The Fantastic Beasts story sets in New York in 1920, seventy years before the Harry Potter series. Newton Scamander's creatures escape from his suitcase and he has to look for them all around the city with Porpentina, Queenie and the No-Maj Jacob. During his adventure, he has to face to force of the Obscurus and the greatest dark lord of this time: Grindelwald. Even tough Newt manages to stop both of them by the end of the first movie, the story isn't about to stop. The first film was only the setting of what will happen further, and we know that J.K. Rowling offers enough mysteries to captivate her fans for several years. Here are 10 things that could happen in the rest of the series, based on fan theories:

10- Newton and Porpentina Will Fall in Love

One of the first thing Newt says to Porpentina is "You've got something on your nose". Does that remind you of something? This is similar to what Hermione tells Ron in their first scene together in Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone: "You've got dirt on your nose, by the way". As the two young wizards ended up together, the new heroes of Fantastic Beasts will too. This is more than a simple theory, as the real life book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them mentions Porpentina as Newt's wife. However, the magizoologist will first have to forget his first love: Leda Lestrange.

9- Grindelwald Will Steal Gregorovitch's Wand

It is known in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows that Grindelwald steals the Elder Wand that belonged to Gregorovitch. However, he doesn't seem to have it yet in Fantastic Beasts, and the MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America) would have confiscated it anyway. This could mean that he will have to take the Elder wand away from his owner after the first film. One thing is (almost) sure: the dark wizard probably won't stay in prison for too long. He will have to make history, as it has been known in the Harry Potter series.

8- We'll Learn More About Newt's Experiments

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them reveals that Newt was expelled from Hogwarts because he took the blame for experiments he did with Leda Lestrange, even though then professor Dumbledore wanted him to stay. According to Nerdist, this might be because Leda was experimenting with Obscurus. Albus is pretty sensitive on this subject because of personal reasons you'll soon learn about. Could this explain why Newt knew how to extract and capture an Obscurus that was hidden in a little girl?

7- Queenie and Jacob Will Stay Together

As it is possible to see at the end of the movie, Queenie goes to Jacob's bakery, where he seems to remember some of the things he saw. Even if she might try to date him without telling her secret, he will probably start to remember what happened. The mobile app Fantastic Beasts: Cases from the Wizarding World already proved that memory can come back when it is stimulated, even with the memory charm. According to PBS, the last official law prohibiting Muggle interracial marriage in the USA was repealed in 2000. Queenie and Jacob could be an example of the difficulties of living in a world where interracial couples aren't accepted.

6- The Heroes Will Have a Kid

It used to be possible to read on Pottermore that Luna Lovegood married Rolf Scamander, Newt's grandson. However, if he wants to have a grandson, Scamander first needs to have a child. As it is possible to read the book Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them that he was born in 1897, he must be in his 30s in 1926. As the Fantastic Beats series will last 19 years according to J. K. Rowling for Variety, Newt and Porpentina will probably want to have a child during this time. Will they have to hide the kids in the suitcase while they travel the world? Good news is: this mean they will survive the adventure, as they are both alive and retired in the last version of the Fantastic Beasts book.

5- Grindelwald Will Be Associated with Hitler

The legendary duel between Dumbledore and Grindelwald happens in 1945, as it is possible to read in Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone. This means that some part of the series will take place during World War II, that lasted from 1939 to 1945. Grindelwald's and Hitler's messages are similar, as they both think their race is superior and want to eliminate the others. Fantastic Beasts could be a representation of this mad ideology, as Gellert will build an army have a huge influence on many wizards who do think they will find freedom by exterminating Muggles. Will this be a warning for the xenophobia that could truly come back in the United States in 2016?

4- Leda Lestrange Will Fall for Gellert Grindelwald

David Yates, the movie director confirmed that "Leda comes into the second movie. [...] Shes quite complicated, a little damaged, and confused... shes kind of tragic figure in a way." as reported by Bustle. Maybe this means Newt will come to the dark side because he is blinded by love, just like it happened to Dumbledore himself. However, NME has another theory. In Greek mythology, Leda is a woman who is seduced by Zeus. As Rowling hide meanings in her character's names, this could mean that Leda Lestrange will be seduced by a powerful man: Grindelwald. Newt isn't the only one who won't be happy to hear that.

3- Tom Riddle Will Be Part of Fantastic Beasts

Better known as Voldemort, Tom Riddle graduates from Hogwarts in 1945, the same year the Fantastic Beasts series ends. This means the two dark wizards, looking for the same thing, were both alive and influential at the same time. We bet that his name will at least be mentioned in the new movie series. Otherwise, let's remember when Tom Riddle let escape a fantastic beast in Hogwarts in 1943, as we learn in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secret. Maybe the school will need some help from Newt to take care of this creature?

2- Ariana's Obscured Secret Will Be Revealed

Kept them away from the rest of the world, Ariana was believed to be an Obscurial. This destructive force develops into a children when they repress magic, as it happened to Credence in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. She could have been traumatized as Muggle boys attacked her when she practised magic at six years old. As Aberforth Dumbledore explained it in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: "It destroyed her, what they did: She was never right again. She wouldn't use magic, but she couldn't get rid of it; it turned inward and drove her mad, it exploded out of her when she couldn't control it, and at times she was strange and dangerous." She even killed her own mother in an accident, but her family didn't want her to be locked up in St Mungo's because of her "condition". Albus and Gellert then planned to take her with them, possibly because they wanted to use the power of the obscurus. Will Dumbledore finally reveal his darkest secret in the new movie series?

1- Dumbledore's Love for Grindelwald Will Badly End

J. K. Rowling herself said it in a Q&A at New York's Carnegie Hall: "I always thought of Dumbledore as gay. [...] Dumbledore fell in love with Grindelwald, and that that added to his horror when Grindelwald showed himself to be what he was." In those times, Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald both wanted Wizard's dominance. However, Albus wanted it for the Muggle's own good, as he wrote in a letter from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. In the 1920's, Albus is probably less attracted by a man who maybe killed his sister. However, defeating the one he used to love will probably be worth one of his famous quote from the first film: It takes a great deal of courage to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends." Will Grindelwald confront Dumbledore one last time by reminding him that they both used to be fighting for the same thing?
