended to use the shaft for his unruly imperial officers, but now he met his own demise. While Anakin gasped for air, Luke held his father by his side.
Luke did absolutely the best thing by telling the emperor no and throwing it back at him. The emperor was destroyed by a power he did not understand. Luke loved his father, believed in him, and forgave him. This awakened the spirit of Anakin Skywalker. He crushed the emperor by defeating the Dark Side, and he put the cancer of the galaxy in remission. Anakin fulfilled the prophecy of the Chosen One who would destroy the Sith and bring balance to the Force.
The rebels never began to win until Darth Sidious became completely distracted from the battle. Then they made a comeback. The imperials lost a vast portion of the fleet. Admiral Piett was even killed when a kamikaze crash his fighter into the bridge. The Ewoks managed to defeat the imperial forces on the forest moon. Their bright white uniforms made the perfect targets on the forest floor. Han Solo managed to trick the imperials into opening the door into the base by asking for reinforcements. They laid charges and blew the entire shield generator up. Then Lando led the attack on the Death Star. They flew towards the main reactor and blew it up. Luke made it out in time before the Death Star blew. Before this happened, Anakin told his son to take off his mask. Luke did not want to since he would die. Anakin was a broken man in more ways than one. He said nothing could stop that now. For once he wanted to see his son with his own eyes. Luke unmasked him and they shared a moment as father and son. Luke said he came to save father.
But Anakin said, “You already have Luke. You were right about me. Tell your sister you were right.”
Anakin smiled and breathed his last. He spent his entire life as a slave. First he was a slave to Watto, then to the Jedi Order, and finally to Darth Sidious. But now Anakin had been redeemed, and he became one with the Force. On the forest moon Luke, with the help of two Ewoks, burned Darth Vader’s suit on a funeral pyre. On Mustafar Anakin lost much of his humanity when he was burned by the lava. At Endor Luke sought to destroy what remained of Darth Vader. There was much rejoicing in the wake of the defeat of the empire. The ghosts of Anakin, Yoda, and Obi-wan appeared before Luke. Since they became one with the Force, they knew only love and forgiveness. Han soon married Princess Leia, and Luke sought to rebuild the Jedi Order. Little did Luke know that another Sith lord still lurked in the shadows. Darth Plagueis learned of the deaths of Vader and Sidious through the Force.
Although the empire received a crushing defeat at Endor, it was not destroyed. A year later the rebel alliance won a major victory against the imperial forces at Jakku. Many ships crashed into its desert wastelands. The remaining imperials retreated into the Unknown Regions, and the New Republic emerged. Soon the Rebel Alliance was disbanded, and Darth Plagueis saw his opportunity to return. He renamed himself Supreme Leader Snoke, and he formed the ashes of the empire into the First Order. He knew that with such a name, his enemies would never take him seriously, and that’s exactly what he wanted. He sat on a throne to assert his authority, and he spoke to his minions through holograms to put distance between himself and his potential attacker. He did not want a repeat of what Darth Sidious did to him.
Snoke took the worst elements of the empire and amplified them. In doing this he created an evil unlike anything the galaxy had ever seen. The First Order captured young children and brainwashed them into becoming soldiers for them. Snoke believed in totalitarianism and wanted to outdo his old apprentice. He desired to control every aspect of people’s lives, including what they thought and believed. He sought to leave the galaxy in darkness by indoctrinating the youth with his propaganda. He also tried to destroy records across the galaxy, so history and knowledge of the truth would be forgotten.
The capital was moved from Coruscant to the Hosnian system, and this became the seat of the New Republic. However this new government proved corrupt. It was filled with too many sympathizers to the First Order and was unable to deal with the problems that plagued the galaxy. Han and Leia bore a son named Ben. Luke began a relationship with the daughter of Obi-wan Kenobi and bore a daughter named Rey. Luke sought this woman out due to his attachment to his beloved mentor. Luke started a school to train the new Jedi Order, and he recruited many Force sensitive individuals throughout the galaxy. One of these people was his nephew Ben.
Snoke feared Luke Skywalker more than anything, and he dreaded the return of the Jedi. He knew Luke was worthless to him, since he had already rejected the Dark Side. So Snoke hid out in a cave near the Jedi school and began a relationship with his great-grandson Ben. He sensed the Dark Side in this young boy. Ben felt much anger and aggression, especially towards his parents. Snoke seduced him to the Dark Side by offering to teach him more about Darth Vader. Snoke convinced Ben to kill all the students at the Jedi school. Then Ben took the name Kylo Ren and joined the Knights of Ren. This Dark Side cult worshiped Darth Vader. Snoke took the Knights of Ren as his apprentices and sought to train them under his wing. Snoke believed the Rule of Two was an antiquated system, just as the Jedi were relics of a bygone age.
Although Luke had faced Darth Vader and the emperor, Snoke scared him more than anything and spooked him to go into exile. Luke fell into a major depression, much like he did during his youth. To protect his daughter Rey, he performed a Jedi mind trick on her to erase her memories. He also sent her and his wife into hiding on Jakku. His good and trusted friend Lor San Takka agreed to watch over them. However Rey’s mother was a thug and abandoned her daughter on Jakku. Then she joined the First Order where she trained combat troops. Luke went to Ahch-To, a remote planet where the first Jedi Temple was built. Here the ancient prophecy of the Chosen One was made. Luke wanted to learn more about the prophecy and see if maybe people had misinterpreted it. He left a hint of his whereabouts in his R2 unit, so his daughter could find him at the proper time. During his exile, Luke learned an important clue for how to take down Snoke. Since Snoke had cheated death, he’s basically immortal. Supernatural power is keeping him alive, and only supernatural power will kill him. He has achieved great power, and his only fear is losing it. Snoke fears Luke because he knows his grandson is more powerful than him. However Luke has stopped believing in himself, and he just wants to disappear from the world.
Han and Leia ran into their troubles as well. After their son Ben joined the Dark Side, they decided to separate. Han returned to what he knew best, which was smuggling. Leia went back into espionage and gathering military intelligence. She knew about Snoke, and she feared his power. Snoke and he alone turned her son to the Dark Side. The government of the New Republic was worthless and did nothing to counter the First Order. So she followed in the footsteps of her adopted father Bail Organa, and she began the Resistance to keep the First Order in check. The Resistance was small and had little resources, but nevertheless it frustrated the efforts of the enemy.
Thirty years after the Battle of Endor, Snoke ordered General Hux to destroy the Hosnian system with the Starkiller Base. This super weapon of terror located in the Unknown Regions could destroy an entire star system with a single shot. The goal was three-fold. The First Order wanted to wipe out the government of the Republic, to deprive the Resistance of vital resources, and to destroy the galaxy archive data necessary to locate Luke Skywalker. However the Force allowed the Sith to rise up and destroy the government of the Republic due to its corruption. The archive data was also stored in Luke’s R2 unit and was spared. Although things may look dark and bleak, the Force will still provide. Even though the Resistance managed to destroy the Starkiller Base, Snoke seemed rather unconcerned since he has many other tricks up his sleave.
Darth Vader said, “The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.”
Kylo Ren was also known as Darth Emo, Darth Tantrum, or Darth Vader, Jr. Although a grown man, he threw gross temper tantrums when he didn’t get his way and smashed things with his light saber. He was someone who glamorized evil. He worshiped his Grandpa Vader and became just like him. He developed signs of Borderline Personality Disorder. Just like Darth Vader, he became torn between the darkness and the light. He feared being abandoned by the Dark Side. As a result, he desired to become more evil and darker than dark. He almost chose the Light Side before he rejected it. He killed unarmed prisoners to shred all notions of compassion and goodness. When he was wounded, he engaged in suicidal behavior by punching his wound. This allowed him to tap into the power of the Dark Side. He regarded Supreme Leader Snoke as wise. He also told Kylo Ren his version of history…
Snoke said, "Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Sidious the pawn? Unfortunately, he thought his master taught him everything he knew, and then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. It's ironic… he could manipulate others, but not himself."
Kylo Ren went to Endor to retrieve Darth Vader’s helmet from the pyre. He prayed to the helmet and even asked it to give him inspiration. Snoke spoke through the helmet to manipulate Kylo Ren even further. There he also found Darth Vader’s kyber crystal and used it in the construction of his own lightsaber. Although the crystal was cracked and potentially dangerous because it fell through the atmosphere, he used it anyways because he believed it gave him special powers. Snoke wanted to use Kylo Ren to kill his family and destroy the entire Skywalker bloodline. Afterwards Snoke planned to crush Kylo Ren as well. Snoke wanted to bring balance to the Force from his point of view. He realized conceiving Anakin maybe was a mistake. He never intended for Anakin to have children, and he feared that the Skywalker bloodline might be his undoing.
The stakes could never be higher. The heroes have never faced such a test. A great evil seeks not only there destruction, but also the complete obliteration of their existence. He even wants to erase them from peoples’ minds by having them believe the Skywalkers were myths. The Dark Side wants to engulf the entire galaxy and leave it in darkness. A fanatical First Order also wants indoctrinate people with their lies. Most people in the galaxy are filled with indifference and don’t seem to care about what’s going on. All the people are in great danger of being swallowed whole. Snoke will never be content, unless the entire galaxy rests beneath his thumb.
There is only one option left for the heroes. They must trust in the Force. They can do so because the Force is trustworthy. It has proven itself reliable before, and it won’t lead them wrong now. The Force is bigger than the biggest evil, and it’s greater than any of their problems. The Force will give them the wisdom, courage, and strength to get through any situation they may find themselves. The Force will also manipulate time and events in their favor. They just need to trust it. The Force will provide in miraculous ways. With the power of the Force, no obstacle can stand in their way. In due time and unforeseen ways, the people of goodness will see their enemies crushed beneath their feet.
Although Snoke is the biggest enemy to the galaxy, it won’t be Luke’s job to destroy him. Luke will confront Kylo Ren. Luke will be struck down by Kylo Ren, but not because he lost. Luke will go just like his beloved mentor Obi-wan Kenobi. Luke will become more powerful than what anyone can possibly imagine and become one with the Force. This encounter will play a major role in turning Kylo Ren back to the light. He will also never get over fact that his father forgave him and loved him unconditionally, even when he rammed his lightsaber through his father and killed him. Although Han once thought it was all tricks and nonsense, he later became a believer in the Force. Kylo Ren will also confront his cousin Rey. He will begin to question the power of the Dark Side, after he loses twice in a battle with a girl. When he encounters his mother Leia, Kylo Ren will just break down and cry. He will realize that Snoke was just manipulating him, and he will abandon the Dark Side and become Ben Solo again. However evil has its consequences and no one will trust him. Ben will have trouble convincing everyone his change is sincere.
Evil always oversteps its bounds. In the end the First Order and the Resistance will face each other in a giant climatic battle. General Hux will die in an explosion after a kamikaze pilot crashes into his command center. The Skywalkers will destroy the Knights of Ren in a fight to the death. Supreme Leader Snoke will face Ben, Rey, and Leia in an outright duel. Although Snoke is physically frail, he is powerful in the Dark Side of the Force. He will pull lots of tricks out of his sleeve and prove a formidable foe. However the Dark Side advances will be encountered by the light. Snoke will reveal he is their ancestor and that he fathered Anakin through the Dark Side of the Force. However Snoke has become even more desperate to destroy the Skywalker bloodline. He will conjure up a Force Storm to destroy the Skywalkers. These intense storms can wipe out entire fleets of ships and rip off the surfaces of planets. Sith masters were always hesitant to use them, since they were unstable and hard to control.
However Ben Solo will initiate a Force Harmony. Skywalkers become united by the Force in all its intensity. When they put their hearts and minds together, they cause Snoke to lose control of the Dark Side. While Snoke intends to destroy his descendants with the storm, it turns around and ends up destroying him. The storm utterly consumes him, and his soul goes to the place where it belongs. Because Ben initiated the harmony, it put an immense strain on him. However he will sacrifice himself to save the others. He dies in the event, but he was redeemed and will become one with the Force. The seed of Anakin will defeat the Dark Side and destroy the Sith. Thus the Skywalkers fulfill the prophecy of the Chosen One, who brings balance to the Force.
A great number of witnesses watch this event. Many see the futility of the Dark Side and turn away from it. Rey begins to rebuild the new Jedi Order, without the corrupting influence of the Dark Side. Rey is also one generation removed from Luke, who was trained by Obi-wan and Yoda. She has no living memory of the old failed Jedi Order and its structure, which the Force sought to eradicate. When the new Jedi Order emerges, they create a system based on love for fellow man, and they dismantle the system of evil created by Darth Plagueis. Once again the Jedi become the guardians of peace and justice throughout the galaxy.
