Yes, that's right, this is a real game that actually exists. That isn't some fanmade photo shop bullshit up there, this is real. For years fans have been demanding a game that was Super Smash Bros. for the Indie Characters that we all know and love from outside the AAA Developing closed circles. Indie Game Battle, already on Steam Early Access has been collecting your favorite Indie Characters to put forth into glorious combat.

The only rules are the character must be from an Indie Game and the developer who created them must say yes, which is great that the latter rule is in effect because no one wants to be that asshole who does blatant copyright infrigement, right Limbo Of The Lost? And for those who don't get that reference look at the below.

So far Indie Gaming Battle has assembled an impressive roster including some familiar faces such as Pico from Pico's School (Who remembers Pico's School? Damn I feel old), Chip from Chip's Challenge, Tim Burr from Fist Of Awesome, Dust from Dust:An Elsyian Tale, Captain Viridian from VVVVVVVVVVV and even some characters from Indie Games to be released in the future. I'm going to post the roster below

Other characters are being considered, none of which I'll name because there's no guarantee which characters being considered will actually get in and if the copyright holder will even say yes to begin with, ah yes, copyright. The normal problem with these crossover games. Still the developers have made obvious that if the fans want someone, they'll go out of their way to try and include them legally if possible. Personally I'd love to see Max from Max's Big Bust, Foxy from Five Nights At Freddy's, Spooky from Spooky's House Of Jumpscares, and Mike Dawson from Darkseed 2, but we'll see what's given to us in the future. Indie Game Battle is available on Steam for the low price of 10 Dollars, and is currently in Early Access. Right now the gameplay's a little wonky, but it's easy to see what they're going for a version of Super Smash Bros. that features Indie Characters spotlighting old favorites and giving Indie Games from smaller projects a chance to get into the mainstream.

What does the future of the game hold? No telling, the game has strangely avoided the mainstream's radar which is disappointing. The fans have been dying for a chance like this and developers take note, if you want your character to fight with the greats this could be your chance. The game is already in a playable state, supports controllers of both Playstation and Xbox, and allows up to eight players. The title still needs polish but I can easily see this one becoming a fan favorite at conventions once it finally gets that polish.

The game is avaliable for ten dollars and can be found here on a Steamworks near you http://store.steampowered.com/app/407620/ and Planned features include Online Play and an Adventure mode, personally I just can't wait till I can play as McPixel (confirmed, but not presently playable) and start peeing on The Goat from Goat Simulator (also confirmed playable) Ah McPixel, you were a silly silly game.

As always, I am not affiliated with nor was I commissioned by Blob Games Studio who developed Indie Game Battle, I'm just trying to get the word out about this fun little title.
