Tuesday September 27th

Toledo Museum of Art’s Family Center is open 10AM-3PM- kiddos can create, paint, & play (no admission or registration/reservation necessary, drop in & enjoy). 2PM- Glassblowing demonstrations in the Glass Pavilion.

Hour of Code @ Mott Branch Library 3-4PM: Learn some basic concepts of computer programming as you complete an Hour of Code! It’s your chance to expand your knowledge of how things work. Grades 6-12

Family Storytime @ Washington Branch 7-7:30PM: Children ages 2-5, along with their favorite grown-ups, are invited to talk, sing, read, write and play as we share stories, rhymes, music and movement. Note that there will be no Storytime on November 8.

Wednesday September 28th

Library Playdate @ Sanger 10-11:30AM: Having fun leads to learning for the Library’s youngest users. Through a variety of interactive play activities young children and their favorite grown-up can experience the Library as an exciting, fun and (sometimes) messy place to play, while building early literacy skills.  Grown-ups, feel free to bring coffee for you and a snack for your child.

Wii Wednesday @ Kent Branch Library 4PM-5PM: Come on in to play Wii games. Enjoy a snack and maybe make a new friend!

Thursday September 29th

Storytime @ Barnes & Noble Fallen Timbers 10:00 AM: Join us for stories, songs, fingerplays, crafts and more! Storytime begins at 10:00AM.

Rhythm and Rhyme Storytime @ Main Library 10AM-11:30AM: For children of all abilities and their families! Join us for an action-packed Storytime program with music and movement that will have everyone moving and shaking!

Tai Chi @ Toledo Heights Branch 4PM-5PM: Today’s hectic lifestyles make it difficult to take time out for exercise. Tai Chi is finding fans for all age groups and levels of athletic abilities. Please be sure to wear loose, comfortable clothing and supportive shoes to this introductory class.

Open Late So Make It a Date @ Secor Metropark @ 5PM-9PM: It’s Friday night and the gallery is open late so make it a date. Come experience the beautiful images at the National Center for Nature Photography, light refreshments, and, of course, your dear sweet.

Saturday October 1st

Build a Fire Truck @ Home Depot: Join our hands-on workshop and you and your child can build a toy fire truck with real wheels so you can race it to the rescue! Once the toy truck is built, your child can decorate it with paint & vehicle stickers. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin.

October Lil’ Timbers Kids Klub @ The Shops at Fallen Timbers: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM Location: Vacant space next door to Shoe Dept Encore”Pumpkin spice and everything nice, that’s what autumn is made of!” Join the Lil’ Timbers Kids Klub as each child will have the opportunity to decorate their own wooden pumpkin to hang on their door or wall at home! One per child, while supplies last. Please note that children will be painting and may get messy.

Laughter Yoga @ Main Branch Library 2PM-2:45PM: Laughing not only feels great, but it’s good for you! As part of LaughFest, this 45-minute Laughter Yoga session will show you how to integrate yogic breathing with laughter. Also known as Hasya Yoga, Laughter Yoga uses eye contact and playfulness between participants to turn this forced laughter into real and contagious laughter, resulting in stress reduction and better health. Suitable for all ages. Wear comfortable clothing.

Homesteading: Harvest Time @ Pearson Park 11AM-3PM: Calling pioneers of all ages, the Johlin Black Swamp Cabin is open to enjoy. Help preserve the harvest for the scarcity of winter. See how much home life has changed in the last 149 years. Join us any time between 11 am and 3 pm, to lend a hand with preservation of the harvest or just explore.

The Wiener Dog Nationals return to Oakshade Raceway in Wauseon for the third straight year on October 1st. This event is open to all wiener dogs/dachshunds. Registration starts at 11am with a $5 charge per dog participant. There will also be a Power Wheels Demolition Derby immediately following the wiener dog races. Admission to watch both events is FREE!

LEGO® Star Wars Rogue One Build Event Children’s Event @ Barnes & Noble Fallen Timbers & Franklin Park 4:00 PM Kids ages 8 and up are invited to join us for our LEGO® Star Wars Rogue One Build Event. In this open and fun-filled activity, participants and Star Wars fans alike will get to build designs from the exciting new film coming out this year.
