A True and Faithful Relation of What Passed for Many Years Between Dr. John Dee and Some Spirits (Deluxe signed leather bound hardcover in slipcase)

This work is the primary source for the study of the “actions” of John Dee with the spirits or angels which he sought and with which he claimed extensive communication. In excess of 500 pages, it was originally published by Meric Casaubon in London in 1659. The original publication is very rare. This is a premier facsimile edition published in 1974 jointly by The Golden Dragon Press of Wales and The Antoine Publishing Company of Glasgow. It is exquisitely hand bound in full leather (calf), and fine tooled with most attractive designs both front and back. The printing is equally attractive and the book is clean throughout and shows very little if any signs of wear. Inside the back cover is a plate signed by representatives of the two publishers, indicating that it is copy number 155 of a limited edition of 500 copies. The leather binding is very well preserved. There is a beautiful, well illustrated slip case to protect the book which is also well preserved. The slip case is often missing from the book when offered for sale today. Inside the front cover is a small label of Samuel Wiser, Inc., the notable bookseller where it was purchased. It has all been given loving care by the sole owner who has preserved it since it was purchased soon after publication.

Book and slipcase are in near fine condition. An excellent copy of this beautiful oversized book.

Book is 14 x 9

The face of the magical order Cultus Sabbati, a body of English traditional witchcraft initiates, first manifest in 1992 with the publication of Azoëtia: A Grimoire of the Sabbatic Craft by Andrew D. Chumbley. The book presented a sharply different view of the historical practice of witchcraft at the close of the twentieth century, at once drawing resonance with the phantasmagoric Sabbath of the Witches, cults of Sumerian and Graeco-Roman witch-deities, and the high magical operations of medieval necromancy. The most important and enduring feature of the Cultus was its inheritance of orally-transmitted spellcraft and lore, in part derived from the topological features of the daimonic medieval Witches’ Sabbath…

THE LEAPER BETWEEN: An Historical Study of the Toad-Bone Amulet; Its Forms, Functions, and Praxes in Popular Magic by Andrew Chumbley (Deluxe SPECIAL Leather Bound Limited Edition Hardcover) 1 of 77

Deluxe Special edition, hard grained black goat blocked with silver, gray custom cave paper end sheets. Number 3 of 77. Book is in new unread condition.

So spoke Tilly Baldry of Huntingtoft, an English wise-woman of the 19th century, describing the ritual of obtaining the witches amulet known as the toad-bone. Known to rural folk magicians and secret societies such as the Society of the Horseman’s Word, the exacting ritual of killing a toad to obtain the bone of power has been documented in various forms and cultural milieus for two millennia, though its origin is likely far older. Focusing on extant forms in Britain and Europe, Chumbley traces the metamorphosis of the toad-bone amulet from its beginning as a talisman for controlling animals to its ultimate manifestation as a conduit of diabolic power of the ‘Toad-Witch’. The first academic study of this little-known aspect of folk magic, The Leaper Between is here presented in unabridged form, newly typeset in several fine bindings worthy of its fascination. It will be of interest to students of comparative religion, magic, and folklore alike.

OPHIOLATREIA: An Account of the Rites and Mysteries Connected with the Origin, Rise, and Development of Serpent Worship in Various Parts of the World (Limited Edition Hardcover with Real Snakeskin Spine)

One of only 200 hand numbered copies bound in cloth with a real snakeskin spine. Book is in very good condition with a gentle bump to one corner else fine.

From the publisher:

We are proud to present to the public a resurrected and expanded edition of the occult classic “Ophiolatreia,” the definitive study of snake worship as practiced throughout the ancient world. Although the book is officially anonymous, it is believed by many to have been written by the 19th century Freemason, and Rosicrucian occultist Hargrave Jennings as part of his privately printed series of books titled “Nature Worship and Mystical Series” in which he developed his highly controversial theory of “Phallism” the belief that all religious traditions have their common origin in the worship of the sun, which Jennings believed was symbolized throughout the ancient world by pictures and carvings of both male and female genitalia. “Ophiolatreia” is considered a triumphal keystone of scholarly information from this series by many and a necessary source of reference for anyone who has even passing interest in the subject, as well as an important synthesis on the subject for anyone devoted to a serious study of the esoteric and occult significance of snake, sun and phallic worship. This fascinating book also includes the obscure article referenced in the main text in full: “Rough Notes on the Snake Symbol in India” by J.H. Rivett-Carnac to round-out the book with related study of snake symbolism, as well as an introduction by Errol Brent Culver covering the basic overview of known theory on the subject, and artwork illuminating the original plates by Lis Wright-Ivec.

SOLVE A Graphic Grimoire by Orryelle Defenestrate-Bascule

Bound in a premium black cloth lettered in white, with artistic embellishments in blind. Edition limited to 800 hand-numbered copies. The third volume in the Tela Quadrivum series following “Coagula”.

Solve takes the reader further into the alchemical process begun in Orryelle’s previous volume for Fulgur. Says the author/artist: “SOLVE dissolves the gold distilled in COAGULA, tears apart our egos, dismembers our bodies and hurls any conceptions of perfection back into the primal void. Herein lies death, destruction, and the Prima Materia, the base matter, the Al Khem – the fertile black soil of decomposing forms, the compost for new growth. In an exploration of the Nigredo, or Blackening phase, of Alchemy, the concepts of Black Magic are re-examined in this ThanatErotic tome of the backward winding path; from the darkness of the womb to the darkness of the tomb…”
