Portland-based label Fresh Selects doesn't play by the rules. After making the announcement that the label would be signing New Venusians, a seven piece band from Sydney, Australia, they premiered a six minute lead single. Authenticity is key. No radio edits, no industry advice, just a great label releasing great music. Now that 2016 is coming to a close and as New Venusians prepare their debut album for early 2017, they decide to let loose a second single known as "Sea". A song we are happy to premiere right here for you today. At only five minutes in length this time (right on), the soulful group grooves and sways with the ocean waves, one chord progression at a time. Slow dance with your lady to this one and download it for free right here.

Guitarist and frontman Ben Panucci, who co-wrote the song, had this to say about "Sea":

"Sea was written after awaking from a dream that took me to the edge of the earth, where (in that reality) the ocean cascades into the universe.  Did I drown or fall into space to float amongst the stars?  It always changes.  Either way I was far from shore, and also far from sure in the relationship I was in.  This song is both a riff on a dream and that feeling of being frozen by your uncertainties."

Lastly, if anyone reading this is residing in Australia, be sure to check out New Venusians in Sydney on Wednesday for a Christmas bash. You can find more info here.
