This year’s lineup mixes in a little more country flavor with the addition of a Nashville artist whose vocals have been heard behind the likes of Trace Adkins, Sara Evans and LeAnn Rimes, and a fresh country duo. Alaina Stacey is among the fifth group of artists who’ve been enlisted to play at Mile 4, August 4-7 in downtown Appleton. Joining her in bringing the country vibe are Dave & Whitney, also of Nashville. This places the total number of artists at 170 so far, with the remaining lineup expected to be revealed early in June.

Brand new to the festival, Alaina Stacey began her career singing backup vocals with the country band Janesville, and shared the stage with nationally acclaimed artists including Adkins, Evans and Rimes. In 2012, she founded a trio in Nashville called Maybe April which has garnered quite a large following for its three-part harmonies and songwriting style.

This group features mainly Wisconsin’s homegrown talent, although some, like Stacey, have roots and reputations spanning other states and countries. Of the new group, 40 are Wisconsinites eager to play their home state’s music festival. Mile of Music showcases only original works by the emerging artists.

Folk singer Bobby Long, originally born and raised in Wigan, just outside of Manchester, England also joins the Mile of Music playbill as does Pop Goes the Evil front man Lucas Frazier. The addition of Josh Harty from Fargo, North Dakota brings the number of states represented to 27. Among the group are 37 acts who’ve played at the Mile before, while another 18 will be coming to the Mile stages for the first time.

Here are the most recent additions for Mile 4, and where they are from. New artists are highlighted in bold text. More information on each artist is available on our lineup page.
