Every movie lover has an example of a poster they are head over heels for. It may be because of the colors utilized or because it's a staple on their "best of" list. It may not even be a film that they technically enjoy, the poster is just that spectacular. Certain #movieposters are considered beautiful works of art themselves, particularly the ones created by the icons like Saul Bass or Drew Struzan.

There are examples of theatrical movie posters being released today that are rather nice looking, however an overwhelming majority are not anything special to look at. To be fair, the general movie-going audience probably doesn't care about the intricacies that go into a movie poster. For others like myself, we thankfully have #IMAX to satisfy the cravings for all those poster purists out there. You know the poster will most likely be a beaut when the line "EXPERIENCE IT IN IMAX" is mentioned along the bottom... Even if the movie itself may not be that great.

Here are 15 of the best looking that you will most certainly feel pride for hanging on your walls.

The 5 Types Of Movie Posters (And How They Influence Us)

The Dying Art Of Hand-Drawn Movie Posters

1. The Dark Knight (2008)

Many consider #ChristopherNolan's second entry in the #Batman franchise as one of the greatest comic book films of all time. This IMAX poster certainly does the film justice because it is superbly chilling -- the Joker cards, the scratchy writing and that painted on smile -- Something told audiences this would not be your average Batman film. The Dark Knight would introduce audiences to a new incarnation of The Joker, a portrayal we never truly witnessed in previous #Joker performances by Cesar Romero and Jack Nicholson.

2. Pacific Rim (2013)

Fans of the first IMAX screenings for Guillermo del Toro's 2013 flick, Pacific Rim received a pleasant surprise during their watch, this exclusive IMAX poster. Los Angeles-based artist Sergio Grisanti was hand picked by director del Toro to create this poster which del Toro excitedly declared:

"Such power! Such beauty! Sergio loves his Kaijus and his Mecha, and it shows."

3. Captain America: Winter Soldier (2014)

This brilliantly stylized throwback to the 1970s spy thrillers featured a brooding Bucky (#SebastianStan), a looming Nick Fury (#SamuelLJackson), a striking Natasha Romanoff (#ScarlettJohansson) and a dashing Robert Redford. Lest we forget, Cap himself (#ChrisEvans) front and center of this seemingly patriotic poster. The sequel to The First Avenger and ninth main entry in the #MCU received rave reviews and is considered one of the best installments in the MCU.

4. Godzilla (2014)

After its heart pounding first trailer, we were treated with this phenomenal IMAX poster for the return of #Godzilla. It had been 16 years since Hollywood tackled Godzilla and because the 1998 version featured an overabundance of Matthew Broderick's quick wips, audiences were clamoring for a more serious take on the mega monster. This poster illustrates the sheer monstrous size of Godzilla compared to the military personnel below and the tallest skyscraper in the San Francisco skyline, the Transamerica Pyramid.

5. Spectre (2015)

Following the spectacular critical and audience reception of Skyfall, the 24th installment of the #Bond franchise was incredibly anticipated. This Day-Of-The-Dead-inspired poster featured a close up of 007 (#DanielCraig) wearing a skull mask-- dashing blue eyes present-- Amongst a sea of charcoal black with the white mask highlighted. Theories and speculations arose, of course, with fans wondering what the imagery could possibly mean!

6-8. Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

During the lead up to the ridiculously anticipated return to a galaxy far, far, away, IMAX released four beautifully illustrated posters in 2015. The posters showcased Rey (#DaisyRidley), Poe (#OscarIsaac), Captain Phasma (#GwendolineChristie) and the showdown between Finn (#JohnBoyega) and Kylo Ren (#AdamDriver).

9. The Divergent Series: Allegiant (2016)

This IMAX poster to the DOA installment of the Divergent Series made it seem like the film was a brilliant thriller featuring a lead who just wants to "escape the world you know." Since the film couldn't have been farther from that initial belief, this homage to Hitchcock's iconic Vertigo poster is probably the only good thing to come out of this franchise. I mean, even series lead Shailene Woodley doesn't want to return to the role.

10. Deadpool (2016)

According to this Deadpool poster, size does matter and if there is anything we learned from the foul-mouth antihero, he is never wrong. This awesomely illustrated poster features all of our favorite characters including Deadpool (#RyanReynolds) hanging out on Colossus's (Stefan Kapii) shoulders, Ajax (#EdSkrein) grasping an ax and a random #StanLee cameo on the bottom right. I'd name the rest of the characters but... I don't want to.

11. La La Land (2016)

This fantastically gorgeous throwback features leads Mia (#EmmaStone) and Sebastian (#RyanGosling) in drawn form looking absolutely glamorous. IMAX and Lionsgate announced in early January that the surprise musical hit would release in select IMAX theaters (in the United States) for a special engagement on January 13th, 2017. The lucky ones who watched the film on an IMAX screen in its first weekend was rewarded with this special, limited edition double-sided IMAX mini poster. Had I known about this giveaway, I would have gladly taken a Greyhound bus to wherever was giving them away because it is classically beautiful.

12. Suicide Squad (2016)

Regardless where you fall in the numerous discussions of #DC's Suicide Squad, the marketing campaign for the film was wonderful. Following a fantastic "Bohemian Rhapsody" first trailer, the posters that were released featured all the "bad guys" audiences would be introduced to. This cereal-inspired poster was fantastically bright, chalk full of the crew's lucky charms including boomerangs, bullets and swords, and featured the skull icons for the baddies of the squad.

13. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)

Rogue One expanded our knowledge of the #StarWars universe by introducing us to brand new characters many grew incredibly attached to. Seeing #FelicityJones's Jyn Erso amongst a crowd of others including Captain Cassian (#DiegoLuna) and K2SO (#AlanTudky) all set over the exterior of the Death Star made us giddy with excitement for this new Star Wars installment.

14. Logan (2017)

#Logan is going to be bad ass. There is no question about it, from its incredible first trailer to the R-rating, audiences are counting down the days until we can see #HughJackman kick all the villainous ass. As if we possibly needed to feel more excitement, IMAX releases this new throwback poster that seemingly takes inspiration from the classic flicks director James Mangold says inspired 2013's The Wolverine. The new poster features a hardened Logan standing tall with his adamantium claws out and Dafne Keen's Laura (also known as X-23) rocking some of her own claws as well. It also features a weakened Professor X (#SirPatrickStewart) and a menacing Donald Pierce (#BoydHoldbrook) who is joined by his squad of mutant-hunting Reavers.

15. Kong: Skull Island (2017)

March is gearing up to be a stacked month at the movies with Logan releasing on the 3rd and #KongSkullIsland hitting theaters exactly one week after it. This new poster features a terrifying Kong staring straight into your soul and the comparisons to the poster of the 1979 classic Apocalypse Now are warranted given its lush jungle landscapes and journey into the unknown.
