CENTENNIAL, Colo. — Colorado Farm Bureau presented Sen. Cory Gardner with its Friend of Farm Bureau Award at Sakata Farms. The Friend of Farm Bureau award is awarded at the end of each Congress to members who worked to support agriculture and rural Colorado.
“The Friend of Farm Bureau Award is our thanks for standing up for Colorado farm and ranch families in Congress,” Don Shawcroft, Colorado Farm Bureau president, said. “The senators and representatives designated for this award understand how difficult it has been to grow food and fiber in this difficult economic environment.
They also understand the need to increase world trade as well as eliminate unnecessary regulatory burdens.”
Recipients of 2016 Friend of Farm Bureau Award include:
The Honorable Cory Gardner, U.S. Senate
The Honorable Mike Coffman, U.S. House of Representatives
The Honorable Doug Lamborn, U.S. House of Representatives
The Honorable Scott Tipton, U.S. House of Representatives
This is the 20th anniversary of the first Friend of Farm Bureau recognition, starting in 1996, and have been announced every other year near the end of subsequent congresses.
